Panels In the afternoon, youth were divided into different panels of their choice that covered different topics. Examples: Youth Entrepreneurship and Volunteering, Promoting Youth Volunteerism, Ending World Extreme Poverty, and The Connection Between Technology and Youth Volunteering.
Working Groups The working groups allowed those in the groups to interact and discuss the days topics. It also allowed the groups to work towards creating future commitments.
RED2021 is a forward-looking 10-year network that launched at the Summit creating connections between and globally mapping the personal and organizational commitments of youth volunteers and their organizations and employers. red2021.org
Commitments Some Commitments made at the Summit are: -To implement one strategy that they have learned at the Summit back in their community. -To encourage at least 10 communities to make provisions for persons with disabilities. -To be a mentor, specifically to promote volunteering among 8-12 year-olds.
In Conclusion... The focus of the Summit was to promote youth volunteering, exchange ideas, and highlight the various resources available to youth.
