The project site is situated close to the historic urban center of Berlin at the Nordhafen, an inner city harbour which is part of the Spree waterway system. The plot is located at the edge of a large abandoned railyard area that extends as far as InvalidenstraĂ&#x;e, just north of the Humboldhafen and the new central station of Berlin. The area, lacking of a strong territorial identity, has led to a phenomenon of exclusion from the rest of the city, representing a sort of enclave. -

axis, one along the river and the orthogonal existing water stream. Thus creating a link between the plot and the other part of the river, taking into account
also an abandoned industrial building and a green
strip along the coast. The project consists of three building.
The Theatre building recalls the idea of the mon-
ument and the permanence, thanks to its massive
character and solidity of the pure volume. The main spatial element of the project is the composition of
auditorium and stage. It also offers an urban forum,
open for extern productions or cultural festivals, as well as the works of the near theatre academy.

The abandoned building, seen in the project as a

scientific research centre, has interesting industrial
characteristics and the decision to keep it and inte-
grate it in the project try to address an identity to the complex.
The Academy is dedicated to the professional
education of young actors. It provides spaces for
the education of the future professional performers as well as spaces for lectures and workshops to
address school classes. It as has its own auditorium and stage, with reharsal rooms and service spaces.

The project plot is located on the top of a mountain in a abandoned marble quarry close to the town of Cóbdar, in Andalusia. The program consists of an art center organized in two parts: an exposition area and a facility for artistic research. The former aims to raise awareness of the importance that marble quarries have had for centuries. The latter is to accommodate six sculptors, who will live in, work and display their studies having to do with the manipulation of marble. -

This building is accessible by a long ramp, that gently leads to the patio and then to the main entrance of the museum. The ultimate view on the valley from the top of the mountain is provided by a big window at the end of the building. The gallery provides also a passage to the lower level, which run along a reflecting pool and goes down in a more private square, faced by

The six sculptors facilities are divided into two buildings, the southernmost one spreading on the cliff with a cantilever, and the other one laying on one of the biggest platform. Both the building provide workspaces for the artists and an upperfloor where are organized their living spaces. At the easternmost part of the ‘tubes’ are placed two semi-public halls, designed for the artists community life.

Poveglia represents a unique opportunity to design a new campus for researchers, students and citizens. Due to the strong image of the island itself, the project aims to enhance the existing condition with few strategic actions. The genesis of the new Campus starts a reinterpretation of the existing 3 islands: the idea is to distribute the program into three different and specific environments. -

student housing building accommodating as well all Citadel is converted into the university with all activities for studying such as classes, laboratories, the “octagon”, which represents the former military defence of the island, is turned into the exclusive library of the new Poveglia University Island. Three specific architectures and landscapes are proposed to inspire the student housing, the university Campus and the public library: the Inhabited Bridge, the Hidden Garden and the Shell. In order to give to the islands openness to the city of Venice, a hybridization of the program is envisioned.

At the end of the 19th century, in the wake of the North European balneotherapy trend, the city of Lecce established the Marina of San Cataldo, linked to the city-centre via an innovative electric tramway line. The seaside resort then underwent a progressive loss of interest: the new road networks made other places -proposing a wider tourist offer- easily attainable, while the coast’s natural obstacles weakened the link between Lecce and the sea, reducing the potential touristic frequentation it could have offered. -
Graduation Project M.Sc. in Architecture Politecnico di Milano, Milan Project topic: Urban Regeneration Stragies Location: San Cataldo, Lecce, Italy Year: 2017, sep - 2018, apr Thesis Advisor Prof. Paolo Bozzuto Co-Advisor Arch. Valentino Galli
The thesis focuses on the study of the transformation process of the seaside resort and its relationship with the city of Lecce, by identifying the critical issues in the tourism and infrastructure system and setting the goal to revitalize the littoral and its reconnection with the environmental, architectural and cultural heritage of the hinterland. Through different mobility strategies, guidelines for the protection of the natural systems and propositions for the reconversion of the degraded areas, San Cataldo would take on the characteristics of a seaside resort of high environmental, touristic and social sustainability. The enhancement of touristic and urban services

- from the reactivation of the tramway track to the

expansion of the touristic harbour, from the provision of sport and events facilities to the rearrangement of the square and of the waterfront - aims at rehabilitating the marina, no longer considered only as a vacation destination, but as a departure point for the enjoyment of the hinterland, conferring a new meaning to the antique city-sea pair, and returning to the seaside resort its lost identity.

Examining the area of the Metropolitan City of Milan we focused on big infrastructural nodes, which tend to design the territory incisively. These specific existing tangles of lines of fast transportations shape the space of these areas which don’t communicate anymore neither with the natural territory nor with the urban patterns. The aim of the project is to redesign the New Gates of the city, to reshaping the spaces which characterize them and to convert these spaces of motion into spaces of stop, of life, of contemplation. -

the fast one, we tried to sew them up to reconnect accessibility to the territory and a different perception of the crossed spaces. Managing the interface as a fragmented device widespread on the territory occupying a large area, instead of a single limited point or a shape, it’s possible to reactivate entire areas and also to make readable the difference between inside and outside the city giving a new texture to the entire external tissue of the Metropolitan City of Milan. Considering Ticino and Adda rivers, we focused on another intervention: a light train, which complete the existing network giving the possibility of a public transport along the river and reconnecting the different areas, cascinas or urban tissues, closer to

the rivers. Considering TAV system, the railways and

the highways as fast trasportation, we chose to use the existing bike paths and pedestrian paths as a slow short-range connection useful for both the linking of the diffused transportation interfaces and the connections between the different functions. In this page: Perceived landscape diagram.

The municipality of Porto in itself is not very large, but just the center of a bigger region. Around this urban core lays an outer layer of smaller towns and more rural areas. The continuing process of suburbanization has now shaped the so called Area Metropolitana do Porto. Nowadays both inhabitants and businesses relocate to the sourranding municipalities, whereas the inner city is inhabited by vulnerable social groups. Recent crisis, unemployment and low renting prices has forced anyone able to pay for higher quality housing to move out, while the quality of older building heritage is downgrading. Surprisingly, the contemporary city (a kind of downtown) with his unplanned shape seems to satisfy the needs of new inhabitants and provides a high degree of functional integration. As a result, municipalities surrounding Porto are getting more and more independent and prefer to follow their own agenda instead of being part of one defined and performing metropolitan region. Anyway, suburbanization has a paradoxical impact on regional integration, as it has led to a quite fragmented metropolitan area with a relatively similar cultural background.

Starting from a large scale analysis, A D D D R A M A finds a way to turn these preconditions into potentiality and to stimulate through an injection of program a sterile and even old-fashioned city. In order to activate this vitality and incentive affordable housing, the project works on a central strategic strip cutting the city in the middle and crossing the Boa Vista axis. At a local scale the strip can be characterized by a rich juxtaposition of uses where workspaces, transport infrastructure, leisure, offices or large scale developments sit side by side. In addition to the main project in Las Fontainhas, 4 case studies provide some key principles for intervention, which are intended to act as a guidance for future development. As the strip runs through an heterogeneous land, different approaches are required, each one suiting a different part of the city (from compact to generic..). The main principles for intervention are: making uses lively and visible, making social spaces, using vacant spaces, providing affordable workspaces. C A S E 4 location is Las Fontainhas, a colourful area characterized by a unique view of the river Douro. Appearances aside, the area is inhabited by helpless social classes and his quality is now downgrading. Proximity to the inner city may give Las Fontainhas the opportunity to play an active role in the strip, as supposed by our scenario. The suggested program consists of a cultural and educational agenda mixed with a more spontaneous and amusing one, which should be the lifeblood of the project. In order to avoid a shocking impact, the tipology of intervention respects local spatiality and models. The old modernist raised road standing in front of the site is pressed down, and this allows to free public space for commerce, to open the block, and to introduce three main actors: a library, a space for expositions and a tower for leisure integration and workspaces. As a consequence, the strategy should encourage to re-inhabit and cheer up the site.

The project investigates the limits of the idea of domesticity. By splitting the household activities and rooms into individual chambers/cells, the inhabitants-spectators are letting free to experience an untipycal landscape performance that emulate limited domestic surroundings. -

The characteristic disposition of the rooms are defined to allow actors to stroll about different spaces into an unlimited landscape where familiar occurences are repeated infinitely, and the unmatched activities sounds remind people of the narrowness/scarcity of the domestic boundaries. The project was presented in the form of A2 format posters, pretending to be an official publication by the Triennale di Milano museum as part of an

Vanessa Beecroft’s performances are provocative and controversial. Her performances require nothing more than the pure architecture: nude architectures for nude bodies. The aim of this research was to provide a space for a performance inside the theatre complex in Berlin [Spree River Antology] , pretending to host a Vanessa Beecroft’s show. -

The Research Center building, obtained by a huge operation of demolition of the inner part of the fabric and the preservation of its envelop, and by the addition of a scaffolding system that allows a perimetral circulation all along the interior of building, provides the ideal location for a Vanessa Beecroft’s performance. The height of this space plays a lead role in the performance: the presence of public stairs and galleries all around the walls makes possible to visitors to look at the performance from above and see different combinations and drawings made by the bodies on the stage. The strengthening of the concept of stairs suggests the idea of movement. There are stairs for visitors and stairs for the performers. The models are

The 1960s was the decade in which design definitively established itself as a force that moved all strata of society, influenced their buying decisions and found a natural, identity-determining place in everyday society. This work focuses on the Italian design masterpieces published in late 70s on the page of Interni magazine. -

miniskirts, student protests and Woodstock - the Political, social, cultural and aesthetic upheavals left no-one unaffected. They left their tracks in the world of design, too - creating fresh ways of thinking and releasing unbelievable creativity. In late 60s, the radical design movements started to turn against the impersonal industrially manufactured, materialistic consumer products, which had dominated the first half of the decade. The claim was now that design objects provoke the intellect and should challenge the perception of the users. In prototypes and manifestos, the Italian designers
