PROJECTS.

PROJECT 1: “MY FAVOURITE ANIMAL”. Choose one of your favourite animals and learn about it (look for information using different ways: internet, books…) Prepare a document or a presentation (power point…) with this information. 1.– A picture of the animal. 2.– Scientific name 3.– Scientific classification. 4.– Write a text about: .– Is it domestic or wild?, the place where it lives... .– The way of living : is it in danger of extinction?... .- Its vital functions (nutrition, interaction, reproduction). .– Describe it writing more information...
PROJECT 2: “CELL MODEL”. In groups of four pupils: 1.– Look for information about ANIMAL AND PLANT CELL AND THEIR PARTS. 2.- You are going to learn and decide how to make a model of the cell. (you can use jelly, sweets, a pizza, plasticine… to make the model). 3.– Label each part of the cells with their names. 4.– Take pictures of the process and make a power-point presentation. 2

USE OF THE MICROSCOPE. Bring different specimens to the class: .– Insects, or parts of insects: legs, wings… .– Parts of plants: leaves, stems, fruits, (onion…) .– Other things or substances: water from a pond, human hair… 1.– In groups prepare some slides with the different specimens to watch them using the microscope. 2.– Watch these slides through the microscope. 3.- Do a picture about two samples you have watched.
