AIN OBJECTIVE: Design a new product line of 3M household ÂŽ
cleaning products. Clean Habitat is a non-toxic, all natural brand, packaged using sustainable materials. SOLUTION: A gender neutral, all-natural look that targets earth and health conscious individuals and families. The packaging utilizes recycled paper with water drop shapes and tapioca-based plastics to

create an identity that is authentic and it evokes a feeling of sustainability. Identifying color groups and bold, sans serif typography helps the consumer match like products easily.

TECT OBJECTIVE: Create a brand extension for REI based on skin care products, highlighting their commitment to sustainability while standing up to the rigors of outdoor adventure and activity. SOLUTION: Latin names are used to reflect the products purpose; Nativus, meaning native or natural while Contego, meaning to protect or shield. The visual system was created using triangles to complement the mountain range of the REI logo. Pliable containers withstand the rigors of being in a pack, and the tubes can roll down so campers can easily pack out.

SIST OBJECTIVE: Design the identity and marketing campaign for the Coen Brothers’ homecoming film festival, in St Louis Park, MN. SOLUTION: Highlight the Coen Brothers’ undefined genre where their characters always seem to be backtracking, trying to find answers. The magic eight ball represents a life based on chance. The warm tonal quality of the visual system reflects their early years using a super 8 camera, and their continued commitment to use film over digital.

AGE OBJECTIVE: Produce a motion graphics video for Yonder that helps promote the app’s community and educates potential users on its benefits. SOLUTION: Vivid imagery depicts a variety of outdoor adventure and shows the connections we can have with people who enjoy the outdoors. There is motion that highlights the users interaction with the app. The typeface, Thirsty Rough, has a rugged, weathered feel and is paired with the company’s iconography. This creates a modern yet approachable visual system.

LORE OBJECTIVE: Depict the meaning of a chosen color using only experimental typography. SOLUTION: Create a series of posters that uses only handcrafted, photographed type to embody the spirit of the color green. Exploration is driven by sayings, poetry and words that reflect on the many facets of green. From lab-induced mold to homemade slime, these experiments visually encompass green’s hidden meaning through the marriage of type as image.

TEST OBJECTIVE: Create a biographical adaptation based on the works of Claes Oldenburg. Highlight his commentary on society and consumerism as well as, some of his most iconic sculptures of the 20th century. SOLUTION: Explore a grid system that offers a vast amount of white space and an architectural structure to highlight the scale of the artist’s work. The thin weight and geometry of Avenir creates contrast and draws the reader’s attention without distracting from the imagery.

SOLUTION: Expand the current audience to include the urban/suburban adventurer and increase their target market age range to 25–54. This goal is accomplished by emphasizing Eddie Bauer’s place in daily life, rather than being only for rugged outdoor use. SOLUTION: Paper Riot Co.TM is a peel and stick line of dĂŠcor created for millennials and young families to help personalize their living spaces. Our team worked to create a new persona that reflects the simple and modern feel of the product. The clean black and white look stands out on the shelves and allows the imagery to speak first.
