Inspiring Finds: Luck 'o the Irish Ostara isn't the only holiday to grace March's wet and windy days. Although St. Patrick's Day ranges from purely Christian to a pub-hopping secular evening, Celtic pagans can use March 17 to honor their ancestors. Even if you lack so much as a drop of Irish blood, use this day to remember where many pagan traditions originated. 1. Irish Breakfast Tea, Twinings $4.49 2. Irish Blessing Thermometer, Our Corner Market $51.95 3. Tartan Messenger Bag, Zara $30 4. Celtic Tree of Life Wall Hanging, Pandoras Box $26.95 5. Traditional Irish Cream Ground Coffee, Whittard $7.05 6. Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey, Connemara $48 7. Assorted Stone Fairies, Pier 1 $13 8. Sterling Silver Claddagh Ring, JC Penney $30 9. Barbour Classic Tartan Wool Trench Hat, Joseph M $43 10.

Eggs are one of the most widespread symbols of Ostara and the day simply would not be complete without this hard-boiled version where paprika adds just the right bit of spicy kick to a smooth and creamy filling.

Hot Cross Buns are traditionally associated with the Christian holiday of Easter for which the pastry dough "cross" represents the crucifixion but these tasty treats are just as appropriate for Ostara. Here, the cross instead represents the Equinox, one of only two days out of the year when day and night are exactly equal. Plus, the zest of both a lemon and an orange makes for a sweet-tart spring treat!

Kitchen Magick By Tenae S. ~ The Witch of Howling Creek Although churning your own butter may seem like a lot of work, there is an easier way to add a magickal (and tasty!) kick to this kitchen staple. Butter at its most basic has a nurturing, protective energy, due to its source as a dairy product. There are two main kinds of butter available at every grocery store though: salted and unsalted. Salted is best on bread and in other capacities where it is allowed to shine on its own. It also has more potent cleansing properties than unsalted, as salt is a strong purification tool. Unsalted is best used in baking where you want to be able to accurately control the amount of salt in the dish and is a good blank slate for working a little kitchen witchery. Butter is most appreciated for adding flavor to dishes of every variety but you can make it even more flavorful all on its own with one of these deliciously simple recipes.
