Information from Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of community-focused health and social care services to people across five localities from Buckingham down to Bath. In Oxfordshire we provide community health services such as district nursing, physiotherapy and podiatry and we run eight community hospitals. We provide mental health services in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, as well as some mental health specialist services for Wiltshire, Bath, North East Somerset & Wales. As a Foundation Trust we want to ensure we provide caring, safe & excellent services and the support of our members helps us to do this. Becoming a Member Your experience of local health services is invaluable in helping us to improve them in the future. You may have a personal experience of one of our services, know or care for someone else who does, or you may simply have an interest in the development of health services locally. If so we would like you to be involved in the way our services are developed. You can choose to be an active member who gets involved in activities with the Trust. If you would rather support the Trust you can choose the supporter option. This means we will only contact you once a year about elections. Benefits of Membership
You can show your support to local NHS services by being a Foundation Trust Member in the ‘supporter’ category
If you want to be more involved, tick the ‘active member’ section and we will invite you to events, send you our latest news and let you know about other ways you can get involved with the Trust
You can access a wide range of NHS discounts that are normally only available to staff You can share your views and opinions about our services to help us to improve them. We don’t expect you always to agree with us or share our views. We really want to know what you think we do well and what we could do better
You can vote for a Governor to represent you on our Members’ Council or you can stand to be a Governor yourself when we have a vacancy Things you need to know about membership
It is free to be a member. There are no costs or charges associated with your membership Your care or treatment will not be affected. The person treating you won’t know if you are a Member or not
We have to contact you once a year about the Governor elections but if you choose to be a supporter we won’t contact you any other time
You can ensure your name and your membership category remain private by ticking the relevant box on the membership form

Coping Skills Courses
See pages 4 - 12 of this booklet for current dates, and check our website for details of courses for the rest of the year. ;
Assertiveness A look at what it is to be assertive, providing us with the skills to practise assertiveness techniques. Learn how to identify circumstances where we could be more assertive, and some assertiveness techniques.
Managing Stress A course designed to give us the skills and tools needed to better manage stress and promote good mental health and wellbeing. Each week covers a different topic to help you manage stress.
Managing Strong Emotions The Managing Strong Emotions course explores the reasons behind experiencing strong emotions, and introduces different tools and techniques that we can use to help better cope with and manage these emotions.
Mindful Way of Living Often in life we can get caught up in “doing” rather than “being”, the course looks at techniques that we can use to step out of automatic pilot, become more aware and take notice of our experiences.
Self Esteem This course will look at what self esteem is, how it is affected and will provide us with the skills and techniques we need to boost our confidence and self esteem.
