IMAGINING CHANGE IN ARTS+ CULTURE

ARTS+CULTURE AT PAGE & TURNBULL

Creative thinking about museum design—exciting opportunities to display paintings, sculpture, artifacts, ideas, and other wonderments—often begins with creative thinking about reusing, refurbishing, restoring, and adding on to historic buildings. What was once a church, a library, or a barracks is revived as a place to let your mind wander through Monets or the land of wooly mammoths; from ancient cultures into a digital future. We’ve help create homes for delicate jade objects, mesmerizing mobiles, lowriders, and Walt Disney’s passion for creativity. All in historic buildings.

Page & Turnbull is passionate about imagining and enabling change at the intersection where the built environment we have inherited meets the way we live now. Our mission is to imagine and enable change within historic environments; to create places that respect our heritage, serve for today and become the cornerstone of our future.

Founded in 1973, we are a full-service architecture, design, planning and preservation firm that brings together architects, planners, architectural historians, and conservators.

A visit to a museum is a search for beauty, truth and meaning in our lives. Go to museums as often as you can.”

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES

We emphasize the re-use of existing buildings and the thoughtful application of new design that respect existing architectural values and the context of neighboring structures.

PLANNING & RESEARCH

Following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and relevant guidelines we analyze properties to understand what make it a historic resource.

PRESERVATION TECHNOLOGY

From condition surveys to materials analysis, we extend the service-life of buildings and ensure their character-defining features remain.

SUSTAINABILITY

Re-using existing buildings protects historic fabric and is a cornerstone of sustainability. We consider a range of established and innovative approaches to develop designs that retain the “energy in place” that existing building represents.

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Our work has been acknowledged by professional organizations and in publications. Most importantly, we are honored that the overwhelming majority most of our work is from repeat clients and referrals.
