Passionate about the importance of education, Dr. Steve Houpe was led of the Lord to establish a private Christian School for children in 1990. Harvest Christian Schools (HCS) is an institution dedicated to “Training Up Leaders To Impact Generations.” The mission of HCS is to deliver a superior “quality of” Christian education that supports the development of the child’s total needs. That is academic, spiritual, physical, emotional, and social. HCS has an academically and culturally enriched program that develops well-rounded students for life-long success. Through proactive partnerships between a committed staff, families, and the community for 30 years we have successfully achieved our mission. Now possessing over 35 years of educational expertise, Dr. Donna Leah Houpe became the Executive Administrator of HCS in 1994 and begin to enhance the scope and vision for impacting the school’s students. Beginning with the Early Learning Center, HCS establishes an atmosphere of safety and an educational experience that is conducive to every child’s learning style. Through

the school’s Eight Educational Modules, students are offered a competitive and accelerated curriculum for learning. The modules include Evangelistic Ministry and Outreach, Leadership Development, Science and Technology, Early Learning and Development, Communication Arts, Visual, Fine and Musical Arts, and Athletics and Fitness. HCS prides itself on keeping its curriculum both competitive and adaptive for students. One of the greatest areas of focus right now is S.T.E.A.M. which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. The emphasis of S.T.E.A.M. subjects at HCS, keep both learning and fun at an all-time high.

SCIENCE Through Science, HCS fosters the curiosity of young minds in a variety of ways from early introduction of advanced learning concepts, hands on experimentation, and its annual science fair. The Science Fair at HCS is something that faculty and students look forward to every year as it opens up the door for students to not only immerse themselves in age-appropriate scientific research and learning, but also opens the door for local and state-wide competition in other Science Fairs. “It is important that Science is not viewed as an overly complicated subject for students. When they associate complication, they build up a wall that prevents learning—and the only reason they build walls preventing learning is because they are not properly exposed to concepts.” Says HCS Executive Administrator, Dr. Donna Houpe.
