PACC Virtual Conference 2021
2
Connecting to our Past Contextualizing the Present Creating the Future In this conference, we aim to connect the past, present, and future in an effort to not only highlight and learn from the untaught, rich heritage and tradition(s) of Palestine, but to bridge the gaps between historical and present day anti-occupation and anti-Zionist efforts. By doing so, we hope to come one step closer to a collective and holistic liberation of Palestine and all historically oppressed lands and peoples.

Rebel Diaz We are Rebel Diaz. Somos hermanos- RodStarz and G1- who grew up in Chicago and came up in The South Bronx. Somos hijos de political refugees from Chile who fled a CIA-funded dictatorship in the 1970s. Revolution raised us, and the culture of Hip-Hop provided us our own Nueva Cancion. We’ve been doing rebel rap since the Clinton era, sharing our story and those of our people; el barrio, the hood, the poor, los inmigrantes. Our bilingual sound has been shaped by pieces of South American folk, house, and latin percussion gettin’ down with boom-bap breaks and 808s.

In order to provide all students with consistent engagement as well as an opportunity to create tangible change, the final class project, to be presented at the conference, aims to challenge students to think about how the various course themes can be concretized into action. Students will be split into five groups and assigned a specific topic/theme. Using resources from the course, each group will be asked to present on way(s) they envision their assigned theme can be put into direct organizing and active action that can continue beyond the length of the course. #PACCcon21
