MISSION STATEMENT
The Benefits of Flaxseed Flaxseed offers the benefits of fiber, ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), protein and SDG lignans.* Fiber promotes regularity, supports normal functioning of the digestive tract and can have a positive effect on cholesterol.* ALA is an omega-3 essential fatty acid that supports heart health, and helps to maintain beautiful hair, skin and nails.* SDG Lignans are phytonutrients that exhibit antioxidant properties and can have a balancing effect on hormones.* The Taste of Goodness What is good taste? For most people taste is simply a matter of flavor. We believe that the taste of goodness is about making conscious and thoughtful decisions about foods we eat, the planet we share and the people we work with every day. Liteseed is a food company that specializes in creating whole flaxseed and grand flaxseed that appeal to all demographics. Manufactured in a slick, liteseed flaxseed are a healthy and benefits to human body. We use traditional paper and plasitc packaging to package our product. These tasty flaxseed contain the a lot of nutrients found in seed, but in a convenient and more attractive item that is suitable for people that are in a rush.

RESEARCH IDEAS
Before even embarking on the creation of liteseed, there was an immense amount for reserach that into the conception of the idea. One must realize the improtance that research actually does when birthing an idea or identitly because those that lack this step are domed to fail. For this reason, many aspects need to be touched upon in order to fullly grasp the potential of one’s identity. It requires investigation into logo and product ideas - and in this case, biomimicry.

CASE STUDY
Monarch Butterfly
First, I researched multiple forms in nature for the inspiration of my biomimicry concept to be applied in my packaging. I focused in on the flaxseed, the butterfly, and the Pangolin. I ended up choosing the flaxseed because it is curve and nature color, and efficient and I wanted my packaging to reflect those traits.
The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae) in the family Nymphalidae. It may be the most familiar North American butterfly. Its wings feature an easily recognizable orange and black pattern, with a wingspan of 8.9–10.2 cm (3½–4 in. Monarch butterflies are known for the incredible mass migration that brings millions of them to California and Mexico each winter. The insects must begin this journey each fall ahead of cold weather, which will kill them if they tarry too long.
This very familiar Danaus plexippus species is also known as the Monarch Butterfly. Notice the striking venous stripes represented by a darkened region on either side of each wing vein. This bold pattern is the model for other species to mimic as predators are well aware of the distasteful glycosides this species stored up from eating poisonous Milkweed plants as a caterpillar.

Pangolin
The pangolin, a mammal also known as the scaly anteater found in the tropics of Africa and Asia, has defensive scales over its entire body that are made of keratin much like our fingernails. The growth of the scales in loose distribution from the pangolin's skin allows the animal to contort and move as easily as most other animals do. However, when the pangolin is threatened it can roll up into a ball with its head tucked deep into the center with only its broadest scales on its back and tail exposed to assault.
Flaxseed
Handmade scalemail consisting of standardized pumpkin-seed-like pieces of stainless steel and stainless chainmail semi-structural backing mimics the arrangement and general form of the scales found on the pangolin. Like the pangolin the wearer of this armor can flex and contort to almost any position unimpeded by the armor.
The Pangolin backpack is a day pack that has overlapping scales like the pangolin. It's durable and protects contents better than a cloth pack. Instead of using zippers, it's kept closed using magnets.

Flax (also known as common flax or linseed), with the binomial name Linum usitatissimum, is a member of the genus Linum in the family Linaceae. It is a food and fiber crop that is grown in cooler regions of the world. In addition to referring to the plant itself, the word "flax" may refer to the unspun fibers of the flax plant. The plant species is known only as a cultivated plant, and appears to have been domesticated just once from the wild species Linum bienne, called pale flax.
Flax seeds come in two basic varieties: 1. brown; and 2. yellow or golden (also known as golden linseeds). Most types have similar nutritional characteristics and equal numbers of short-chain omega-3 fatty acids. The exception is a type of yellow flax called solin (trade name Linola), which has a completely different oil profile and is very low in omega-3 FAs. Flax seeds produce a vegetable oil known as flaxseed oil or linseed oil, which is one of the oldest commercial oils. It is an edible oil obtained by expeller pressing, sometimes followed by solvent extraction. Solvent-processed flax seed oil has been used for many centuries as a drying oil in painting and varnishing.
Flax seeds are very low carb, high nutrition seeds that are useful in a low of recipes. They are the seeds of the flax plant, which linen cloth is made from. Flax has a pleasantly nutty taste. The whole seeds keep well, but they need to be ground into meal for us to get their full nutritional benefit. A simple spice or coffee grinder can do this in seconds.

CREATIVE BRIEF
1. Needs Our design team will be redesigning the logo and packaging of a flaxseed. Currently, flaxseed are made up of plastics or paper bag and plastics container and can be very boring and without highlight product features. Also they did not point out features of flaxseed and customers can not really learn about what characteristic of product. We will thinking about design a package can deliver information and features of products. 2. Project Objective We will develop an effective logo and create packaging that reflects the colorful, positive and nature energy flaxseed package. We will have to find a sustainable material that will still represent the idea for the end product. 3. Project Strategy The project, upon completion, will be a pack of paper box with plastic bag made of a sustainable material that would represent shape of seed and I would use for the actual product. This substitute material is made of a clear and simple.Features of flax seed packaging bag:1. Save more than 70% of your storage space.2. Mositure-proof,mildew-proof,water-propf and bug-proof. We also will use color to present characteristic of flaxseed. this product will be more environmentally-friendly, healthy, quick, and fun. 4. Background The younger generation is moving towards a more “green� and "healthy" life style. This means that people lean more towards buying food with a large amount of the product rather than many smaller containers which are nature and health for human body. Flax seed is a popular food item! You can buy whole flax seeds and packaged milled flax at bulk food and health food stores, and in the health or regular food sections of major supermarkets. Check your local stores, as more outlets are carrying flax now than ever before. 5. Message This product is convenient, fun, and also great for the carry.

This manual outlines the logo and graphic identity system for grand flaxseed. This product is very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Thiamin and Manganese. But actually not too much people know about this product, so we can maintain a strong visual identity for Liteseed with consistent and appropriate use of our logo. After extensive research and exploration, we have created an identity system that will strengthen the visual impressions associated with Liteseed and build our company’s reputation for healty, high quality product. For the logo, I took inspiration from the keywords I came up with from my mind mapping and interpreted them in a visual way. I liked the idea of incorporating benefit of flaxseed. shapes and colors to represent the definition of my liteseed.
I then redrew my favorite sketches in Illustrator and continued to play with the letterforms and the shape of the graphic. I then incorporated splashes that followed the shape forms of my light to relate my logo more toproduct and refined it into what is now my final logo.

My final logo reflects both the fluid structure of a seed and the light, due to the green, brown and orange color palette. The graceful shapes of the seed present a welcoming contrast to the round and a step green layer form of the simple movement that makes up the full of energy. I incorporated uppercase and lowercase lettering on the logotype in order to maintain the curvature of the letters as well as a uniform line height. I strove to define the round qualities of the logotype by adjusting the kerning between each letter in order to provide the illusory wave motif that was prevalent in previous drafts of the logo.
