Erwin Bogado
Active Member Since: 1996 Local Chapter: Paraguay Partners, Southern Cone Region Qualifications: I believe that volunteering is a way of life and I have applied the values of volunteering and continual education throughout my career. My qualifications include serving as supervising director of the Paraguayan administrative Bi-national Center managing the quality and pedagogy of the programs, teaching English and Spanish at various centers, institutes and universities, and serving the Partners Paraguayan Chapter as an active volunteer, coordinator, member of the executive council and president creating lasting partnerships. My long history with Partners shows dedication and commitment to the organization and belief in its mission. Personal Statement: I was raised by people with high commitment values toward others. As a student and a teacher, I have been able to experience the importance of education through exchanges and I seek ways to combine volunteerism, exchanges and education to promote development. This is very rewarding and serving as a candidate on the Board of Partners, I will find ways to collaborate and strengthen our network to transform programs and create sustainability.
Background: Erwin Bogado first joined Partners in 1996. Throughout that time, he has served in a number of roles beginning as a volunteer, transitioning to project coordinator for student exchanges, serving as the project liaison for “Youth Ambassadors” and most recently becoming President of the Paraguay-Kansas Chapter (CPK) and serving as a member of their executive committee. Mr. Bogado has participated in cultural exchanges with students from the U.S. and sponsored Paraguayan students to study abroad through the CPK promoting community service. Mr. Bogado is a consultant in education and a doctor in Human Nutrition. He has had the opportunity to study at Amherst University through the Fulbright Program and received a diploma in evaluation of English as a Foreign Language from Indiana University. Other places of study include the University of Alabama where he received a Master of Curriculum Education, Pittsburgh State University where he participated in the Teachers’ Training Program and the Polytechnic of Central London earning a degree in Psychology.
