EVENT Ahead Of Unlock-6, HRAWI Seeks Relaxations For Hospitality Industry From The Maha Govt. Ahead of the next phase of UNLOCKING in the State under Mission Begin Again, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has submitted written recommendations to Shri. Udhav Thackeray, Hon. Chief Minister, Shri. Anil Deshmukh, Hon. Home Minister; Mr. Aditya Thackeray, Hon. Tourism, Environment & protocol Minister; Smt. Valsa Nair Singh (IAS), Principal Secretary, GAD SEO-1, Civil Aviation & State Excise and Mr. Sanjay Kumar (IAS), Chief Secretary seeking relaxations in operations for the Hospitality industry. With the underlying objective of survival for the industry, the HRAWI has recommended that State allow hotels to operate with full capacities. The Association has also proposed relaxation of the restriction on gathering for social functions or meetings by linking the permissible number of guests based on the size of the venue. “Right now, the industry’s biggest challenge is survival. One of the worst affected industries during this pandemic is the Hospitality industry and we are in dire need of the Government’s support. The Maharashtra Government has been receptive to us and understands our woes. We have submitted only the most basic of our requirements which will help the industry in managing to survive. We are suggesting that restrictions be removed and, hotels and restaurants be given relaxations for businesses to be given a chance to revive,” says Mr. Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, President, HRAWI. HRAWI has also asked the Government to allow sale of liquor at restaurants and also recommended that open spaces and terraces be used for restaurants. “Restaurants can enforce social distancing. Allowing the sale of liquor will be a boon to not only restaurants but also to the State in terms of the tax revenues. Anyways the Government has
allowed sale of liquor at stores as well as online, so permission should also be given to sell liquor along with dine-in services. After the lockdown is lifted, the distancing norms at restaurants will significantly reduce the seating capacities. Hence we request the Government to allow us to use the open spaces and terraces for restaurants to serve food and liquor and thus compensate for the loss of licensed space utilization,” says Mr. Pradeep Shetty, Vice President, HRAWI. The Association has also proposed that a business traveler visiting the city for short business trip up to 3 days be allowed to enter Mumbai without mandatory quarantine. “We propose a combination of rapid and accurate testing facility be implemented at the airport which would help reduce the time spent by passengers in remaining quarantined. Relaxing the quarantine norm for business travelers will ease travel for business tourists,” adds Mr. Shetty. Hotels have made available a lot of room inventory for quarantine purpose since the beginning of the pandemic. HRAWI has pleaded to the Government for being appropriately compensated for the services which many Hotels rendered to it for the purposes of accommodation to essential services workers and other Governmental staff. “The prevailing Covid-19 pandemic has made a significant impact and has adversely affected Hotel and Restaurant owners. Our revenues have plunged overwhelmingly and unfortunately, meeting the ever-mounting commitments and liabilities has rendered quite a few of our Establishments as non-performing assets. Hence, we request the Government to kindly consider the above suggestions into the ‘MISSION BEGIN AGAIN – PHASE VI’ Order, effective from 1st September 2020,” concludes Mr. Kohli.

Amritsar
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, wanderlust travelers are left dreaming about the day they will get to go explore the ends of the earth again. But until that day comes, we decided to help you live vicariously through the journeys of others reliving their best travelling experiences – and what better place to begin than Amritsar! I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel to this city a few years ago and almost immediately fell in love with it. Popularly known to be the location of Sikhism holiest shrine – The Golden Temple, Amritsar attracts tons of new tourists every year who come here in hopes to take in the site's blessings and its beauty. The
holy site will leave you stunned with its marvelous architecture and moving Gurbani. You will be left in awe by the of volunteers who dedicate their lives towards compassion and feed thousands of people each day during Langar. While the Golden Temple is amongst the most marvelous sights to see in the country, Amritsar has even more to offer! Whether you are a nature lover or a history fanatic, the city has something in store for you. With miles and miles of views covered with paddy and flower fields, a drive through the more rural areas is sure to make you feel transported into a Bollywood romance like
VeerZaara. It is your one stop spot to learn more about India under the British raj and after. You can pay your respects at Jallianwala Bagh or go to the Partition Museum and learn about the stories and struggles post separation. A few miles away, lies the Wagah Border where symbolically the rivalry and brotherhood of two nations torn apart are performed in ceremony for hundreds of spectators to watch. Finally, what sets Amritsar apart from any other place in the world is its food. You will leave the city dreaming of the day you can come back just to get one more whiff of the scents and one last bite of the food. Whether it is Kesar Da Dhaba's lip smacking paneer or Charming Chicken's delicious malai kabab, I can guarantee you will leave the city wanting more. Some of these eateries were founded 100 years ago, with recipes passed down generations and eating there once will assure you how they are still standing, and how they deserve to stick around for years to come. And so, as a city filled with rich culture and heritage, valuable history and incomparable food, Amritsar truly is a bucket-list worthy spot and a must visit city for anyone that loves to travel!

Temples of India Temples of India A journey that date backs to thousand years!
Built by King Raja Cholan & his sister Kundavai, Brihaadeeswara temple is one of the largest temple complexes and finest example of Dravidian style architecture. Also called Rajarajesvaram or Peruvudaiyār Kōvil, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in South bank of Kaveri river in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu and is UNESCO World Heritage Site. This temple dedicated to lord Shiva is a sight to behold with spellbinding architecture and mysteries. The most amusing fact about this is that entire temple is made of granite and no binding material has ever been used. It has withstood fierce invasions, earthquakes and unpredictable weather conditions and still survived the test of time. With several underground passages and shadow of the main tower not falling on the ground, this temple remains mystery of its every devotee.

Built very close to the Ganges on Manikarnika Ghat of Varanasi with nine degree slant, Ratneshwar Mahadev is a manmade wonder when it comes to unique temples in India. The part of temple is submerged in Ganges and it is believed that years ago in 19th century priests used to perform worship by diving inside the water. The temple is also famously known as Kashi Karvat built by the Queen of Gwalior or the Royal Family. Legends says the one who built the temple wanted to pay his debt to his mother and once the construction of the temple was done, as soon as he uttered the word that debt to his mother has been paid, the temple started tilting backwards proving that it’s impossible to pay mother’s debt in any birth. It’s a must visit and one of the most unique temples in the world.

Kolukkumalai Trek Highest Tea Estate in the World
I never thought I could ever get high on Tea. In fact for that matter, anyone who treks up to the World’s Highest Organic Tea Estate will surely get high. Shades of green, Tall Pine and Eucalyptus trees, acres of tea bushes, freshwater streams from Kurangini Range of mountains and misty clouds all over the place left me spellbound. Located at a height of approximately 6800 ft, this tea estate was built in 1935 but the farming in the area is being done for 150 years. Kolukkumalai is a village in Tamil Nadu, which is also accessible from Munnar (Kerala). The place is primarily known for trekking but also has Jeep safari options and stay on top where the Tea Estate is situated. Once you reach the campsite, there is another trek of about 3 km to view the most enchanting and scintillating sunrise. The Sunrise is the highlight of Kolukkumalai. Amidst clouds and number of peaks, the sight is beyond words. If you are a nature lover, trust me you will never want to come down. About 15 km of a challenging trek is worthwhile. The Jeep safari on a bumpy dirt track also takes you through the same route covering misty estate and is also one of the most thrilling experiences. The trek and Jeep safari both start at a height of 3800 ft above sea level. Jeep ride takes you up through 40-45 hairpin bends so be ready for that adrenaline rush. How to reach - Kolukkumalai is at the hills of Kurangini Range of mountains. Suryanelli is the base location which can be reached only by jeep from Bodiyakanur. Theni, in Tamil Nadu, is the nearest town from where the local buses ply to Bodi. Theni can be reached from various locations. All major State Road Transport Corporation buses ply to and from Theni. It is about 450 km from Bangalore, 570 km from Chennai and just 100 km from Munnar in Kerala.
The Trek Route The trek starts at 3800 ft high above the sea level. Since it was raining and was really misty all through the route it became little slushy and a difficult trek. For the first time, I encountered leeches. Passing through beautiful tea gardens, foggy trails, some dense and dark forest route and water streams we reached our campsite by 5.30 pm and half of our group members who slowly reached by 6.30 pm. It was really dark by then with no lights. An amazingly refreshing freshly brewed organic lemon tea with banana fritters was waiting for us. We attacked, as the hunger pangs were really killing us after the trek. The dinner was also ready by then and we decided to finish dinner early so that we can retire for another long day the next day. Our accommodation was in comfortable tents with sleeping bags. We started at 5 am the next day to get a glimpse of the famous Kolukkumalai Sunrise but since it was cloudy we couldn’t witness it. However, the view from that height was unexpectedly beautiful. It was another trek of 3 km and it took nearly an hour. The wide range of Kurangini Mountains and lush green tea gardens, Oh! I missed a heartbeat. We spent some time there to take photos from all possible angles, time-lapse, videos and used all our creativity to capture some memorable moments.
