“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” - Muhammad Ali

READY FOR A NEW SERVICE YEAR? Welcome to the PATHFINDER Welcome to the official newsletter of Patrick Quinn, District Editor of the New Jersey District of Key Club International. I was honored to meet many of you at District Convention and I would like to thank all who supported me in my campaign for Editor. PATHFINDER is defined as one who discovers and shows others the way. The title was picked to symbolize leadership and teamwork which is a notable trait among Key Club members. Through this newsletter I hope to exemplify the leadership of the New Jersey Key Club along with inspiring those who find themselves reading these publications. Now a little about myself: I’m a junior at Hunterdon Central and Key Club has been a big part of my life since I joined in my freshman year. At first I joined, not even knowing what Key Club was, just to go to Six Flags. At that first Fall Rally, I learned what it meant to be part of Key Club and I’ve dedicated myself to the it ever since. I served as the Editor of my club and then, after losing the election for LTG, I went on to become the president of my club. I am excited to be serving my last full service year on the District Board as Editor. We’ve got a great year ahead of us and I intend to make the best of it. Yours in Caring and Service,

District Editor Pat Quinn

The New Jersey District Board I was more than happy to find out Sunday Morning at DCON that I was elected to the District Editor position of the District Board for the 2014 to 2015 service year. I would like to offer my congratulations to the other Executive Board members elected: Treasurer Daniel McCormack, Secretary Jacqueline Dragon, and Webmaster Srikar Gudipati. I’d like to especially congratulate Governor Samantha Levisay. I was honored to have her as the Lieutenant Governor of my division during my time as president. I am excited to continue working with her along with all the other District Board Members in the upcoming year.

Board Member Spotlight: Sam Levisay I had the pleasure in meeting Sam when I ran against here for LTG of Division 12. Although I lost, I was glad to have lost to such an inspiring peer. I enjoyed working with her when I was president and her attitude towards Key Club was simply inspiring. She is a friend to all and I am glad to continue working with her. I am happy that she was elected as Governor and I am confident that she will be continue to bring the New Jersey District to greatness. “My goal is to build the K-Family to greater heights than New Jersey had ever see before with the help of the District Board”

Who doesn't love some good photos? Photos attract the attention of the readers, pulling them to a specific page you want them to read. Now you don’t have to have an expensive DSLR camera. Now a days there are many inexpensive Point-and-shoot cameras and many smart phone cameras are getting better all the time so don’t be afraid to use that IPhone camera.

The weekend of the 2014 District Convention was on of the best of my life. This was the first DCON I have been able to attend in my Key Club career. It was great to meet so many great Key Clubbers from the New Jersey District. It was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had and regret missing out on them in the past. One of the great aspects of DCON was the inspiring Key Club members I met; Whether you were a board or a general member, you are a part of something bigger than any one of us Running for Editor was a fun experience and I enjoyed the opportunity to speak in front of all you and answer questions. I hope I was able to show you all my enthusiasm for Key Club and my eagerness to help make the New Jersey District better than ever before. Thank you to everyone there who made the experience as great as possible. If you were not in attendance at DCON, I suggest that you go to next years DCON. I promise you that you wont regret it.
