Events Arab Fair
Our annual Arab fair was a huge success this year! Over 1,000 people attended the fair and enjoyed our dabka performances, watermelon eating contests, large variety of organizations with informational materials, a wide selection of vendors, a health fair, bounce houses, food, a dunk tank, and raffle prizes!

Book Club Discussion We collaborated with Jewish Voice For Peace and American Muslims for Palestine to host a book club discussion about Adania Shibli’s novel, Minor Details. 12 people attended and had a lively discussion about the traumatic short term and long term effects of occupation on Palestinians.
Women’s Brunch: This month, our women’s brunch focused on having a conversation about connecting to our identity and managing anxiety led by Ayah Issa and Sally Attia. We had 15 women attend the brunch sponsored by Islamic Relief and they all benefited a lot.
Palestine Monday
Remembering the Sabra and Shatila Massacre
Given the anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre this month, we held a moderated discussion to commemorate and learn more about the Sabra and Shatila Massacre with Imad Harb, the Director of Research and Analysis at the Arab Center Washington DC. We had 17 people join via zoom and 525 total views on Facebook.

Community Engagement Community Needs Analysis Survey
At PACC, we are by the community and for the community. We put together a community needs survey to deepen PACC’s understanding of the community and enhance our programs to better serve our community. We have also begun hosting focus groups to better understand your needs. We look forward to hosting more focus groups and getting more survey responses throughout October.

Hosted Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib We hosted a private meet and greet with Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. Around 100 community members attended and enjoyed a brunch reception, moderated discussion, and an open Q&A session.

National Voter Registration Day Events To encourage young adults to register to vote, we tabled at Clifton High School and encouraged students to be civically engaged. We had a total of 2 people register to vote and 10 people took registration forms.
Programs
Later on that day, we hosted an online conversation with Mayor Mohammed Khairullah of Prospect Park to discuss the importance of civic engagement and voter registration with the general public. Many community members asked important questions about how to motivate our community to vote, and the event had over 540 views on Facebook.
Computer Class We re-started our computer classes this month! The community was excited for these classes to begin again so they can learn the basics of using a computer and Microsoft Office. We have 10 people registered.

Social Service Mutual Aid
Hurricane Ida Relief Mutual Aid Event
We partnered with Power of One, a community service based organization in Clifton, to collect donations from our community for people directly affected by Hurricane Ida. We received new clothing, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and baby materials that were passed out directly to families displaced by the storm.
School Supplies Drive PACC hosted a Back to School Drive early September where we collected and distributed school supplies for families in need. The school supplies ranged from binders and notebooks to backpacks. We were able to assist the families in getting their children ready for the upcoming school year.
