Meaning. The logo is a play on words between “Uniqueness” and “You”. The result is therefore the word “Youniqueness”. The intent is precisely to enhance the uniqueness of every woman; we are all unique because we are all different. Youniqueness addresses a generic “you” to enhance the diversity and uniqueness of each person.

Zero Waste design
Project developed during the internship at Alcantara design department. In June 2021 I won the scouting project promoted by Vogue Talents in collaboration with Alcantara and I had the opportunity to join the style office and follow a project dedicated to sustainability.

THE PROJECT INSPIRATION
The project takes inspiration from the philosophy of zero waste by applying it to the Alcantara material. Speaking of Zero Waste we have to do with the Sustainability and Alcantara a perfect material for this theme: it’s a sustainable fabric and its production process is Carbon Neutral certified since 2009. The project is also inspired by the streetwear world and is characterized by geometric lines and the embossing technique typical of sportswear. I have renew the classic model of Thayat suit in a sporty and at the same time luxury garment, using the Alcantara fabric. Starting from the study of the pattern, I designed a jumpsuit with geometric cuts and oversize volume. The main body - body, sleeves, legs - consists of “zero waste” rectangles and details have welcoming shapes that reduce the waste of fabric in the nesting. The head adjustable on different body types thanks to the use of drawstrings.

DEGRADE PRINT PLACEMENT
With a traditional placement, companies waste around 15-25% of the fabric (Reverse Resource). Instead, in this case, using a low waste paper pattern, a fabric waste of approximately 6% is obtained. It should also be emphasized that Alcantara does not require finishing as, being a non-woven fabric and not having an armor like fabrics traditional, once cut it does not fray.

THE ATTITUDE OF THE FIFTIES The thesis project begins with a research around the feminine silhouette typical of the 50’s. Big collars and narrow waist are the main characteristics chosen to realize a ready to wear collection.
THE SPORTY INSPIRATION
Sportswear is the second main topic of inspiration. Functionality, sporty shapes and cuts, mixture between innovative tecnichnical textiles and natural fabrics make the collection more modern and interesting. The brand Sportmax is taken as inspiration; it has been chosen for its capability to mix fashion together with sporty line.

THE BIRTH OF A NEW BRAND
The weaving of the lotus flower yarn takes place in Myanmar on the shores of Lake Inle. So this is the name of the new business developed in two directions, both geographical and logistical: the Milanese headquarters are responsible for the creative direction and marketing of the capsule collection, which must meet the needs of the fashion industry and of its upcoming trends. The harvesting, spinning and weaving of the lotus ower takes place in Myanmar, as well as the safeguard act, which is the heart of the new business.

THE PARTY ATMOSPHERE This collection takes inspiration from spring-summer 2018/2019 emerging trends dealing with flashy disco-party garments and gentle lingerie dress. The aim of the project is to dress elegant women for events and special occasions with a feminine and sensual attitude. Shimmering and precious fabrics are combined together with evanescent silk fabrics like chiffon and georgette in order to create a contrast between fabrics and textures. There are also some synthetic fabrics that have been chosen for their valuable appearance.

A NEW CUSTOMER The clean shape of this iconic bag has been traslated in the moodboard with the idea of the architecture and interior design. The idea of femininity is given by the female presence, stem of flowers and diffuse light. In all the images there’s a perception of stillness: plastic poses and studied sets. This aspect is to give the perception of something always contemporary dedicated to the strong and acculturated woman.
