The starting point of the project proceeded through the question of the continuity of the flow determined in the master plan scale and the question “What is the square? This problematic situation arose with the existence of various restrictions and obstacles, and created interruptions on the crossing points. The aim of the project is to strengthen the existing transition and to propose a new meeting area by researching the concept of the square. Also designing a music center which is near by and connected the square with music.

In this project, it was proposed to regain the normal circulation and its continuity. This circulation flow was tried to be created with an architectural element such as ‘wall’ and to create transitional spaces. During the process, this element turned into a hierarchy that merged from time to time, suggesting a new space or unable to touch each other. Different spaces emerged not only in the 2nd Dimension but also in the 3rd Dimension. when combined, and define specific points.

These spaces that created made the ‘wall’ element clear on the subject of ‘reflection’. At the same time, this reflection has turned into an architectural element that guides us through the whole project and which we must follow. It started to be traces of places with different qualities.

However, the canopies, walls and ground relationship allowed these reflections to occur. Especially on the terrace floor, the relationship with the sea was tried to be established through reflection. The project establishes its bond with ‘Taksim’ through this circulation. The resulting shortcuts began to build with side streets connecting their heights. The landscape arrangement and the extension of the canopies through the spaces enabled the project to establish a direct relationship with the square.

In the project, I started to concentrate on the strength of the light. I questioned the effect of light in space through its power concept. A virtual force with specific push and pull forces determines the organization in the field. This organization is starting to emerge from the underground under the pressure of the subway shows itself in the field. the focal point that is produced as a result of this gush brings the functions of pulling force all over the area. Within this organization, some public and private areas are questioned about the concept of force.

These forces show upward leaks for underground as shown in the model. However, in the places close to the focal point and walls, we see the pulling forces in underground and on the ground when the thrust is applied. The underground and the ground are starting to move. In another model and diagrams, it shows how this fragmentation is combined with circulation and third dimension. Spaces are rising as they approach the focus point.

However, in public areas, we see fragmented walls. All of these can be an open-air museum with separate typologies but also into open-air cinema. As seen in the model, large areas rise, smaller and fragmented areas, semi-public areas can be lower. Without identifying any entrance, getting people from one end to the other without realizing the public and private distinction is the purpose.

This is 3th year project with developing by home-housing subject about extraordinary circumstances. We could choose distopic/utopic or recent situation to design. In the end we try to create a future scenario which includes cycborgs, gas leakage.

[HOME/HOUSING] A NEW FUTURE FOR CYBORGS HOUSING PROJECT

Home For Cycborgs 04.2018 Kadıköy/Istanbul/Turkey

STORY Cyber Attack In Kadıköy In a future Kadikoy district where people and cyborgs live together, a cyber attack that affects cyborgs has spread. The cyborg’s movement to other planets has become impossible since this attack has surrounded the Earth’s atmosphere. Because, because of the attack, there is not enough energy to transfer the brain data to the internet network and to travel there. In addition, this connection raises the possibility of cyborg hacking. The fastest and healthier solution to protect from this rapidly spreading virus; they gather under a protective atmosphere and live there for a while. However, Kadıköy is so stratified, cramped, high, heavy and unhealthy that there is no an place, for the living space to be designed for cyborg people.

Toxic Fluid On the other hand, the dirt and wastes of Kadıköy have changed the chemistry of the water in the sewer. It has now turned into a toxic, radioactive, semi-fluid liquid instead of hydrogen and oxygen water components. This liquid is dangerous for humans. Cyborg is not affected by gas because they do not need air and breathing to live. However, due to its acidic nature, all physical substances are corrosive to materials. Therefore, it should not be touched.

How to Build a Building?  Nebula Gas Density: The gases that evaporate when the surface fluid is collected can be collected and suspended in the air as an amorphous, nebulous density. The biggest feature of this gas is that it contains magnetic particles that do not allow the passage of viruses in cyber attack. Therefore, the fastest way to avoid hacking cyborg is to create a new life form in this density. But this nebula layer can rise up to 3-4 meters from the ground. The height of the liquid can reach up to 2 meters at different times of the year. This is very dangerous for the possibility of contacting the two layers. Therefore, a system is needed to further increase the density of this gas, which is more concentrated than the Earth’s atmosphere and is not enough.

Bounding Walls: The effect of rising and moving gas density due to the effect of the sound cables that impose the lower propulsion force must also be checked. For this purpose, an outer wall has been designed which will limit the sides and top of the nebula. The wall consisting of a solid material is carried by structures located on surfaces where the liquid is not touched. The wall is a flexible spatial feature that can vary in motion according to the movement of the nebula. As these walls move away from the point of origin, they become more free spaces and constitute the living units of cycborg. As a result, this whole system is depicting both an alternative cyborg life and any future scenario in this dystopian world..

As these walls move away from the point of origin, they become more free spaces and constitute the living units of cycborg. As a result, this whole system is depicting both an alternative cyborg life and any future scenario in this dystopian world.. In addition, a leak occurred on the canal at the level of Kadıköy-Hocapasa square. Fluid, a certain level in the gap in that areaelevated, then lowered and formed a trace on the surface. The leak continues from time to time, reaching different height levels and flow velocity, moving along the surface and flowing back into the channel in another way. Since the liquid did not spread into the whole city and was poisonous, people did not want to interfere or approach that area. This is the only area where we can call “space“ in such a dense dystopian metropolis life. This allows the space to be created for the cyborgs to be located there.
