2ND STREET STAGE ENTERTAINS WITH LIVE MUSIC Join the great community get-together for the summer music series, 2nd Street Stage,Thursday nights from June 24 through Aug. 19. Event dates are subject to change and audiences will be asked to follow COVID-19 guidelines. Organizers are planning for the worst and hoping for the best, according to a news release. The Park Rapids Downtown Business Association hosts the free, outdoor concerts from 6 to 8 p.m. with bands, a beer garden and family activities downtown. Bring your own lawn chair. The beer garden opens at 5 p.m. for a social hour. Support this event JULY/AUGUST 2021

July 15 - New Salty Dog New Salty Dog is a five-piece rock band based out of Duluth. “An uncontainable fun-time band with an admirable amount of energy and solid storytelling skills,” according to the Duluth New Tribune. July 22 - Rich Mattson and the Northstars Rich Mattson and the Northstars formed in Northern Minnesota in 2014 26

as a cosmic folk group. Rich Mattson and Germaine Gemberling have been writing songs, recording and performing together since 2010. They just released their fifth album, “Skylights,” which features the rhythm section of drummer (and longtime Mattson bandmate) Keely Lane and bassist Kyle Westrick. The group performs all around Minnesota and beyond and has been invited to share the stage with such notable acts as the Minus 5, the Jayhawks and Trampled By Turtles. Somewhat of a Minnesota music staple, Mattson is well known for his songwriting and outstanding PARK RAPIDS ENTERPRISE
