The First Day Of A New School It’s my first day at a new school, I’m so nervous as I speak. My palms feel a bit sweaty. And my knees a little weak. My dad got a new job, So we had to move town. When they first told me this news, I couldn’t help but just frown. I step into the classroom, Shiny new shoes entering first. A sea of friendly faces greet me, I need not have feared the worst. I sit down quickly at my desk, A wide grin across on my face. The teacher smiles at me warmly, This may be my new favourite place!

1 What two physical signs are related to being nervous? a) Her palms are sweaty and her knees are weak. b) She can’t speak and her arms are weak. c) Her palms are sweaty and her arms are weak. 2 Why is she starting a new school? a) Because she didn’t like her old teacher. b) Because she didn’t like her old school. c) Because her dad got a new job in a new town.
