Message from the Honourable Ida Chong Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Welcome to the B.C. Men’s Provincial Playdowns of Curling in beautiful Parksville on Vancouver Island. Curling enjoys a strong and proud history in British Columbia. Communities across our province are renowned as welcoming hosts for curling events at all levels, including provincial championships and international competitions. I encourage you to explore and enjoy Parksville and the surrounding area. British Columbians of all ages curl in their local communities. Curling plays a key role in helping B.C. families connect with their neighbours and create strong community bonds. It’s a great sporting and social activity that supports our goal of ensuring that B.C. residents are the healthiest in Canada. The Province is committed to supporting
the development of curling in B.C. Congratulations to Curl BC and local curling clubs for promoting the sport throughout British Columbia. Thank you to the volunteers and the host committee for all your hard work to bring great curling to Parksville. Good luck to all the atheletes and best wishes to everyone.
