Classical Strings 1961 Jose Ramirez This is a 1961 Jose Ramirez, spruce and Brazilian rosewood. It was restored by Aaron Green and the photos here are post restoration. This particular instrument is initialed PB, which is Paulino Bernabe. In his words Aaron states “I consider Paulino Bernabe the finest luthier to emerge from the Ramirez workshop. This example is the finest I have seen from the Ramirez workshop and is an exquisitely beautiful guitar in sound and appearance. The finish is french polish of shellac as this guitar predates the switch to modern finishes. An intoxicating instrument, it is feather light in weight and you can feel it vibrating and pulsing as you play. The sound is deep and rich with great volume and projection. A masterpiece by any standard.
