As we enter into 2022, we would like to say “Thank You” to all our valued & loyal advertisers and readers. What we do would not be possible without you. Warmest thoughts and best wishes to everyone for A Happy & Safe New Year! May peace, love and good health follow you always! We are excited to announce that Panorama turns 40 this year and it’s also our 10th anniversary as owners of the publication. It has been our

pleasure throughout the tenure serving the Greater Hazleton and surrounding areas with what we love to do! We have made a lot of changes along the way, and we continuously strive to do so for the betterment of the magazine. As a family owned business, we take pride in treating our advertisers as part of our Panorama Family! of community among local consumers. Throughout our 40th Year Anniversary, we will be announcing special promotions and giveaways. We want our readers and advertisers to celebrate with us so stay tuned for all the happenings this year. On another note… With the New Year here, there will be a lot of talk about everyone’s New Year’s resolutions. A New Year’s resolution is a decision to do or not do something, to accomplish a personal goal or break a habit. It comes at a time when people look back at the past year and make an effort to improve themselves as the New Year begins. Keep it simple and choose something that is doable for you! Remember that it takes work to keep a New Year’s resolution. Don’t worry if you slip up once or twice. If you stay committed to what you want to accomplish, you will be proud of yourself in the end. Each year I make New Year’s resolution about one thing or another. Usually it is about world peace or shedding a few unwanted pounds. That said, I am not a good prognosticator about the world in general and unfortunately, have not shed those unwanted pounds either! So in 2022, I will put the past year behind me and move forward in achieving my goals this year and I hope that you can do the same.

Discover The Benefits of Cryotherapy Close To Home What is whole body cryotherapy? Whole body cryotherapy (a.k.a. Cryo, some people even call it body freezing therapy) is the exposure of an individual to extremely low temperatures (-170 C or -274 F) for 3 minutes to decrease pain and inflammation and boost hormone and neurotransmitter levels. The result is decreased recovery time and pain from intense workouts, injuries, and chronic conditions, increased energy levels, anti-aging and mood boosting effects. How and why was whole body cryotherapy developed? Cryotherapy machines were originally developed in the 1970s to help people that suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. When dramatic improvements were seen in patients (decreased swelling, decreased pain, increased mobility) researchers began to look at whole body cryotherapy as a treatment modality for other disease such as rheumatism, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and other musculoskeletal disorder. Eventually athletes discovered cryotherapy’s benefits and it has now become widely adopted across the US. I hate the cold. Is it bearable? Describing the feeling of a treatment is like standing in front of a freezer on a hot day. It’s a chill but not painful. If you have ever done an ice bath or a

cold shower, you have endured much worse than a cryotherapy treatment. Sessions at Sacco Chiropractic & Wellness are completely dry and after 3 minutes in the chamber you immediately warm up & no longer feel cold. Will Cryotherapy make me lose weight? A single treatment can burn between 500 to 800 calories. Cryotherapy causes an increase in the amount of brown fat (brown adipose tissue) that you have in your body. Brown fat’s role in the body is to produce heat, it does this by taking calories from white fat (white adipose tissue). While individuals with higher levels of brown adipose tissue have lower body fat percentages, and you burn calories with cryo, it's always best to use this in conjunction with diet and exercise. How many sessions can I do in one day? Two sessions a day is the maximum number of treatments that a person can undergo in one day. For most people one session a day is enough. Two treatments a day is only recommended for athletes undergoing intense training camps or people with severe injuries or conditions. Is it dangerous? No, we use liquid nitrogen as the chilling agent, and it never comes in contact with your skin. Nitrogen is non-toxic, and non-flammable; it comprises 78% of the

Brought to you by Sacco Chiropractic

air we breathe. A trained operator is always present during the treatment to control the temperature and monitor your comfort. There are no locks or latches on the door, so you are able exit the cryo machine easily and quickly anytime. Who shouldn’t use it? Anyone who is currently sick, pregnant, has severe, un-managed hypertension (BP> 180/100), has a cardiac pacemaker, is being treated for cancer, has deep vein thrombosis, acute or recent myocardial infarction, uncontrolled seizures, fever, unstable angina pectoris, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases, or is under influence of drugs or alcohol. What if I am claustrophobic? Because the cryo machine is open at the top and adjusted to fit the height of the client, your head and neck are always above the opening, so you are not totally enveloped. The cryo machine has a door that is closed by 3 small magnets, it cannot be locked so you always have control over being in the chamber. You can stop the procedure at anytime by telling the operator or you can simply push open the door and step out. Continued on page 21

Debunking Common Misconceptions About Gout (Family Features) When many people think of gout, they often picture swelling and pain in the big toe. However, gout – an extremely painful form of inflammatory arthritis – can occur in any joint when high levels of uric acid in the blood lead to the formation of urate crystals. If your body creates too much uric acid or cannot clear uric acid properly, you may experience sudden and sometimes severe gout attacks, called flare-ups, that include pain, swelling or redness in your joints. The condition can disrupt many aspects of daily living, including work and leisure or family activities. “I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2009 and it wasn’t too long after that I started dealing with gout issues,” said registered nurse Theresa Caldron. “Gout affects your quality of life in a lot of different ways. You’re going through days of pain and no one knows it because you don’t look sick.” Because the kidneys filter and release uric acid, people with kidney disease are more likely to experience a buildup of urate crystals and, therefore, gout. In fact, 1 out of 10 people with chronic kidney disease have gout, and an even higher percentage of people with gout have kidney disease. To help debunk some myths around the condition, the American Kidney Fund, in partnership with Horizon Therapeutics, created the “Goutful”

education campaign, which aims to educate and empower patients with gout to help them live easier and prevent further health complications, especially relating to their kidneys. Consider these common myths: Myth: Gout is rare. Gout is a relatively common condition. More than 8 million Americans have gout, and it is the most common form of arthritis in men over 40. Myth: Gout is a man’s disease. Anyone can get gout, but it’s more common in men than women. Though men are 10 times more likely to develop gout, rates of gout even out after age 60 since gout tends to develop for women after menopause. Myth: Only people who are obese get gout. People of all sizes can develop gout. Though people who are obese are at higher risk, gout is more common in people who have other health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or kidney disease. Others more at-risk for gout are males 30-50 years old, Asians, Pacific Islanders, Black people, people with a family history of gout, people with organ transplants and people exposed to lead. Myth: Gout eventually goes away on its own. Symptoms of gout attacks often go away within a few days, but that

doesn’t mean gout is gone. Even if you don’t feel symptoms, urate crystals can build up beneath the surface, which can cause long-term health problems like joint and kidney damage. Myth: There are things you can eat to prevent or cure gout. Certain foods may help decrease the level of uric acid in your body, but diet alone is not a cure for gout. People with gout who follow healthy diets may still need medicine to prevent flare-ups and lower uric acid levels. Alcohol and foods rich in purines, especially red meat and seafood, should be avoided if you are prone to gout. If you think you might have gout, talk with your doctor or a gout specialist about your symptoms. Visit kidneyfund. org/gout to learn more about gout and kidney disease.

Treating Breast Cancer with Radiation Therapy

by the Cancer Treatment Center at Hazleton According to the American Cancer Society, over 12,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in Pennsylvania in 2021. From the moment a woman is faced with the news of an abnormal mammogram, it is impossible for her not to feel a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty. What stage is my cancer? What treatments do I need? What side effects will I have? These are all common questions a newly-diagnosed breast cancer patient may have. Another concern a breast cancer patient may have is how they are going to be treated? Patients want to be treated with respect and compassion and they want physicians who are going to listen to them honestly and openly. They want to be treated with high-quality care in a comfortable and caring environment. Having a treatment team of breast cancer

experts focused on you from that moment, being your guide with the decision-making, and ensuring the most collaborative care is the best start. There are several different types of breast cancer, with treatment options unique to every cancer patient. The role of radiation therapy for the treatment of breast cancer is very important in allowing women to preserve their breasts. Historically, women with breast cancer used to have their entire breast removed. Patients can now have the breast lump removed (lumpectomy) followed by radiation therapy to the remainder of the breast, which is now the new standard of care called breastconserving therapy. There are now multiple types of radiation therapy for the breast, including whole breast radiation therapy or partial breast radiation therapy. Patients

can also now receive radiation therapy to the breast in much shorter periods. It use to take up to six weeks of daily radiation treatments, but now many patients can get this treatment done in three weeks. There are also newer forms of radiation therapy that can just target a part of the breast rather than the whole breast and some patients can now also receive radiation at the same time of surgery. At the Cancer Treatment Center at Hazleton, we use radiation therapy to treat breast cancer. External beam radiation therapy (EBRT) is the most common type of radiation therapy for women with breast cancer. EBRT is administered with a linear accelerator (LINAC) that generates and delivers high-energy X-ray beams to the breast cancer. It destroys cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. Treatments are safe, require no hospitalization, and only take about 10 to 15 minutes. Side effects are usually minimal, and most patients return to routine activities immediately after each treatment. Increased knowledge and innovations in breast cancer diagnosis and treatments make the future bright for women diagnosed with this illness. If you, or a loved one, have had an abnormal mammogram, been diagnosed with breast cancer, or would like to receive a second opinion on breast cancer treatment, please contact the Cancer Treatment Center at Hazleton at (570) 459-3460 or visit www. Gratitude by John Degenhart, DC

Our greatest ability to heal ourselves lies within our minds. Albert Schweitzer called gratitude “the secret to life”. When we are grateful, we are peaceful, content, friendly and joyful. People who experience gratitude can cope more effectively with every day stress, show increased resilience in the face of trauma-induced stress, recover more quickly from illness, and enjoy more robust physical health. There is a widely held view that all people have a set point of, or predisposition to, happiness that cannot

Kiki's Bakery & Cafe Searching for Snowglobes

be reset. The luck of the genetic draw has some of us happier and some of us less happy from the start. But there is increasing evidence that the mental practice of being grateful for each day can transform your life to heal your past, being content for now, and having hope for the future. It is not easy to be grateful when you are surrounded by stress. So I want you to have a gratitude journal! This powerful exercise encourages reflection that allows us to regain perspective and a sense of control over the events that move throughout our lives. Don’t write down your thoughts daily, but twice per week is best. Sometimes less is more, you will avoid gratitude fatigue. Don’t recall just successes. Remembering one’s sorrows, failures, and other painful experiences will make you feel more grateful. You have to cultivate gratitude. Keep a journal, write in it twice a week, and after three weeks you will find yourself energized, inspired, and motivated further to make these practices a regular part of your life. People around you will notice that you have changed for the better. It is a challenge to find gratitude when your mind wants to complain about all your heartache. But you can develop a grateful disposition by following the advice I shared. This will transform your life. Indeed, it may be “the secret to life”. Let’s start the New Year off right!

Healthy vision for a healthier you: 5 key questions for better eye health

(BPT) - Active living and healthy vision go hand in hand. That's why protecting your eyes is so important. As you make informed choices to improve your wellbeing in 2022, here's some important information that can help better your eye health too. These frequently asked questions about glaucomacan serve as a guide to take care of your vision in the year ahead. 1. What is glaucoma? Glaucoma is caused by eye pressure that is too high and can damage the optic nerve. The most common form of glaucoma is open-angle glaucoma, where pressure builds slowly and often without warning. More importantly, early damage from glaucoma typically causes loss of side vision, which may not be noticeable until extensive irreversible damage has occurred. Left untreated, glaucoma can lead to worsening vision and irreversible blindness. The best way to manage glaucoma is through early detection and treatment. Step one in that process is having a regular eye exam. 2. How do I find an eye doctor? The start of a new year is the perfect time to make annual eye exams part of your healthy lifestyle. At your appointment, an eye doctor - either an ophthalmologist or Continued on page 16 Trained, Licensed & Insured

Take Charge of Factors Effecting Your Heart Health

(Family Features) Cholesterol – a waxy substance created by the liver or consumed from meat, poultry and dairy products – isn’t inherently “bad” for you. In fact, your body needs it to build cells and make vitamins and other hormones. However, too much “bad” LDL cholesterol, or not enough “good” HDL cholesterol, can pose problems. High cholesterol is one of the major controllable risk factors for heart disease and stroke. Because it typically has no symptoms, you may not know you have high cholesterol until it’s causing problems. Knowing key health numbers like blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol, and working closely with your doctor to manage them, are keys to preventing heart disease and stroke. Those who have already experienced a heart attack or stroke or have family

According to the American Heart Association, as many as 1 in 4 survivors will have another heart attack or stroke. Make Healthy Menu Choices A healthy eating plan is a well-rounded diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables (at least 4-5 servings each day). Limit sweets, sugarsweetened beverages, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium and fatty or processed meats. Get Moving You likely know exercise is good for you, but an Oxford University study revealed simply swapping 30 minutes of sitting with low-intensity physical activity can reduce your risk of death by 17%. Mortality aside, in its Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services noted physical activity offers numerous benefits to improve health, including a lower risk of diseases, stronger bones and muscles, improved mental health and cognitive function and lower risk of depression. The greatest impacts come from getting the recommended amount of activity: at least 150 minutes of moderate activity, 75 minutes of vigorous activity or a combination of those activities per week. Be sure to discuss with your doctor which activities may be best for you.

Reduce Stress Constant or chronic stress can have real consequences on both emotional and physical health. In fact, research shows chronic stressors like long work hours, financial stress and work-life conflict may be as risky for health as secondhand smoke, according to a report by the Behavior Science and Policy Association. Aside from the toll on your body – including elevated risk for heart disease and stroke from high blood pressure, depression or anxiety – stress can lead to unhealthy habits like overeating, physical inactivity and smoking. Exercise is an effective way to keep your body healthy and release stress. You might also consider incorporating meditation and mindfulness practices into your day to allow yourself a few minutes to distance yourself from daily stress. Research compiled by the American Heart Association suggests meditation can reduce blood pressure, improve sleep, support the immune system and increase your ability to process information. Receiving a diagnosis of glaucoma can be alarming. The good news is that there are a range of treatments to help you and your doctor manage your condition. Medical treatment for eye diseases, including glaucoma, is typically covered by health insurance. Check with your healthcare provider for specifics on your level of coverage. If your treatment plan includes prescription medications such as eye drops, be sure to shop around at various pharmacies to find the best price. If you are at high risk of glaucoma, you are eligible for an annual glaucoma screening through Medicare, which also may help cover glaucoma medications and treatments. 4. How can I better manage my eye medications? Properly taking prescription eye drops to manage pressure in your eye can be a fundamental part of the glaucoma treatment routine. When using eye drops, it's important to follow your doctor's instructions, always wash your hands, and keep your eye dropper clean. If you are having trouble keeping up with your dosing schedule, talk to your eye doctor about options for reducing the number of drops you take, including options for in-office laser treatment. 5. LVHN Now Offering Pfizer-BioNTech Booster for Children 16-17 Years Families can now schedule PfizerBioNTech booster shots for children 16-17 years by appointment only at all Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) COVID-19 vaccine clinic locations. This is in response to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granting the booster emergency use authorization (EUA) for this age group on Thursday, Dec. 9, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) endorsing it on the same day. Children age 16-17 who had their previous Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines at least six months earlier can receive the booster shot. “Preliminary research has shown that booster shots help strengthen our protection against new variants of COVID-19,” says infectious diseases physician Timothy Friel, MD, Chair, Department of Medicine, for LVHN. “Data suggest that levels of protection

from the initial series can decrease with time. The additional shot six months after the initial series provides significant reduction in risk of acute illness and the other complications of COVID-19.” While teenagers are less likely to be severely affected by COVID-19 than individuals in older age groups, they can still become infected, experience symptoms from the disease and need to be hospitalized. Some also develop multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), a complication that involves inflammation of certain organs (including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes or gastrointestinal organs). Possible side effects: The most common side effects of the booster vaccine are mild and resolve within a few days. They include: Pain, redness

With prompt medical treatment and rest, these cases typically resolve quickly. The FDA took these cases into account when considering EUA for this age group and determined that the benefits of the booster outweigh the risk. “The risk for myocarditis and pericarditis is much higher if these children develop COVID-19,” Friel says. “In addition, they are at risk of developing other medical complications from COVID-19, including life-threatening conditions like MIS-C and some of the chronic symptoms of long COVID.” Continued on next page

Cases of COVID, fueled by transmission of both the delta and omicron stains, are spiking in multiple states. According to the New York Times data base, more than 120,000 new cases are reported in the US each day. This is more than a 70% increase from November. And to date 800,000 Americans have died from COVID, a figure that might reach 1 million by mid spring. Unfortunately, we now know that two vaccinations of the two most widely distributed vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are not enough. For this reason, health authorities are advising that all Americans who are eligible — those 16 and older who received their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine dose at least six months ago— get a booster. And get it now. The same holds true for those who have received the singledose Johnson & Johnson shot at least two months ago. The good news is that Pfizer has developed a pill to combat COVID. Preliminary data suggests that this medication will prevent nearly 90% of hospitalizations and deaths in high-risk patients. And the pill seems to be effective against the omicron variant. Will we need yet another booster down the road? Stay tuned. COVID isn’t going away anytime soon.

Shifting Wellness Attitudes Shape 2022 Fitness Trends (Family Features) In adjusting to the constraints of the pandemic, many Americans had to improvise where and how they work out. After months of adapting to a “gym anywhere” mentality and learning to accommodate more flexible workout schedules, this new fitness mindset is inspiring some larger trends for healthier living. “We’ve learned that wellness is not one-size fits all, and that it’s achieved by small habits like regular hydration that can really impact how you feel throughout the day,” said celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak, MsC. “Collectively, nourishing both body and mind together as one makes holistic health a sustainable lifestyle.” Pasternak and the experts at Propel Fitness Water are forecasting five fitness and wellness trends to watch for in 2022: Accountability Buddies When gym closures ran rampant, folks leaned on others for inspiration to get moving, so it’s no surprise working out in pairs (or

more) is a continued way to focus on fitness. Feelings of burnout may be common heading into 2022, so having a partner who gives you a healthy sense of camaraderie and competition can help push you to show up on days when you’d rather rest and stay committed to your goals. It also provides a sounding board when you need suggestions for nutritious recipes or fresh at-home cardio ideas. Versatility in Gym Spaces and Schedules When a large segment of the workforce started working from home, the rituals of before- and after-work gym visits fell by the wayside. People grew more accustomed to improvising where they work out, whether it was their neighbor’s garage, their living room or a running path in the city. As exercisers are less beholden to studio or gym schedules, the “gym anywhere” mentality is a level of flexibility many are holding on to. Health in Small, Achievable Doses This trend is all about recognizing health transformations don’t happen overnight, and even modest steps can make a big difference in how you feel throughout the day. One example is paying more attention to your hydration. If you aren’t properly hydrated, few other things tend to go right.

Wellness Goals vs. Fitness Committing to overall wellness is more about lifestyle changes than numbers like weight loss or muscle mass. People embracing this trend are forgoing numeric goals based on performance in the gym or on the scale and instead emphasizing outcomes that affect life, nourishing both body and mind together as one. Fitness goals are an essential component, but so is supporting your mental health as well as being cognizant of what you’re putting into your body. Low-Impact Workouts This year, walking treadmill challenges gained virality on social media, marking the increasing popularity of workouts that are low impact yet effective. Getting moving is the key, even if it means taking your tempo down. In fact, less time- and energy-intensive workouts are easier to sustain and can often yield the same, or better, results. Don't Let Winter Wage War On Your Skin

(Family Features) When temperatures cool and you start layering on more clothes, you may think your skin is better protected since it’s less exposed to the elements. However, that’s not always the case. Cold, dry winter air can take quite a toll on your skin. Your skin naturally produces oils that help keep skin supple and soft, but you may need a helping hand if you notice signs of dry skin like redness, itching or irritation. Serious symptoms include flakes and cracks, which can be painful and lead to infection, so it’s important to address any problems before they progress that far with simple tips like these. Drink plenty of fluids. Even when it’s cooler outdoors and you may be sweating less, you can still get dehydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps keep your whole body hydrated so your skin isn’t pulling from limited resources. Treat problem spots. Hands, elbows and especially feet are common danger zones when it comes to dry skin. To eliminate layers of dry skin on feet, try an option like the Amope Pedi Perfect Electronic Foot File, which smooths hard skin effortlessly using microabrasive particles made with finely ground diamond crystals. Be smart about the sun. The sun’s rays may not feel as hot on your skin, but that doesn’t mean they’re not causing damage. Always use sunscreen when you’ll be outdoors for extended periods of time. Also remember snow acts like water and can reflect the sun’s rays back on your skin, which may cause burns. Dress with care. When selecting your wardrobe, be conscious of how long your skin will be exposed and do your best to cover it, especially if it’s cold or windy. Pay attention to the fabric, as certain types of material can be more drying and irritating. Cotton, silk and cashmere are skin-friendly fabric options. Find more tips for winter skin care at amope.com.

Can I catch cold because of whole body cryotherapy treatment? No, you can’t. Quite opposite, the stimulation of the immune system can help decrease the severity and frequency of future colds; however, if you are currently sick it is strongly recommended that you do not use the cryotherapy machine. I have metal or plastic implants in my body can I do cryotherapy? Yes, absolutely. Having implant(s) inside your body (for example metal plate in your arm or breast augmentations) is not a problem for those looking to do cryotherapy. s r e t t Ma Should Inflation Effect Your Investment Moves? by Edward Jones - Financial Advisors As you know, inflation heated up in 2021, following years of pretty stable – and low – numbers. And now, early in 2022, we’re still seeing elevated prices. As a consumer, you may need to adjust your activities somewhat, but as an investor, how should you respond to inflation? First, it helps to know the causes of this recent inflationary spike. Essentially, it’s a case of basic economics – strong demand for goods meeting inadequate supply, caused by material and labor shortages, along with shipping and delivery logjams. In other words, too many dollars chasing too few goods. Once the supply chain issues begin to ease and consumer spending moves from goods to services as the COVID-19 pandemic wanes, it’s likely that inflation will moderate, but it may still stay above pre-pandemic levels throughout 2022.

Given this outlook, you may want to review your investment portfolio. First, consider stocks. Generally speaking, stocks can do well in inflationary periods because companies’ revenues and earnings may increase along with inflation. But some sectors of the stock market typically do better than others during inflationary times. Companies that can pass along higher costs to consumers due to strong demand for their goods – such as firms that produce building materials or supply steel or other commodities to other businesses – can do well. Conversely, companies that sell nonessential goods and services, such as appliances, athletic apparel and entertainment, may struggle more when prices are rising. Of course, it’s still a good idea to own a variety of stocks from various industries because it can help reduce the impact of Thomas W Seigendall Financial Advisor 24 West Broad Street Hazleton, PA 18201 570-455-5376

market volatility on any one sector. And to help counteract the effects of rising prices, you might also consider investing in companies that have a long track record of paying and raising stock dividends. (Keep in mind, though, that these companies are not obligated to pay dividends and can reduce or discontinue them at any time.) Apart from stocks, how can inflation affect other types of investments? Think about bonds. When you invest in a bond, you receive regular interest payments until the bond matures. But these payments stay the same, so, over time, rising inflation can eat into your bond’s future income, which may also cause the price of your bond to drop – a concern if you decide to Continued on next page

Financial wellness is even more critical as many Americans seek personal change account as you begin a new chapter in (BPT) - As we continue to navigate the economic impact of the pandemic, a Prudential Financial survey* finds more than half of Americans have made a significant change in their lives in the past 18 months, and three-quarters are considering life changes in the future; changes that include switching jobs, taking time off from work and retirement. According to Brad Hearn, Prudential's president of Retail Advice and Solutions, for those considering making a major financial change, now isn't necessarily the time to throw caution to the wind. "For many, the impact of the pandemic has been life changing, from income disruption, job loss and even reduced or eliminated employer contributions to insurance and retirement plans. Any financial decision needs to be carefully planned before executing," said Hearn. To help get your financial status ready to support a significant change in your life,

Continued from previous page, sell the bond before it matures. The impact of inflation is especially sharp on the price of longer-term bonds because of the cumulative loss of purchasing power. However, Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) can provide some protection against inflation. The face value, or principal amount, of each TIPS is $1,000, but this principal is adjusted based on changes in the U.S. Consumer Price Index. So, during periods of inflation, your principal will increase, also increasing your interest payments. When inflation drops, though, your principal and interest payments will decrease, but you’ll never receive less than the original principal value when the TIPS mature. Talk to your financial advisor to determine if TIPS may be appropriate for you. Ultimately, inflation may indeed be something to consider when managing your investments. But other factors – especially your risk tolerance, time horizon and long-term goals – should still be the driving force behind your investment decisions. A solid investment strategy can serve you well, regardless of whether prices move up or down.

JANUARY 2022

Hearn offers these tips: Conduct a financial wellness assessment: Take advantage of free tools like this financial wellness assessment to help you create a plan to reach your financial goals. From retirement planning to household budgeting, you can see where your finances currently stand and how to plan ahead for the future. Set clear goals and make a plan: What do you plan to achieve with your money in the next few years and in the long run? Maybe it's to plan for a secure retirement, maybe it's to manage debt or it's about upping your investing game. Set a detailed plan toward the goals. You can also tap a financial advisor for guidance and help. Focus on building up your savings: Charting a new path doesn't mean you should stop building savings. Quite the opposite. It can be even more important to establish a routine to fuel a savings

your life. Doing so will provide flexibility, relief and, in some cases, security should there be any unexpected twists and turns. These simple steps can help you establish a more secure foundation, whether or not you're one of the many Americans embarking on a new path in 2022.

The IRS Has Yet To Release New Tax Laws By Alice Horton-Barr, CEO, Honest Abe's Taxes, Inc. Like most years, we enter January without full knowledge of the tax law or when we can begin to submit your returns (after you get your W-2 and other documents). We do have some information that is vital to share with taxpayers. In January, the IRS will be mailing out vital documents to your 2021 tax filing. You need to keep tract of these documents: 1) IRS Identity Theft Pin, if you are registered; 2) Interest Income Statements when the IRS gave you Interest Income because they held your refund for so long; 3) Letter 6475 which identifies the dollar amount of Stimulus for the $1400 round that was sent or deposited to your mail/bank; and 4) Letter 6419 which will tell how much the IRS sent you in early Child Tax Credit from July through December. One new tax law is giving a bigger credit for Child Care Credit Expenses. It is refundable this year. For one child you can be covered up to $8,000 and for 2 or more $16,000. Due to the refund ability it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that if you claim this credit you provide

your tax preparer a completed W10 or substitute W10 from your day care provider. This form should show who was paid, their Federal EIN or SSN, their address, the amount you paid them, the child that was covered by Day Care Expense and an authorized signature of the Day Care Facility. Also this year it is becoming more important that when you come in to have your taxes prepared you have proof your dependents lived with you. Day Care Receipts, W-2, SS Income, Bank Account, Mail with their name at your address, Health Insurance Coverage, A Doctor or School Record, your Lease with their name on the lease are all great documents to bring. You only need to bring one but two does not hurt. If you had coverage through the Market Place, you must bring in your form 1095A showing your coverage information for your taxes to be prepared accurately. Need a career boost? Try an accelerated degree (BPT) - Amidst dramatic shifts in the national workforce and ever-changing job market, those in or entering their careers without formal education face an uphill challenge. In a recent survey, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that nearly half of the more than 800 occupations they analyze annually require a college degree. Those occupations at the bachelor's or master's degree level are now netting graduates about $36,000 more in median annual salary than those at an associate's level or less - and this trend is likely to continue increasing. With such a wide wage gap, it's clear that undergraduate and graduate degrees are profitable investments for employees looking to upskill or change careers and first-year students alike. However, the cost of these degrees and the time needed to complete them can still be a barrier. Fortunately, innovative universities now offer an alternative: earn both degrees in less time. Arizona State University is leading the way by creating affordable 4+1 degree programs, allowing students to concurrently complete an undergraduate and graduate degree. The ASU Online 4+1 programs include degrees for in-demand fields such as information technology and health care. Students in any of these online programs are able to fast-track their degrees and accelerate their career potential by saving up to a year of master's coursework and tuition. Is an accelerated degree program the next step in your career path? When evaluating your options, consider how much time these programs take to complete, the total cost and how they may affect your career outcomes. Time Generally, it takes a minimum

of four years to attain a bachelor's degree and an additional two years to graduate with a master's. An accelerated program allows learners to shorten the time it takes to attain either of these degrees. ASU Online, for instance, combines undergraduate and graduate coursework during senior year for dual credit, so a student receives both degrees in five years. This process isn't exclusive to first-timein-college students. Transfer students can also benefit from an accelerated degree program. They can complete these degrees even faster by working with their academic counselor to chart a plan for which courses they need to take to be on track with an accelerated program. What's more, the pace and structure of online programs allow learners to maintain employment while they get their degree. Earning while learning is especially advantageous to master's degree students who are less likely to receive grant aid, fellowships or tuition waivers. Career outcomes Looking to the future, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects to add the most jobs in 2020-2030 in industries where careers typically require an advanced degree. While some individuals may have a defined passion and clear career path, others may not know what credentials are necessary to pursue a position in their desired industry. Conducting research on what occupations are growing and what knowledge can help you enter those fields can yield beneficial results. When considering employment trends for thru 2030, the bureau projects health care and social assistance will add the most jobs of all industries, with an estimated 3.3 million jobs. Technological advancements will also increase the long-term demand for computer-

related occupations, especially with the rise of teleworking, which has expanded the need for computing infrastructure and IT security. ASU Online, aiming to make education accessible for students across the country, currently offers more than 30 accelerated 4+1 degree programs. Several programs can lead to careers in these rising industries, nursing, biological sciences, information technology, internet and web development, and global cybersecurity. No matter the career, the path to attaining necessary knowledge and experience can be rewarding. Research universities that offer the degree or certification program you're looking for online, and that are specifically designed and have dedicated resources to work with online learners. Art & Antiques By Dr. Lori Family Collectibles Enliven Home Decor By Dr. Lori Verderame January is the time of the year when home goods are featured for shoppers in stores and online. Why not use your cherished family heirlooms when you decorate or re-decorate your home? No family heirlooms are “too precious” for everyday display and enjoyment. Display these items proudly and creatively all around your home. Highlight antique and vintage objects that remind you of family and friends of years past. Objects from events like family reunions, holidays, and vacations are great display pieces including old scrapbooks and photos in vintage frames. Consider having those old photos digitized and load them into a slide show photo frame. Pull out those old high school yearbooks, scrapbooks, and wedding albums. Give them center stage on the family room coffee table, on a side table on the lanai, or on a bedroom nightstand at the cabin. Paper collectibles are fun to use as graphic and visually stimulating decorations. Like books, they are interesting to hold, read, and view. Fill a decorative box with old newspaper articles about your hometown, college campus, or favorite vacation spot, etc. Add old school report cards, class pictures, i.d. cards from previous jobs,

hand drawn maps to vacation cabins, newspaper clippings, college i.d. cards, dog’s old collar or tags, expired library cards, etc. Depending on the size of the box, it can be placed on a shelf by the hearth or on the floor near a comfy chair and then opened occasionally for some spirited chatter. Place another memory box filled with stuff in the guest room so grandma and grandpa can enjoy looking through the memory box when they come to visit. Certain antiques and vintage collectibles lend themselves to specific rooms in your home. For instance, hang Grandma’s beaded purse from the 1940s on the handle of a guest room or powder room door. Make Grandpa’s old golf clubs a feature in the foyer or back door mud room by leaning them in a corner so they can be seen as friends enter the house. Place an old flour-sugar-coffee-tea canister set from auntie’s kitchen in the playroom as a catch-all for the kids’ school art projects like white-glue macaroni picture frames and clay ashtrays. For kids’ drawings, don’t frame them professionally. Just go to the craft store and get some small inexpensive wooden table easels and position them around the house. If you want to display your kids’

artwork on a wall for a longer period of time, consider a poster frame with plexiglass for a lightweight display option. Family heirlooms are great options for home décor and they will make decorating your home a memorable experience. Dr. Lori Verderame is the award-winning Ph.D. antiques appraiser and artifacts expert on History channel’s #1 rated show, The Curse of Oak Island, about the world’s oldest treasure hunt. Digatherm Technology at Dr. Kenneth Trippett, West Hazleton Vet! by West Hazleton Veterinary Hospital The Digatherm technology now available at West Hazleton Veterinary Hospital measures the radiated energy from the animals tissue. The difference in radiated energy is measured by temperature and color associated with change. The high-resolution camera and software can detect changes of less than 0.020C - that's 20 times more sensitvie than your fingers at detecting small changes in heat and 10 times more sensitive at detecting cold. Various color palettes help us to visualize the changes as het and cold is conducted to the surface of the body. Hotter areas depict inflammation while cooler areas indicate a lack of circulation. This allows the staff of West Hazleton Veterinary Hospital detect trouble spots for your pets and allow them to develop a treatment plan. Hall of Fame Edition & MORE

BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS THEY PLAYED HERE... by Rich Lipinski In January the results of 2022 Hall of Fame vote will be announced. This year’s ballot is crowded with players who made their home in NEPA for all or parts of a season in Scranton. Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Scott Rolen played for the Red Barons on their way to the majors. Curt Schilling, Roger Clemens, and Alex Rodriguez all made rehab appearances for the local team. There is a good chance for a variety of reasons that none of them will make it to the Hall. However only 9% of the over 22,000 MLB players played the required ten years to be on a Hall of Fame ballot. These players do represent the rarified air of MLB all time greats. NEPA has seen its share of locally born or players who played in the area and eventually made the Hall of Fame. Two players who had successful appearances in our area went on to the ultimate recognition in other sports. Ken Strong and Nathaniel "Sweetwater" Clifton played professional baseball in our area and went on to become Hall of Famers in other sports. Ken Strong Ken Strong was a Hall of Fame running back and kicker for 12 seasons in the NFL, and he was the hero of the 1934 Championship game when he scored 17 points in the New York Giants 30-13 win over the Chicago Bears. The aftermath of a wrist injury prevented him from starring in the major leagues. A football and baseball star at New York University, Strong played the 1929 season at New Haven in the Eastern League before joining the NFL’s Staten Island Stapletons in September. In 104 games at New Haven, Strong hit .283 with 21 home runs. After hitting .272 in 27 games at New Haven in 1930, he was sent to Hazleton in the New York Penn League. Strong hit .373 with 41 home runs in 117 games at Hazleton. On June 8th he hit four home runs in a game. According to SABR researcher Bob McConnell, Strong was the 24th professional player to achieve this feat. On June 7th he hit three home runs, for a total of seven home runs over two days. The 41 homers still remain as the single season record for the Eastern League, a season he started late and left early to play football. He was considered a top prospect and his contract was purchased by the Detroit Tigers who sent him to Toronto in the International League in 1931.At Toronto he was batting .340 through 118 games when he broke his wrist. Strong underwent a surgical procedure in Detroit which included the removal of part of his wrist bone and was limited to kicking during the 1931 NFL season. Strong was given a good shot at making the Tigers opening day roster, but he was slow to recover from the surgery. When the Tigers sent Strong to New York for a second surgery, it was discovered that the wrong bone had been removed during the first procedure, permanently damaging Strong’s wrist. In 1933 Strong sued that doctor for $250,000, the equivalent of more than $4.4 million today. Strong claimed the surgery robbed him of the opportunity to play major league ball and limited his ability in the NFL. Strong was awarded $75,000 and the verdict was upheld on a later appeal.

6 Tips to Keep Pets Safe and Warm This Winter (Family Features) Just as people prepare their homes, cars and families for extreme temperatures and weather events of winter, it’s important to remember pets’ needs this time of year. As cold weather sets in, Dr. Jennifer Freeman, DVM, resident veterinarian at PetSmart, shares these tips to prepare and ensure your pets are warm and happy throughout winter. Take Caution When Outdoors When temperatures reach levels of extreme cold, Freeman recommends limiting outdoor walks and monitoring your pet’s behavior for signs of stress or discomfort. Letting your dog outside to use the bathroom or go for a quick walk is OK, but never leave a pet outside for a long period of time, especially during a winter storm. “Don’t let your dog off its leash after snowfall, as snow can mask familiar scents,” Freeman said. “This can cause your pet to become disoriented or lost if they get too far away.” Add Extra Layers Despite efforts to limit time outdoors, your pet needs to go outside for bathroom breaks and exercise. Pets who are small, short-haired, old or have any health issues or illnesses may be more sensitive to cold weather. Pet sweaters can help keep your pet warm. If your pet is shivering, that’s a sign they need extra layers. To help trap body heat and protect paws from extreme cold, consider using booties when venturing outside.

Watch out for Hazardous Chemicals Many people use snow-melting products like deicers, antifreeze and salt, which can cause skin irritation and be fatal if ingested by your pet. Pet parents should keep an eye on their pets when they’re outside and be mindful of hazards. After a walk, it’s important to thoroughly rinse your pet’s paws and stomach, Freeman said, especially after walking in areas where these products are frequently used. Keep Skin Protected Just like humans, many pets get dry skin during the winter. When your pet needs a bath, try using a pet-friendly moisturizing shampoo to help keep skin healthy and hydrated. If your pet’s skin seems extra dry, supplements like fish oil can be added to your pets’ food to help the skin and coat. It’s important to keep an eye on skin health and check with your vet if issues persist as they could be signs of larger problems. Have an Emergency Plan “While creating emergency kits in case of a storm or power outage, don’t forget about your pet’s needs,” Freeman said. “A pet’s kit should include supplies needed to keep them fed, warm and secure during emergency conditions like blizzards or extreme cold. Items like sweaters, insulated vests, paw booties, pet-safe ice melt and a heated bed or pad can help avoid risks associated with freezing temperatures.” Gather any other care items your pet may require such as medications, puppy pads, waste bags, litter box supplies and calming spray. Freeman also suggests storing a one-week supply of food in a

One superstar of the menu at many homegating parties is salsa, whether it’s used as a finishing touch in recipes or as a standalone snack to enjoy with chips, veggies or other pairings. In fact, according to the Game Day Eats Report from Fresh Cravings, 22% of guests would insist on running out to pick up salsa if it wasn’t available for the feast; 18% would even be devastated and consider leaving.

Chef Anthony Serrano recommends these all-American recipes he makes for his family on game day. Pulled Beef and Slaw Sliders are perfect for piling high with delicious toppings before hitting the couch just in time for kickoff. Snacking throughout the action is a preferred approach for many fans, making Cast-Iron Smoked Queso Dip and Hummus Deviled Eggs go-to options for armchair quarterbacks. These crowd-pleasers make game day worth celebrating, especially if you use a salsa with high-quality ingredients like vineripened tomatoes, crisp vegetables, zesty peppers and spices found in Fresh Cravings Salsas. Their flavor-packed, vibrant recipe offers a homemade-tasting alternative to the softer, duller blends of jarred salsa.

Seedlip: The Non-Alcoholic Option for Your Dry January and Beyond (BPT) - If you're choosing to follow a possibly over-indulgent holiday season with a dry January, you're not alone. Last year, YouGovAmerica reported that 15% of Americans planned to participate in the Dry January challenge, whether for health reasons or just a lifestyle reset - and the trend shows no sign of slowing down. This burgeoning lifestyle is showing permanence in consumer drinking choices. Nielson saw a 315% increase in online non-alcoholic beverage sales over the past year, according to Business Insider, which analysts predict will continue through 2022. Master distiller Ben Branson, founder of Seedlip - the pioneering spirit in the non-alcoholic category and global lifestyle brand. Disappointed by the taste of non-alcoholic cocktail options while out for dinner one night, Branson brainstormed ways to combine his passion for nature and family farming background with his desire for truly unique, great-tasting non-alcoholic spirits. His experimentation led to creating Seedlip, a one-of-a-kind non-alcoholic spirit that is calorie-, sugar- and carb-free. A new non-alcoholic option Seedlip is redefining the Dry January challenge by showing consumers the lifestyle choice doesn't need to be "dry" or a "challenge" - nor does it mean abstaining from socializing! Seedlip distills ingredients sustainably derived from nature to create unique spirits to be enjoyed simply with club soda, ginger ale and a twist of lime, or as the basis of innovative, tasty non-alcoholic cocktails.

Flavors from nature Seedlip harvests specific combinations of flavors to create expressions that connect imbibers to nature and their roots. Each Seedlip blend is handcrafted with six carefully selected botanicals: Seedlip Grove 42 is a bright citrus blend with a dry finish, made with bitter orange, blood orange, mandarin, lemongrass, lemon and ginger. Seedlip Spice 94 features a warm, aromatic blend of allspice and cardamom with fresh citrus top notes to balance a long bitter finish. Other ingredients include cascarilla, oak, grapefruit and lemon. Seedlip Garden 108 is a fresh, herbal blend of peas and traditional garden herbs including rosemary, thyme, spearmint, hay and hops. Where can you find these spirits? While good tasting non-alcoholic cocktail offerings were tough to find when Branson first started searching, today many restaurants have embraced the concept, with Seedlip leading the way. You can now find Seedlip spirits worldwide. For nights out with friends, Seedlip recently released a Seedlip Map featuring neighborhood bars, restaurants and hotels that offer its delicious non-alcoholic cocktails in cities across the U.S. The map's launch will showcase locations in Los Angeles,

simple and Delicious dishes to celebrate

CHINESE NEW Year

Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival, is the most important celebration observed in China, with cultural and historic significance. The festival signals the beginning of spring, and the start of a new year according to the Chinese lunar calendar. The festival is celebrated across the country, but also has many related celebrations in nations and ethnic groups deriving from China. This year, Chinese New Year begins on February 1st and end with the Lantern Festival on February 15th. Legend states that the Chinese New Year stemmed from an ancient battle against the Nian, a terrifying beast that attacked people and ate children. The people used fireworks and firecrackers to chase the beast away. This tradition has been continued until the present time and the festival serves as a time to gain good fortune.

Keeping your furnace clean, lubricated and properly adjusted can save about five percent on heating costs. A technician from S.J. WHAT THERMOSTAT SETTING IS BEST? — Agreeing on where to set the thermostat isn’t easy. To save money, set it as low as possible while still maintaining a comfortable temperature, usually between 65 to 70 degrees. If you aren’t home during the day, consider lowering it even more. 3 Tips To Boost Your Home Design With Energy-Efficient Led Bulbs (BPT) - If you dream about transforming your home on a budget, chances are you've considered new paint, area rugs or window treatments. While these updates can refresh rooms without breaking the bank, there's a crucial and often overlooked design element that can truly transform a room - lighting. The good news is, improving lighting doesn't necessarily require all new fixtures. Simply swapping from standard to LED lightbulbs can upgrade the ambience of your home with stylish features and energysaving benefits that can have a dramatic impact on your energy bill - and the look and feel of your overall space. Lighting can alter the appearance of paint, furnishings and decor, becoming even more important as seasons change. Here are a few bright ideas to revamp rooms using the power of the humble lightbulb: 1. Go LED for cost savings - Select LED bulbs reduce household energy costs over the course of their lifetime. An EcoSmart lightbulb saves $0.55-$2.65 on average per bulb over its 25,000-hour lifetime. New LED lightbulbs offer the latest innovation in lighting technology and are available in a wide assortment of wattage outputs, colors, base options and shapes. 2. Consider function - LEDs are directional light sources, enabling them to cast light and use energy more efficiently. When choosing your ideal lightbulb style, consider the room's purpose. A kitchen needs to be bright to aid food preparation,

but your bedroom should be a restful, cozy oasis. For a living room, you may want to switch from a game-and-puzzle center with focused lighting to a darkened home theater for movie night. 3. Choose "color temperature" to change the mood - Today's LED bulbs offer a wide variety of color temperatures, empowering you to make the room feel warmer and cozier, or cooler and crisper. Contrary to what you may think, the hotter the light source (measured in Kelvins), the cooler the "color temperature," so lights with temperatures at 5,000 or more Kelvins look brighter, crisper and more bluish. However, light temperatures around 2,500-3,000 Kelvins emit an amber, yellowish or orange tinge which makes rooms feel warmer and cozier.

Experiment with different bulbs and settings to see what works best with your room. For the ultimate color selection, try an EcoSmart lightbulb with 5 CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) that lets you customize the color of light using an integrated switch. Bulbs equipped with DuoBright technology empower you to adjust the color temp. and brightness with your existing dimmer switch to meet your preferences any time - emitting 5,000 Kelvins (Daylight) at full brightness and slowly transitioning to 2,000 Kelvins (Sunset Glow) when dimmed. Change your lightbulbs, change the world - The other good news about swapping out lightbulbs? You're helping the environment, too. On average, an enhanced EcoSmart LED bulb uses 85% less energy than a traditional incandescent lightbulb. Learn more about EcoSmart lightbulbs available exclusively in-store at The Home Depot or online at HomeDepot.com.

Automatic Braking Systems by Thomas R. Buff I am sure we can all think back to a time when we had a close call while driving, especially in today’s world of distracted driving. In many cases we believe that by hitting the brakes earlier we could have avoided that fender bender or the deer that jumped out in front of our car. But our reaction time may not be fast enough in certain circumstances. Whether it be by a lack of focus or unavoidable reasons, unfortunate accidents do occur. Things happen that are sometimes beyond our control. But the difference in avoiding a collision comes down to one fact – a split second or a few feet can be the difference. Automatic emergency braking is defined as an active braking safety system that can detect a potential collision and passively activate the braking system automatically. It is designed to slow or stop a vehicle before it collides with the object in its path. This system takes away the human error factor through the use of radar and visual light in order to detect an object in its path. It can also increase the braking forced needed if the driver is applying the brakes without enough force to prevent a collision. Most AEB systems detect not only vehicles but can sense anything in its path including pedestrians, animals and cyclists.

Although the technology varies from one manufacture to the next, most AEB systems utilize radar technology, sensors and cameras to detect an object and thus an imminent collision. The system takes over and warns the driver through the use of an audible beeping noise and/or flashing lights on the dash. This is to get the driver to focus on the danger. If the driver does not react, then technology takes over and brings the vehicle to a stop in a controlled manner. This is all done in a minute fraction of time, seconds or less. Many manufactures have been utilizing Automatic Emergency Braking systems since about 2017. Twenty automakers in the United States that actually represent 99 percent of the market in our country will make AEB systems

standard on almost all models manufactured for 2022. This commitment of manufactures is expected to prevent at least 42,000 crashes and 20,000 injuries by the year 2025. This is encouraging news in an effort to promote safe driving through technology. But these systems are not designed to take away all driver reaction, they are designed to assist the driver to regain focus when needed. It is important for the motorist to understand how the vehicle will react to obstacles when the Automatic Emergency Braking system takes over. But most importantly, do not rely on tech to do your job. That is, stay focused and watch the road. Happy Motoring & Happy New Year to All!

Rental Car Reimbursement Your Questions Answered (BPT) - From errands and commuting to road trips and pleasure drives, people love the freedom of getting behind the wheel and driving wherever they want - especially as travel picks up again. In fact, business and leisure travel in 2022 is expected to outpace 2021, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council. With added time on the road comes the risk of accidents and associated vehicle repairs that disrupt your routine. Feeling stuck when your car is out of service is frustrating, but rental reimbursement can help. What is rental reimbursement coverage? Rental reimbursement coverage is an optional add-on to auto insurance that helps cover the cost of vehicle rental if your insured car is in an accident and needs repair. This allows you to continue to drive as normal with a rental car while your vehicle is fixed. "Customers are back to prioritizing their vehicles, rather than putting off repairs and maintenance until after pandemic restrictions have been lifted. With the average repair taking two weeks, and rising due to supply chain and worker shortages, finding a replacement ride right now can be inconvenient and expensive," said Mary Mahoney, vice president, Replacement and Leisure Division at Enterprise Holdings. "Even with a variety of transportation options, renting a car

while your personal vehicle is out for service is still the most convenient solution - and with rental reimbursement coverage, it's also cost-effective." Do I already have rental reimbursement coverage? Because rental car reimbursement is optional, many people believe they have it but don't. It's important to ask your insurance company if this coverage is active on your current policy. In a proprietary study of the general population, Enterprise found 70% of those with collision coverage thought they also carried rental reimbursement coverage. The insurance industry reports the true number of people carrying rental reimbursement coverage to be much lower - closer to 50%. With a 20 percentage point gap, that leaves many people unprepared at the time of an accident. Is rental reimbursement coverage expensive? One year of rental reimbursement

coverage typically costs about the same as renting a vehicle for one day. This averages $2 to $15 a month, depending on the level of coverage on your policy. Keep in mind, insurance companies sometimes have different names for rental coverage. They may refer to it as rental reimbursement, loss of use or rental coverage. Whatever it is called, it provides the benefits of reimbursement for the cost of a rental car. When can rental reimbursement coverage be added? Rental coverage is widely available from most major auto insurance providers. You don't need to wait until renewal to add this coverage; it can be added at any time - and the new year is a great time to revisit your existing policy. Learn more about rental reimbursement at Enterprise.com, and be sure to ask your insurance provider if you have this important feature on your policy today.
