WELCOME BACK Welcome back to our favourite island and a warm embrace to all you firsttimers arriving round about now!

You may be among those having ditched other popular destinations like Turkey and Greece this year because of their economic and political problems. Or you simply wanted to check out for yourself what all the buzz is about: Either way, last season saw a record high in tourist numbers for Ibiza and 2017 does not look any different. It proved quite a turbulent winter break on our shores, so let's get you up to speed on the latest developments. After many months of rumours the Pacha empire (including it's hotels Destino and El Hotel, the restaurant Lio and the world famous club of course) was sold to the private equity firm Trilantic for 350 million euros. The retreat of the truly Ibicenco Urgell family shocked many. So far though, no changes to the Pacha empire or the famous club and it’s direction have been made. A much bigger change to Ibiza's clubbing landscape happened over in Playa d'en Bossa. After the end of island institution Space last October, the owners of Ushuaia took control of the premises and began extensive construction works. Helmed by creative director Yann Pissenem the look and feel of the club renamed Hï have been completely altered. Confirmed parties include the under-

ground night “In The Dark“ with residents Luciano, Steve Lawler and Nic Fanciulli. As much as we understand the pain of many that our iconic Space had to close, let's keep an open mind and give the new kid on the block a chance. And what could be more exciting than trying out a state-of-the art club for the very first time this season? With Space gone it is the perfect opportunity for Ibiza's sleeping giant Privilege to make a triumphant return to the scene. After some quieter years and a big refurbishment over the winter, the biggest club of the island is hosting some promising DJs and parties this season: Techno icon Carl Cox returns to the island for two exclusive shows. Also, Resistance, Ultra Miami's brand for underground music will take over the remaining Tuesdays of the season, headlined by the long-awaited Ibiza return of Sasha and John Digweed in a joint residency. Other new parties this year include Hot since 82's full Pacha residency Labyrinth on Fridays and South African hotshot Black Coffee's weekly night at Hï on Saturdays. So whether excited first-timer or seasoned veteran: Glad that you're here, make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the ride. It's gonna be quite a thrill!

SIS AN ARTIST THAT CANâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;T BE PINNED DOWN

COVER INTERVIEW He was born in Michelstadt in 1980, and now shuttles back and forth between Berlin and Barcelona. SiS knew early on that music would play an important role in his life. His father and his uncle played in a Turkish band, with SiS often tagging along to their performances. Men who used their bare hands to make music with different rhythms and instruments still exert an influence on him and his music to this day. Growing up in a musical family, SiS learned to play numerous instruments. As a teenager, he started a rock band, playing drums.

Burak Sar, aka SiS, is a German-Turkish techno and house DJ, producer and founder of the "Cocolino” & “Pour Vous Records" record labels. His artistic name "SiS" is Turkish, and means "mist".

In 2006, he celebrated his first release with the "La Garua" EP. In 2007, his tracks "Orgsa" and "Nesrib" on Cecille Records became internationally known. SiS’ breakthrough came in 2008 with the track "Trompeta", which was derived from a Balkan folk song and which was chosen as the club summer hit of the year in Ibiza. That same year, German magazine "Groove" selected him as "Producer of the Year" ("best live act" and "best newcomer") and also ranked "Nesrib" and "Trompeta" among the year’s best tracks. Beginning in 2011, he was a resident in Berlin’s Watergate and started a project with "Get Physical Music", a remix compilation of old tracks from the "Get Physical" label as a DJ set. He also continued to give international live shows and sets. His crowning achievement that year saw him establish his own label, "Cocolino Records". His musical style doesn’t fit with what happens to be "in" on the electro scene. "I've never chased the sound, I can’t do it. I just have my own flow," SiS said in an interview. He’s also incapable of “copying”, because his own sound always comes through, the one that made him famous ten years ago. SiS isn’t content to rest on past success, and wants to continue matheclubbingbible.net 13

COVER INTERVIEW king music, with a few projects already planned for this year. However, he also wants to get away from his old image, which is why we’ll hear a lot of new things from him. Hola SiS! Besides music, you spend a lot of time with horses. How did you get into this hobby, and what was the impetus for it?

Ever since I’ve been able to recall, horses have played a big role for me. I come from a workingclass family, we had fields and meadows outside our front door where I could look at these beautiful beings all day. When I was 13, I was able to use my allowance to pay for riding lessons, which at the time was the most important and the greatest thing in the world for me. I didn’t spend a cent on candy, I saved everything and gave it to the owner of the farm so I could groom all his horses and sit on a horse once a week for twenty minutes. In what way do you connect with horses?

For me, horses are among the most honest beings in this world. They’re wild, sensitive and delicate – not to mention their appearance. Your second album already had a connection to horses. Will your next release have one, too?

Or will it deal with another theme? No! It won’t have the same theme, things like that depend more on your mood. The next album will be called "Influences", and it won’t be a pure house techno dance album. Instead, as the name suggests, it’ll be an album with all the genres that’ve accompanied me since childhood.

For your new live act you’re planning to include an instrument that’s rarely used in the techno scene. Can you tell us more about this special live project?

Out of all the instruments, the ones I love the most are ones like the drums, hang drum and the caisa drum, and I've been thinking a lot about how I can add the sticks to my shows. Thanks to the newly developed e-drums, this is now possible. So my new live setup will include a Roland TD-25KV, which besides the drums allows me to play any percussion instrument. Or, for example, trigger hang drum tones and play them on the drums, rather than sampling them or playing them on a MIDI keyboard. As a thank you for ten years of support, you’re donating your tracks to a good cause. What’s behind your decision to do that?

I’ve been able to live more or less on the sunny side of things for a good ten years. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this if it weren’t for the people who dance to my music and the listeners who buy my music. As a small thank you, I’d like to donate a SiS EP every month on my new label "Pour Vous". There’s a documentary about you and a band from Cairo. What’s it about, and how did this documentary come about?

COVER INTERVIEW “Connected Rhythms” is a production that’s intended to show artists from what are virtually two different worlds: Africa and Europe. Damian (dOP) had recommended me at the time. What bothers you about your old image? Do you think people have the wrong impression of you?

It’s not really that it bothers me, it’s just sad when people only want to see one facet of a person. Of course, I rocked and rolled. And there were various reasons, when I think about what I did prior to that and what perspectives I had. Do you think your work with horses and your family have strongly influenced your development as an artist?

I’d even say enormously, for which I’m very grateful to everyone involved. What has changed in your life since you became a father?

Everything! The way of thinking about tomorrow – that alone is a big change when you consider that musicians usually have a fast daily routine. It’s usually pretty hard to make a clown laugh, but the toddler lying next to his wonderful mother and smiling always manages to wangle one every morning.

COVER INTERVIEW In the past, you’ve often played in Ibiza, among others at Cocoon, Privilege, Space, Zoo Project, Sankeys and many more. Once you’ve played at the wickedest parties in Ibiza, what’s left to attract a DJ?

It’s like a lot of passions where you never reach the limits: there’s a movement, a muse, an acquaintance that’s constantly changing the way you see things, that restructures things. That’s the appeal for me, I think. What always pulls you back, and what’s special about the island for you?

Friendship. No party on the island is as good as various relaxed friendships that have come about with the Ibicencos, and of course everyday life, which is really seldom anything else than normal. And, of course, the fact that it’s the only place where you can meet almost all your fellow musicians. Muchas gracias!

Playing against all the rules A new party has landed on Fridays in Sankeys, promising a breathtaking journey The spirit of rebel has always been alive in Ibiza. Yet certain promoters limit it just to occasional misbehaviour, while the others make a whole cult out of it. As for Fridays in Sankeys, it would be safe to say that a great talent to protest against routine and innovate with immense creativity is in their DNA â&#x20AC;&#x201C; and the name of the event is very much tell-tale: Rebels Cave. 18

Although a newcomer to having itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s own weekly club night, Rebels Cave already comes with a solid pedigree of making events in Ibiza. Started as Capadi Rebels boat party, it quickly evolved into one of the most popular nautical affairs of the island. Faithful to the true underground spirit, this boat became a big point of clubbing reference. Later the rebellious team started to co-host Sundays at Sankeys, sharing the venue with Viva Warriors, another party of the revolutionary persuasion. What they did in Spektrum turned out to be such a hit that now they own and rule their proper night, as a very logical continuation of the project. This summer these guys will turn the whole club upside down. Rebels Cave starts on June 23 and wraps it up on

September 29, offering a finest selection of house and techno tunes by some of the best local DJs. The dark Basement of Sankeys with its infamous low ceiling will be such a perfect match to these vibes of "Discover the unknown"! The doors of the club will open at 9pm, and hungry punters will be invited to a vegetarian barbecue on the open air terrace. Listen to the sounds of live music, admire art installations and definitely visit the experience room â&#x20AC;&#x201C; the Rebels know how to craft impressions. What exactly happens in the Rebels Cave stays a secret until you discover it yourself.

Wanna .. feel hi in Ibiza? The superclub, formerly known as Space Ibiza, is stepping into a new glorious era – under a new name and a new management. From now on, the weekly programming of the club is carefully curated by The Night League – the very team responsible for the tremendous success of the almighty Ushuaïa Ibiza. There can be no doubt with 20

such programming and such style Hï Ibiza will be one of the greatest highs you’ll get on the island this summer. The room formerly known as Discoteca is now dubbed as Theatre, which sounds like a promise of colourful shows and splendid décor. Frankly, it’s such a pleasure and relief to see theatricality back in Ibiza after so many seasons of the minimalistic march of all-over techno! The room formerly known as Terraza will be laconically called Club and thus offer, predictably, a more traditional raving atmosphere. Since Hï is run by the same team that created and nurtured Ushuaïa, it would only be natural to expect a certain EDM-tinge in the weekly programming of the club. And this is the state of things, indeed. Mondays, called Multiply, belong to the young and yummy Martin Garrix from July 3 till September 18. Martin himself will be the king of the Theater, while his partner in crime Thomas Jack will be taking care of the Club.

Wednesdays from June 21 to September 13 are the realm of another famed Dutch – Armin van Buuren. His UR project will welcome Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano as weekly residents in the Club. Hï Sundays, taking place from July 2 till September 17, have already announced their nearly full line-ups. This party will be a massive big room house heaven with such heavyweights as Steve Angello, Afrojack and Hardwell on rotation. Fridays from June 9 to September 29 are oriented on slightly more mature audience. The flamboyant disco affair of Glitterbox, created by the infamous Defected brand, tempts salted party animals with DJ sets by Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry and Masters at Work and prolific live PAs by Barbara Tucker. But where are the guys announced for the opening party? Don’t worry, they are all there. Luciano, Joris Voorn, Kölsch, Nic Fanciulli and Steve Lawler are in charge of the brand new In The Dark event which lands on Thursdays.

Saturdays up to September 30 boast the debut Ibiza residency of one of the most coveted artists of recent seasons – namely, Black Coffee. This night is destined to be a hit! As for Tuesdays, there will be Eric Prydz behind the decks in the Theatre, orchestrating his own namesake party. With Andrea Oliva on his weekly duty in the Club and the likes of Pete Tong, Catz 'N Dogz, Pig & Dan and Dusky in the line-ups, the night will be busy. Especially on July 18 and August 22, when Deadmau5 will appear with his trademark – and exclusive! – shows. theclubbingbible.net 21

SPOT ON ZOO

The evolutional theory of the Zoo One of the hottest open-air events of Ibiza is expanding, convincing you to mark Saturdays and Tuesdays in your party calendar as a must-go evening! Zoo Project is the main place in Ibiza to go bananas – literally bananas! This afternoon/ evening event for years has been a major hit among those who like to party like an animal under the open skies: first under the cheerful Balearic sun, then under the early shining stars. Taking place in Benimussa Park, it has been a mustgo for every San Antonio clubber (for San An is just an ultra-short bus or taxi ride away) and a solid reason for all the others to leave their Ibiza habitat and join the Zoo. This season the Zoo Project is back in it’s comfortable Saturday slot, from June 17 till September 23, from 4pm till midnight. As a warm-up, it would be wise to join the notorious Noah’s Ark boat party, sailing on Saturdays from San Antonio from 3pm till 6pm (see also page 78). Remember: there is a long-lasting tradition to cover yourself with most creative body art and face paint before heading to the Zoo. Animalistic prints are the most popular ones – get ready to see human 22

SPOT ON ZOO leopards, tigers and giraffes out of their cages. But diverse kinds of aliens, carnival masks and freaks of all sorts are just as welcome, for sure! And now… surprise-surprise! This year, the team behind the Zoo are launching a second weekly party! Moreover, it will be not just ‘launching’ – an extra long season is ahead of this new, daring, bound to success adventure. Started in May and scheduled to round off on October 10 on Tuesdays, this promises to be one of the hottest tickets of summer 2017. Called Zoo Evolution, it focuses on different shades of deep house, tribal house and techno – but music by far is not it’s only attraction. Plenty of colourful performances are planned for this journey, as well as workshops, massages and therapies. Market stalls offer yummy organic food, and Mandala Garden will be soundtracked with 432Hz music – this frequency has healing properties and helps people connect with the universe. As for the line-ups, the Zoo is famous for it’s incredible unpredictability. One of the brightest examples of recent times was when punters arrived to an event with an unannounced line-up to discover Ricardo Villalobos behind the decks! The Zoo, no matter if it’s Tuesday or Saturday, is all about spontaneity, creativity and leaving the punters as impressed as one can only be in Ibiza. theclubbingbible.net 23

The news that Pacha group was reportedly sold to a new owner, Trilantic Capital, was among the most shocking pieces of information that Ibiza rumour mill was grinding off-season.

The huge loyal following of the brand got predictably worried, trying to figure out how the deal would affect the policy of â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;the two cherriesâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;. So far, looking at the weekly schedule of the club it would be safe to say that disaster has not struck. 24

This season, Mondays till October 2 once again stand out from all the party landscape of the island: it’s Flower Power, the signature hippie fiesta that still preserves the indigenous Ibiza spirit of the XX century. Compared to any other club night, Flower Power can boast of attracting probably the most mixed crowd ever: from youngsters to veterans, from born-andbred hippies to jetset socialites. With DJ Piti on duty every week, get ready to chant along to The Beatles! Mosaic by Maceo Plex on Tuesdays until October 3 takes things deep down into serious underground. Agents of Time, Paranoid London, Modeselektor, Daniel Avery – it’s not every night that these artists are playing in Ibiza, so don’t miss your chance to broaden your musical horizon. Last season, hands down, Mosaic was one of the most successful party debuts – and the continuation is promising to be even more mind-blowing. Wednesdays are a treat for those who prefer stylish house of a more commercial inclination. Ruled by Martin Solveig and quite straightforwardly named My House, they finish on October 4.

Following a long-established tradition, Thursdays go on belonging to the artist who has managed to conquer Ibiza once and forever with his notorious F*** Me I’m Famous concept – we are talking about David Guetta. As always, the grandee himself is playing every week except those in September – that month it will be Robin Schulz soundtracking the night instead of the missing maestro. Fridays are when Hot Since 82 entices the punters into the Labyrinth of superb tunes, spun by such diverse and renowned DJs as Maya Jane Coles, Sasha, Miss Kittin, Erick Morillo and John Digweed. Saturdays in their spirit are somewhat similar to Wednesdays. Bob Sinclar is the main headliner of Pure Pacha / Paris by Night concept, showcasing his impeccable French touch weekly from May 27 to October 7. On Sundays Solomun keeps exploiting his unique ‘Solomun + 1’ approach, inviting each time one guest artist only. Be it Dixon, Damian Lazarus or Dubfire – the last night of the week is bound to be packed!

Ushuaia has got

surprises! The haven of open air clubbing in Ibiza This summer Ushuaïa is introducing quite a few changes and has considerably updated it’s programme for the season. However, Mondays go on belonging to the one and only David Guetta with his BIG concept. Normally, heavyweight

artists would limit their Ushuaïa residency to two months only – namely, July and August, the high peak of the season. BIG, though, will last as long as from June 12 till August 28 (early birds of summer, you are lucky this time). 26

On Tuesdays Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike will turn Ushuaïa into an impressive Garden of Madness, presented by Tomorrowland. Expect huge production and a big roadblock weekly from July 4 till August 29. Wednesdays, branded as Limited Edition, will throw in for good measure a mind-blowing mixture of huge artists. Each week will boast its own headliner, be it Hardwell, DJ Snake, Alesso, Diplo, Axwell and Ingrosso or Major Lazer Soundsystem. Get ready for some wonderful diversity on a weekly basis from June 28 to September 6. Martin Garrix will go on with his Ushuaïa residency on Thursdays from July 6 until September 14. The young and daring global star makes a perfect match to the hip and lavish ambiance of the venue. A massive hit of last summer, Disturbing Ibiza by Tinie Tempah is back on Fridays from June 9 until September 15, offering a finest selection of pop and

hip hop tunes, usually accompanied by DJ EZ. ANTS on Saturdays keep being the only – and largely successful – underground event of Ushuaïa’s programme. Running from May 13 till September 30, they have booked quite a plethora of top-notch artists: Andrea Oliva, Groove Armada, Nic Fanciulli, Kölsch, Joris Voorn and many others. Finally, Sundays are the realm of Kygo. Debuting with a full-season weekly residency after the success of his shows last summer, the Norwegian star has invited such DJs as Kaskade, Cedric Gervais, Oliver Heldens and Nora En Pure to join him. In addition to the regular weekly events, there will certainly be some surprises up in store. Such as, for example, MTV presents The Chainsmokers on July 10 or We Party Bang! The firm favourite of outdoor fun-lovers is back for yet another season of driving and top-notch beats.

Year in, year out ANTS is an absolute gem of Ibiza open-air clubbing. While most other promoters, focused on techno and non-commercial house, are hosting their events on dark sweaty dancefloors after midnight, ANTS is merrily taking place in UshuaĂŻa Ibiza in the pure daylight.

Starting at 3pm and rounding off at 11.59pm, this adventure takes place in the uber-stylish location of Ushuaïa’s courtyard, by the picturesque pool, a few steps away from the sea. This year ANTS opted for an early start, giving the hungry clubbers a chance to dance the evening away before the summer madness officially begins. Judging by the line-ups of two events in May and that of the official opening on June 3, further in the season we expect line-ups star-studded with such names as Nic Fanciulli, Patrick Topping, wAFF, Matthias Tanzmann,

Groove Armada and, of course, Andrea Oliva, one of the main ANTS stalwarts. This season will be a special one for ANTS, since the logical continuation of the party will occur just across the road. The club, formerly known as Space, is now taken over by Ushuaïa’s management team, famous for their creativity and professionalism. Aptly called Hï Ibiza, the venue offers a first ever weekly residency of Black Coffee on the island. IBIZA Spend at least one whole afternoon on a boat, sailing on the blue waters and watching the island from a different perspective! Whether on a private charter, excursion or even a boat party - being on board is priceless and unforgettable! Put some trainers on and park at the Salinas beach parking, follow the dusty path into the pine woods which will lead you to some small private coves where nudists like to sunbath. At the very end you will find a pirate tower which is the closest geographical point to Formentera from Ibiza. When was the last time you did something for the first time? At the end of Talamanca beach, after Sa Punta restaurant, is one of the most amazing spots for cliff jumping. From 2 to 12 metres everybody can set new goals and let some fears go! Go to Punta Galera to enjoy the amazing sunset, laying on one of those huge flat rocks, where you can also can get “homemade” sea salt from Alex, the friendly cave man who is living from donations from the visitors. 40

Visit the Sant Jordi flea market on Saturdays where locals are selling their stuff at very low prices. You always will find really amazing bargains. The people and especially drummers make a very special atmosphere that you wouldn't have expected so close to Playa d’en Bossa. Try one of Ibizas famous villa parties. Most incredible locations with good vibe people are waiting for you and you are tasting the latest trends from the island. Try to make friends with some season workers! It’s hard to get your name on the lists, but NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! One of Ibizas best kept secrets is Casita Verde's vegetarian Sunday lunch in the valley of Benimussa. Head there between 14 - 16.00h and enjoy a delicious menu for only 10 euros, learn great things about permaculture and alternative ways of living.

DO'S & DONT'S

Don't eat the usual dishes you know from home! Ibiza is an international place where so many cultures meet. Try to eat something you have never tried before and get some new cooking ideas as a souvenir. Don't bring huge speakers to the calm beaches as many locals go there to get away from the loud environment. Always respect others and you will be respected!

Don't take a plastic bag for everything you buy in the supermarkets, please! They tend to give you bags for every little item, not being aware of how terribly this affects the island and all the marine eco system. Be smart and use one of those cool Ibiza baskets or a cotton bag! Don't only spend time at the same bach club infront of your hotel, as the island has so many amazing spots to offer which often are not advertised but can be found by asking the locals.

Don't only dance to electronic music in the big clubs but watch out for some live music such as Flamenco or other performances of bands and singers in places such as Cafe Pereyra in the centre of Ibiza town. Let some wild nights begin with some sexy hip shaking moments to the rhythms of the world - ideally, with a glass of iced Hierbas in your hand! Don't be rude to Spanish people when they don't speak English fluently and maybe have a hard time understanding you because of your dialect. Instead try to learn some words Spanish! ARTIST CHECK When you think of Danish electronic music scene, the first name to come to your mind will probably be Kölsch. However, he was not born in that country, being half German, half Irish and thus fitting impeccably any spot of the multicultural clubbing scene. Famous for his emotional, melodic techno, he is one of the signature artists for Kompakt record label. It was this imprint where he released his two history-themed albums, 1977 and 1983, as well as a slew of singles with a highly distinctive sound. Kölsch first hit Ibiza in 1999 and remains faithful to the island ever since. Being a truly creative personality, he has elaborated a unique style not only in terms of sound but also in terms of his looks: if you are a newbie and aren’t that sure if this is Kölsch behind the decks or not, look for the tall guy in a black hat. Since nowadays all the techno community of the island is dressed in black from head to toe, it’s especially important for a DJ to be recognizable from the distance, isn’t it? This summer, Kölsch will be playing exclusively at the two venues of Ushuaïa and the brand new Hï Ibiza, formerly known as Space. Hï booked him for the Eric Prydz event on July 11 and for a residency on the just launched In The Dark party series: June 8, July 20, August 17, 24 and 31, September 14. The island broke your Finder track. Why do you think it became so big here? It was the perfect timing and sound. The feeling Finder gives people - it’s happy, sexy and full of positive energy. Like Ibiza!

What are your favourite things to do? Beaches or places to go to eat and drink on the island? I love to chill and hang out on the beach. I love Cala Salada, Cala Llentrisca or Es Canaret. Especially in the Northern part of the island. Food wise there are so many delicious places. One of my favorite places to eat is “Fish Shack” in Talamanca.

Do you write tracks with Ibiza in mind? Do you try and think of the sub spots they might work in? No, never, I just go with the flow when I’m writing music. I would never start a track with so-

ARTIST CHECK mething on my mind. It’s super exciting to see and hear where the track is going to end up. Where do you start on tracks? The bass, the keys? Can you write on the road or need you be in your studio? I always start on the road. My studio is my laptop and my headphones. In do my mix downs at the Red Bull Studios, Berlin. There is also no strict plan how to produce music. Sometimes it’s the sample, sometimes the bass or the melody.

How do you stay sane when on the road touring? Do you watch films, write music, learn a language or what? I try to sleep as much as I can, and not to drink too much, avoiding hard alcohol. I also go to the gym if the hotel has one. Or I do my exercises in the hotel room. What else will you be doing this summer, any time to relax and have a holiday? I try to combine my touring with some days on the beach if it’s possible, so there is always a way to relax and get some sunshine. What was the last record you bought and why? Acid Pauli (real name Martin Gretschmann) was born in Germany and first got addicted to punk music: as a youngster he used to play bass guitar. By 1995, however, his taste had evolved and he started making electronic tracks under the alias Console - using this name from 1997 to 2010 he recorded six artist albums. His discography as Acid Pauli comprises just one artist album, Mst, released on Clown and Sunset in 2012, two DJ mixes on Crosstown Rebels and a slew of EPs. In June 2016 together with Nico Stojan he launched a new record label called OuĂŻe: the first EP, Call of The Valley, is already out. Being a truly versatile musician, Acid Pauli skilfully combines elements of different styles in his sets and gladly plays alone all night long. What he played at Heart was a blend of literally all music genres, with plenty of ethnic and jazzy motives, all supported with a steady non-hasty beat that urges a dancing meditation. This summer Acid Pauli is playing weekly at Las Dalias at his own Acid Sundays party till September 17, and on June 26 he is booked to perform for Cocoon at Amnesia.

Always keep moving, never stand still DAPAYK & PADBERG’S NEW ALBUM “HARBOUR” For nearly three decades sought-after musician, producer and machine enthusiast Niklas Worgt has researched diverse club sound effects with countless projects, while singer Eva Padberg is an internationally renowned high fashion model. Since 2005 they have been traveling and performing together as Dapayk & Padberg. The Berlin-based duo just released their new album "Harbour", recorded in the rural seclusion of Brandenburg just outside of the German capital in an area called Uckermark: "When you get out of the car, you kind of experience an acute hearing loss," says Niklas. "There is absolute silence and solitude out there.” The LP was released on Mo's Ferry's sub-label Fenou, which

in recent years has made an excellent name for it’s signature sound of harmonic electronica and swinging minimal electro. "Harbour", the title song of the album, with it’s choked downbeats and the over-dreamy vocals, reveals it’s stylistic direction. Almost seamlessly it fades into the softly pumping love declaration "Watching Over You", followed by the playful "U-Camargue". Another key track is the melancholic "Sink This Ship", an asynchronous rhythm on a rocking turbulent sea, that is softened by touching classical strings at the end. "The text is a ciphered critique of this social media delusion," explains Eva. The album ends on a conciliatory orchestral note with the 90’s Hip-Hop and ambient-triggered instrumental "The Field". theclubbingbible.net 69

TAPESH FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC AND BEYOND Tapesh is a strong asset to the Ibiza scene, with a residency for the infamous party ANTS at Ushuaia. Claiming Düsseldorf as his home town, this German fellow has been raising awareness with his productions and rocking dance floors for quite some time. Tapesh is no newbie to nightlife. His love for music has accelerated through the years and a main force driving his career choice was growing up in clubs owned by his father. Tapesh was exposed from a young age to different types and genres of music. In his teens, Tapesh began experimenting with music 70

production, combining different styles to establish his own unique sound. His hard work and undeniable DJ skills were not unnoticed by big label bosses. The artist has since released on labels such as Mobilee, Get Physical Music, Hot Creations, Defected, Noir Music, Snatch Records! and Rebirth. In 2016 Tapesh established his own label named Akulee and there he released his EP, “Panus-Fasciatus”. DJ, LABEL MANAGER AND A TALENTED PRODUCER

Jon Rundell is a hard worker not afraid to push boundaries to get what he deserves. This summer he will join Carl Cox for his new ventures at Privilege. Jon’s admiration of music was passed down from generations. He grew up listening to records his father played at home and was influenced by the sound of the Rolling Stones, Public Enemy and Kinks. Jon was a determined kid and worked part time jobs in order to save money and buy his first turntables at the age of 15. It was history in the making after that. He began djing in Brighton where he met Carl Cox at the Zap Club back

in the 90’s. The two bonded over a story Jon shared with Carl, explaining how his grandmother was also a fan of his and saw him at a party at The Brighton Conference Center. Carl saw a talent in Jon and in 2006 asked him to join Intec as a label manager. Jon was committed and worked hard, travelling the world djing and making a name for himself through his unique sound. His production and DJ career escalated in the last few years, remixing and working with artists like Moby and Paul Van Dyk.
