Guitarbench Magazine Issue 5. High Voltage- Bohemian Guitars.

HIGH VOLTAGE This month’s newest feature, High Voltage is intended to highlight electric guitars. But not just any electric

guitars. Cool and highly unusual electrics. We kick off this column with Bohemian Guitars. These are cool oil can guitars, made by a couple of guys who are looking to expand. Adam Lee from Bohemian Guitars says: “The idea behind creating Bohemian Guitars stems from the idea that if a guitar was more unique and relatable on a personal level people might be more inclined to pick up a guitar and find the motivation to practice. This thought is the driving force behind why we do what we do. Our goal is to make interesting and unique instruments that will encourage people to want to play the guitar. Oil can guitars are commonplace in South Africa where being resourceful is a part of everyday life. We bring a lot of inspiration from those less fortunate that need to build their instruments if they want to play one. They don’t have money to go and but their own so they build them. The added bonus we get is by promoting music education by donating a portion of our proceeds to provide instruments to those underprivileged youths so they don’t have to worry about building their own”
