What is TRUTH? As we search for “truth” more often these days, a reminder that Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).

First English Lutheran Church also known as the “Little Stone Church of Dorset” was built in 1936. Congregational members brought field stones to form “living stones” built into a spiritual House of God. “You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.” (1 Peter 2:4).

We are a Confessional Lutheran Church, which means: • We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, completely holy and free from error; • We believe scripture interprets scripture as we learn God’s Word; • We believe what scripture teaches of who we are as fallen human beings; • We believe every person is conceived and born in sin; • We believe because of sin, we are baptized into Christ through His death and resurrection; • We believe in the six day creation and the order of creation; • We believe God’s true body and blood are present in the Holy Sacrament for the forgiveness of sin and the strengthening of our faith; • We believe when our Lord Jesus Christ says to repent, He wills our entire life as Christians to be one of repentance. • We therefore believe God’s Word actually does what it says; when we hear his Word, when His Gospel’s promises are delivered, we know the Lord is working through us, delivering His Gifts, forgiving us and giving us eternal life.

We teach the Word of God in all its truth and purity in order that all may live fuller and godly lives. We seek to bring God’s Word to all people so they may share His grace, the gifts of forgiveness and eternal life.
