Taking into consideration the fact that architecture is a team job, most of the presented projects are a result of working in a team and they represent the outcome of strong and reliable collaborations between me and other team members or clients. Having in mind the fact that the architecture job is composed of many steps, the presented projects cover most of the design process. Most of the work was made as part of a team, where each member had a certain designing phase to fulfill, that’s why on each project my role was different, covering this way all of the designing process. Considering the complexity of the projects, the work was divided between collaborators, having as common ground the main concept and ideas for the project. For the purpose of full understanding of the projects, there was proposed an interior design, as well as landscape design and full technical drawings. Also, being team projects, I was an active part of the different phases, trying to find new ways of resolving the functional problems, keeping in mind the requests of the client.
The best way to improve yourself, to test your limits and abilities, as well as learning and working with a team is through competition. Architecture and design competitions are an important and a big part of the portfolio, illustrating the final results on international architecture and interior design competitions. Entering in competition with architects and designers from the whole world creates a dynamic and creative environment, where you have to improve your work with each project. The competitions range from the concept design, new residential to remodeling or interior design, each project offering different opportunities of creating new and dynamic solutions, that can answer to specific requirements.

The project of Mountain Chalet is located in Villars-sur-Ollon, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, having hotel destination both in winter and in summer. Located in the Alps, it must meet strict legislation with regard to architectural image, functional structure, especially the treatment of facade. The proposed project tries to answer the question of living spaces for the homeless people of Chicago. The proposal focuses on creating affordable, low-cost housing units that respond to the social requests as well as the environmental and architectural standards of the site.
The main concept of the tree house was the total closing of the house from the exterior, becoming a house of secrets, an intimate and unique space for one or two individuals. The house can be completely closed to the exterior, or opened, depending on the situation and the needs of the user.

The project is a scenario of implementing the function of library and tea house in a locally, well-known, historic house. The house had a strange and sad destiny, being abandoned and set on fire, today is just a ruin that keeps some of its old characteristics. The aim of this project was to revive the house by giving it a different function, converting it to a more public usage, so people can see and understand the importance of conserving and using heritage buildings. Considering that the existing house has its exterior shell intact, the project was more focused on the interior of the house, how to integrate the new function into the existing spaces without ruining the historical layout of the house. The existing layout of the house allowed the adaptation of the rooms to accommodate a small library and a tea space.

Most of the projects created during the years in Architecture School were concept projects, where it was offered the opportunity to create interesting and ideal design in order to solve one or a series of given issues, like urban regeneration through architecture, urban integration, dynamic architecture, free plan designing principles, adaptability, functionality.
From studying the existing architecture, to creating new designs in order to answer a certain issue or to understand different architectural principlas, most of the academic projects were bold proposals. The presented projects are a small part of the number of created projects during the 6 years of study. Regarding my role in each project, I had a different role each time, from 2 D drafting, concept design, sketching, to 3 D modeling, rendering and post processing for presentation purposes.

The main aim was to arrange and create the needed functions within a glass house without combining the day and night functions. The name of the house is based on the shape of the wall that separates the functions for the day activities – living, dining, kitchen, study room, and the functions for the night activities – bedrooms, dressing, bathrooms. Every room is opened to the exterior, creating a visual and physical flow between the exterior and interior spaces.
