Design Proposal Concept The project investigates the effects of food on human emotions and activities. The food is colorful and its taste is mysterious and delicious. The nutrition, color, shape and smell of food all have a huge influence on human body and mind. For example, beta carotene and lycopene in red vegetables can improve anxiety. So tomatoes, red peppers and so on can be calming. Besides, red also can give a person on the vision stimulation, let a person have good appetite and spirit is excited.Therefore, red food is also the first choice for people with depression.

We are interested in what kind of experience it will be when we no longer recognize food in its original appearance, no longer judge the taste of food with objective consciousness, but feel the essence of food in a new perspective and form. And how does this experience affect our emotions? In this design, we create the possibility of a new food sensory environment from the aspects of food’s color, shape, touch and taste. This experiment makes us think further about the relationship between food and people.

How does this experience affect our emotion?
Design Research and Context There are many ways of design to engage people to connect with food. Due to our concept, we would like to use the different external appearance of food to create the space that people can be a part of the food. We decided to use the colourful is the main theme in every part of this project such as food, decoration and cover space. These colours can refer to a different kind of food and taste. Moreover, we used many shapes to create food sculpture that refers to the different shape of food. In term of space, we used inflatable to cover our table part because it can make people feel be part of this space and encourage them to have fun with a meal.
