It is said that Dwarka was submerged beneath the sea after the death of Lord Krishna and remains one of the most studied underwater sites in the country. Besides, a smattering of prominent temples, the city is known for its vibrant cuisine. From desserts like shrikhand and doodh pak to the lentil based mag-ni-dal, there's a lot on offer. What we have seen is presently visitors at Dwarka are for a day but the idea is to give them in the location at least for a night so, that they can explore the other destination”.

India is on the top four arrivals to Malaysia Malaysia has finally lifted sanctions on its border on 1st April 2022, marking the end of travelling restrictions into the country. Leveraging this new development, Tourism Malaysia has decided to embark on its first roadshow to six major cities in India. The mission was headed by Mr. Manoharan Periasamy, Senior Director of the International Promotion Division (Asia & Africa) together with Malaysia’s tourism fraternity which consists of three (3) Malaysia-based airlines, 22 travel agents, four (4) hoteliers, and four (4) product owners. The resumption of scheduled international flights from India coincides with the reopening of Malaysia’s international borders,” said Mr. Manoharan. “We are thrilled and enthusiastic to welcome Indian travellers back on exciting, new value-driven and action-packed itineraries to witness the best and latest of what Malaysia has to offer. looking forward to discussing and exploring opportunities for sustainable growth, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai to make Dubai the most visited destination and the best city in the world to live and work in. Since reopening to the global market in July 2020, Dubai has never looked back. We have been able to build on this momentum year on year, leading to a hugely successful Expo 2020 Dubai. And ATM comes at a time when the rest of the world wants to be a part of this remarkable journey with Dubai. As the host city, we welcome our industry partners and travel and tourism professionals to this vibrant networking environment to share experiences, insights and best practices to reinvigorate tourism growth in a post-pandemic world. With Dubai continuing to lead the recovery of the international business events sector, it is also important that we recognise the steadfast support of all our stakeholders and partners, which has helped further enhance the trust that international travellers have placed in the city as a global destination that is open, safe and accessible.” One of many show highlights, the revamped and rebranded ATM Travel Tech event, previously called Travel Forward, has undergone a year-on-year expansion of almost 400%. In addition to the latest travel technology products and services, the ATM Travel Tech Stage will host a series of seminars, debates and presentations focused on the long-term trajectory of tourism in the Middle East. The inaugural ATM Draper-Aladdin Start-up Competition, meanwhile, has generated significant buzz since its launch earlier this year. Held in conjunction with AladdinB2B and Draper Associates, the initiative will see 15 travel, tourism and hospitality start-ups pitch for US$500,000 of funding – not to mention the opportunity to compete for an additional US$500,000 of investment as part of hit TV show, Meet the Drapers.

Ethiopian Airlines

Marks 50 Years of Uninterrupted Service to Mumbai Ethiopian Airlines, celebrates 50 years of continuous service to Mumbai, India. Ethiopian Airlines made its debut flight to Mumbai, one of its oldest destinations in Asia, on 01 December 1971 although it started operations to New Delhi in 1966, just 20 years after the airline was founded. The once a week flight from Addis Ababa to Mumbai and onward to Peking operated by B720 aircraft pioneered the air transport linkage between Africa-India and China. Gradually over the years, the frequency increased to twice and then thrice weekly until Ethiopian commenced daily operations to Mumbai. A moment of pride for Ethiopian Airlines Mumbai operations was on 12 February 2015 when the airline increased its services to Mumbai to double daily proving the great scope it had in the commercial capital of India. Ethiopian has expanded its operation to three passenger and five cargo destinations with its enhanced services and modern fleet. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew said, "We are thrilled to have celebrated this big milestone-50 years of uninterrupted service to Mumbai thereby connecting the people of India to the vast Ethiopian global network. Mumbai is the commercial capital of India and one of the key destinations in Asia; we will maintain our commitment to serve Mumbai, thereby providing it access to our 127 destinations with our latest aircraft. Ethiopian has paved the way for people to people and trade ties between India and Africa with its multiple destinations in India. We are glad to have served Mumbai and the people of India in

general for the last 55 years.” The five decades' journey of Ethiopian Airlines in India started from B720, B727, B757, B767, and became the first to bring the B787 Dreamliner to India. With great fanfare, Mumbai welcomed Ethiopian state of the art aircraft on August 25, 2012. Currently, Ethiopian operates A350 and B777 to Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru in India. Ethiopian freighters also operate to Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad.

INTERNATIONAL Saudi Arabia as kingdom prepares to cater to pent-up demand from returning pilgrims A total of 32,621 hotel rooms are currently under construction in Saudi Arabia, as the kingdom prepares to meet pent-up demand from pilgrims returning to its holy cities. That's according to the latest research from STR, commissioned by Arabian Travel Market (ATM). The analysts found that the country's revenue per available room (RevPAR) recovery index stands at 52 percent, noting that the absence of millions of Muslim pilgrims has significantly impacted hotel performance in Saudi Arabia. Medina and Makkah witnessed RevPAR rates of just 33 percent and 24 percent, respectively, in 2021. Hotels in Al Khobar are currently outperforming those in Saudi Arabia's other major cities, with RevPAR surpassing pre-pandemic levels in 2021. Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, meanwhile, recorded recovery index rates of 88 percent, 85 percent and 56 percent, respectively, last year. With two sessions dedicated exclusively to the kingdom, attendees, exhibitors and delegates will have ample opportunity to take a deep dive into Saudi Arabia's tourism, travel and hospitality industry at ATM 2022. The first, ''From strategy to reality: Saudi Arabias tourism vision comes of age', part of the ATM Saudi Forum, will focus on infrastructure progress, niche markets and fresh opportunities, as the country works to attract 100 million annual visitors by 2030. The second, ''Saudi Arabias blueprint for responsible tourism development', will explore how sustainability, community inclusion, education and training, and the legacy impact of KSA's broad-ranging tourism vision can offer a best-practice model for other global destinations. The ATM Saudi Forum will feature high-level experts including Mahmoud Abdulhadi, Deputy Minister for Investment Attraction at

the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, CEO, SAUDIA, Amr AlMadani, CEO, the Royal Commission for AlUla, Majed bin Ayed Al-Nefaie, CEO, Seera Group Holding, Fawaz Farooqui, Managing Director, Cruise Saudi, John Pagano, CEO, Red Sea Development Company & AMAALA and Jerry Inzerillo, CEO, Diriyah Gate Development Authority. “While religious tourism will no doubt remain a mainstay for Saudi Arabia, the global travel community is also understandably excited about new prospects that are opening up thanks to the country's growing investment in other segments,” added Curtis. “As its postpandemic recovery continues to gather pace, ATM 2022 represents the ideal forum in which to discuss the countless opportunities offered by the kingdom's ever-expanding tourism market.”
