Westport Plaza Your Holiday Entertainment Destination
I
f you haven’t been to Westport Plaza in awhile, then this holiday season you should come out and experience all there is to do. With so many choices of restaurants and entertainment, there’s something for everyone. And you’ll definitely want to check out the makeover the outdoor village is getting! Whether you’re looking for a night out of comedy and sushi or live music and burgers, there’s always more to do and a place to stay at Westport. Also home to many annual events such as the Missouri Winefest in February, Missouri Brewfest in May and Parties in the Plaza April thru September, you don’t want to miss out on all of the excitement!
Every December Westport Plaza hosts a Santa Claus event where children can come get their photo taken with Santa, enjoy cookies and hot cocoa, get their face painted, have fun balloon characters created and listen to live holiday music and entertainment performed by DaySpring School of the Arts. And the best part of it all- the event is completely free to the public. Emily Lewis, Marketing Coordinator for the Plaza says, “This is a way for us to give back to the community during the holiday season and to gain exposure for the Plaza. The event is also a nice change from having your children’s photos taken at the mall.” So, mark your calendars to visit Santa Claus at Westport on Saturday, December 8
from 10am – 12pm. Please note due to high demand to see Santa, they recommend seeing him before any other activities. Line to see Santa will be cut-off at noon. During the holiday season Westport lights up with trees throughout the village, lit garland on every light pole, a tree display in the fountain and much more! Westport also offers free carriage rides every Friday and Saturday in December from 6 – 8pm. The ride begins in front of St. Louis Bread Company and goes around the Plaza. The many restaurants and bars on property also offer holiday specials and are more than happy to accommodate your family or business holiday parties. If you’re looking for a way to ring in the New Year, Westport Plaza has a spectacular fireworks display the whole family will enjoy at 6pm and free carriage rides
Entertainment Services for Westport Plaza provided by LaDeDa Entertainment.
around the Plaza from 6:30-9:30pm on New Year’s Eve. If you plan to enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants and enjoy a stay at one of the Sheraton hotels on property be sure to make your reservations early because they do book up fast. So, this holiday season be sure to visit Westport Plaza at Page and I-270 and experience all of the exciting things happening! For details visit westportstl.com or call 314.576.7100.

Wrap gifts as you buy them Buy wrapping paper, ribbon and tags on sale after Christmas so you will have it handy. Trim a smaller tree. Do not decorate every nook and cranny in your house. A few well placed decorations is enough. Buy holiday cards early this year, and after Christmas for next year when they are 50% off. Address, stamp and sign a few cards every evening. Take time to relax. I love to turn on the tree lights, listen to Christmas carols, and relax with a glass of wine or a cup of cocoa. Aaah.
6
Stay well. Boost your immune system with vitamins and minerals to help you stay healthy.
7
Reduce your sugar intake. Increased consumption of desserts and sweets during the holidays makes you sluggish and tired. When you are tired you get behind schedule, and stress out, and the vicious circle begins.
8
25
Shop for holiday gifts all year. If you shop in December, shop in small local stores instead of malls or superstores for unique gifts, easier parking and smaller crowds.
At the end of each day review what you have accomplished and be satisfied. Don’t feel bad about what you did not get done. Remember “Some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue!” ~ Dilbert TimeOff Magazine / Nov-Dec, 2012
