A Life Filled with Love, Faith, and Family
Virginia Nell Lee, affectionately known as “Mollie” by family, friends, and the community, peacefully departed this life on January 1, 2025, at Baptist Attala Hospital in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Born on April 9, 1946, to Tommy Lee and Ella Mae Weatherby, Mollie was a beacon of warmth and love, known for her infectious smile that could brighten any room.
On February 27, 1967, she married the love of her life, David Lee Sr. Together, they built a legacy of love, raising five children, and later welcoming 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mollie was a devoted member of Greater New Jericho Church, where her faith guided her life. She served faithfully in various roles, including as an usher, choir member, and vice president of the choir, leaving a lasting impact on her church community.
A hardworking and dedicated individual, Mollie worked with numerous employers over the years, including Lauren Lamp, Durant Electric, First Class Linen, Pickens Truck Stop, Place for Fish, CB’s Fish House, and Kaffay Mileaway, where she shared her exceptional cooking skills and work ethic.
She cherished fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family, becoming the family’s go-to expert for home remedies and comfort during times of need.
Mollie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Lee Sr.; her son, David Lee Jr.; her parents, Tommy and Ella Mae Weatherby; her brothers MacArthur, Jessie, John, and Tommy Sr. Weatherby; her brothers-in-law Peter Lee, Essu Lee, Ozell Rimmer, Anthony Knight, Jacob Lee, and Michael Lee; her sisters-in-law Mary Weatherby, Annie Donald, Lillie Davis, and Bessie Winters; and great-grandson Alexander Gamlin.
Mollie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her daughter Ella Pullum, and sons Jessie Lee (Debbie), Sammie Lee (Felicia), and Chad Lee. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters—Lena Lee, Mary Rimmer, Betty Weatherby, Josephine Weatherby, and Jacqueline Knight—and 3 brothers—Richard Weatherby (Katherine), Frank Weatherby (Cathy), and David Weatherby (Daryl). Additionally, she is remembered by her brother-in-law James Lee, sisters-in-law Miranda Weatherby, Betty Jo Weatherby, and Willie Mae Lee, as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Virginia “Mollie” Nell Lee’s unwavering faith, boundless love, and radiant smile will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we, the siblings of Virginia, bid farewell to someone who was not only a cherished sister but also a friend, confidant, and guiding light.
