AVIATION UPS begins first direct flight from India to Europe A UPS 747 flight is now connecting India directly to Europe and connecting UPS customers to North and Latin American markets five days per week. That doubles the company’s previous capacity to and from India for small and medium-sized business customers looking to grow their revenue base. UPS’s first direct flight from India will connect Delhi to its largest international hub at Cologne, Germany. Customers have been diversifying their supply chains as they respond to pandemic disruptions. And cargo space in the belly of passenger aircraft – normally reliable and costeffective – has been significantly reduced. Now, buoyed by market demand and with an eye on business continuity, Indian entrepreneurs are looking for reliable alternatives to import and export products. sellers with speed, precision and ease, regardless of the distance that separates them.  A mission to make doing business across international borders just as easy as doing business across town.  More capacity with the Boeing 747 (payload of 307,000 pounds), which translates to lower cost for customers and lower emissions with fewer flights needed. “When business demand is increasing and volumes globally are being challenged, what you need is a smart logistics network that can respond to what customers are asking for, in an altered business environment. The agility to connect major economies to India via a direct flight for exports and imports is an example of UPS’s better not bigger strategy and will provide reliability and expanded capacity to UPS’s customers,” said Rachid Fergati, Managing Director Middle East, Central Asia, and Indian subcontinent for UPS.

PATAN was the capital of Gujarat between the eighth and fifteenth centuries. The city is know for Patola Sarees and Rani ki Vav, an intricately constructed stepwell. Rani ki Vav was built during the last decade of the 11th century by Rani Udaymati in memory of her husband Bhimdeva I. It is located on the banks of Saraswati River. It is one of the largest vavs (step well), 7 floors with around 800 sculptures. The evidence is not available in connected with this Vav. It was buried with the mud might to be saved by the invader or not to be destroyed. It was retrieved in the year 1980. The complex Maru-Gurjara architectural style with an inverted temple. It was added to the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites on 22 June 2014. Rani ki Vav also bagged the title of “Cleanest Iconic Place” in India at the Indian Sanitation Conference

Patan, Gujarat

(INDOSAN) 2016 in New Delhi. I got a chance to speak some of the Local people, with their story. Dr. Poonam Patel, a Doctor by profession belong to a doctor family her father, brother and sister-in-law all are Doctorate but still they believed in the Miracles and have faith on all-mighty. She told me that they believed if someone suffering from the cough or throat problem drinks the water of this vav the person will surely get well soon if prayed to Dansi Maa. She with her family were performing some rituals there and gave us the Prasad (rice and sugar) of Dansi Maa. The nearest airport is Ahmedabad (125 km). Patan lies on the Western Railway network of the Indian railways and is very well linked by roadways to all the major cities of Gujarat and other states of the country.

INSIGHT Jamaica Experiencing Strong Tourism Rebound Jamaica is currently experiencing one of the fastest travel and tourism recoveries in the world. Senior executives of Amadeus, a Europeanbased global travel company that serves as a backbone for the international travel industry have found that the searches and demand for the destination were running 50 per cent ahead of the global average and travel agents led bookings and searches doubling the global average. “Jamaica has been doing the right things in the marketplace and the airlines and tour partners are responding in confidence. We also note that average room night stays are longer, and airlines are putting on more capacity to meet the demand. This is very good news for Jamaica, and in many places the news is just not good,” noted Rayner.

HOSPITALITY The 2022 Traveler: Emerging Trends and the Redefined Traveler, a Report from Hilton There is no doubt that the pandemic modified travel – but that’s just part of the story. Hilton released a global trends report unpacking how the pandemic changed people. “The 2022 Traveler: Emerging Trends and the Redefined Traveler, a Report from Hilton” dives into an important truth: in two years, people’s lives were dramatically altered and that radically changed people. As a company that has welcomed 3 billion guests in its more than 100-year history, Hilton showcases within the report how it is evolving alongside the changing traveler, tackling areas of expertise such as:  Fitness: How app workouts and new fitness routines have changed people’s approach to where, when and how they exercise on-the-road.  Spa: How the increased focus on wellness is evolving the spa, as well as the holistic, hotel experience.  Food and beverage: How the home baking trend is translating into more demand for culinary adventures; the rising preference for low- to no-alcohol beverages.  Sustainability: From sustainable food sourcing to waste reduction, how 18 months in lockdown is driving a renewed passion for a healthy planet.  Design: How DIY improvements, plant-crazed hobbies and working from patios is changing people’s perspective of hotel design.  Amenities: How the rise in pet ownership during the pandemic is leading to increased interest in pet travel and the development of hotel pet amenities, perks and more.  Loyalty: How the rise of loyalty programs – across all sectors – is leading to better personalization and benefits to customers. “The world – and the hospitality industry – went through so much in the last two years. And as we’ve uncovered in this report, travelers’ needs and interests have shifted too,” said Chris Nassetta, president and chief executive officer, Hilton. “At Hilton, we’ve been incredibly focused on delivering the experiences our guests are looking for,

through every up and down we’ve faced. As we look to the future, I am optimistic about what lies ahead – travel is certainly returning, and we’re excited to build on that momentum.” The Report highlights dozens of eye-opening travel and behavioral trends that are leading to innovations both inside and outside of the hotel. Overall Focus on Wellness Will Span Beyond the Gym: With a reimagined workplace and new routines and habits in place, travelers will be looking for more grounding and balance in their travel schedules. They Nurtured New and Existing Passions and Will Have More Refined Tastes and Preferences: New and refreshed hobbies are leading to a more informed, sophisticated, and, in some cases, in-shape 2022 traveler. People are anticipated to pack their passions, driving demand for new trends in fitness, culinary options and unique travel experiences. A New Sense of Caring Has Emerged – And Is Expected to Strengthen: The pandemic separated families and friends, which is leading to a prioritization of reunion and reconnection travel in 2022. Beyond their inner circles, travelers are expected to care more about sustainability and community efforts – and are looking to remain loyal to brands, companies and organizations that align with their values. “With travel restrictions gradually easing in some Asia Pacific markets, 2022 looks promising for the region. Despite the pandemic, we continued to expand our footprint at record pace and introduced new brands in Asia Pacific, and we are looking forward to welcoming the travellers of tomorrow and spreading the light and warmth of travel and hospitality,” said Alexandra Jaritz, senior vice president, Brand Management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. Explore the unparalleled ocean in a beach resort town of

Hua Hin, Thailand

When one thinks of Thailand, the most apparent choices for tourists would include Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Ko Samui. Having visited these places, I was curious to learn about the destination on hearing its name on the first go. This familiarization happened when a friend kept raving about the place she had visited multiple times. What caught my attention was its unusual name Hua Hin. I was excited to be acquainted with the tranquil, attractive destination which also happens to be the summertime retreat of its royal family. Located just 186 km from Bangkok, the destination encompassing the orchards, network of canals, greenery, forests, sea, makes it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the usual city life. Hua Hin is blessed with beautiful beaches, making it a popular destination for travellers within the country and foreigners. We had booked our stay at the Anantara beach resort, the resort was chic, the well-manicured gardens and coconut trees added to the charm of this lotus covered lagoon, the rooms were generous in size, and the buffet spread with tantalizing aromatic dishes offered varied options of delicacies, leaving the taste buds asking for more. As we enjoyed the pool and the pizzas, we were also keen to explore the destination which was our home for the long weekend. We started our journey by visiting the iconic station of Hua Hin, which boasts of Victorian design architecture, and not to miss the light post which carried the mythological birds. This being a historic landmark, the railway station sees tourists explore its vibrant structure and brightly painted buildings and trains. As the sun set and the night fell, we headed towards the weekend market, called the Cicada Market. This market deserves a special place, the ambiance is friendly, lively, and the stalls offer local delicacies, desserts, delicious homemade cakes, and ice creams, among others. While visiting the Chat Chai market we came across many foot massage shops, lined at the night market street. The market boasted endless options in fresh seafood meals.

When visiting Hua Hin with children, one must make it a point to visit the Black Mountain Water Park. The wave pools, lazy river, fun, and exciting water slides, make it a perfect destination for the family to enjoy and unwind. A little village by the name o f K h a o Ta k i a b o r Chopstick Hill in Thai is lively and buzzing with tourists owing to the attractions it offers. The depiction of discrimination is exhibited even at the ticket window where visitors are assigned random races and made to go through separate gates for whites and blacks. A room in the museum displays the 131 nooses representative of the 131 government opponents who lost their lives for fighting for democracy.
