Lions Host an Evening of Fun The Ste. Anne Lions Club held their third annual evening of Coffee and Entertainment. The evening was a huge success as the hall was packed and roaring with excitement. Visitors enjoyed coffee, tea, and dainties all prepared by the Ste. Anne Lions Club. Like every year, the music was phenomenal.
This year’s entertainment was Trev Schellenberg and friends. There was a silent auction and a 50/50 draw where one lucky guest took home $260. All procceds raised during the night went to the local food bank, the Accueil Kateri Center in Ste. Anne. They currently help 28 local familys with extra food every two weeks. Does This Guy Look Familiar???
On January 12 officers from the Steinbach RCMP's General Investigation Section arrested a prolific offender following an investigation that was initiated in December 2015 when the RCMP became aware of the suspect's fraudulent activities. Jesse Daniel Cole, 32, of no fixed address, has been charged with 21 counts of breaching his probation, 7 counts of fraud under $5,000, one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of unauthorized possession of credit card data. Cole remains in custody. It is believed that Cole has been using dating and social media web sites to meet and defraud women using aliases, including "Jesse Sinclair." Cole is also wanted for similar offences in Alberta, Quebec and Ontario. "We're releasing this information and his picture to encourage anyone who may have been defrauded by this individual to contact their local policing agency." said Sgt Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. "We want to ensure that this individual is charged for all of the crimes he has committed, not only the ones reported so far."
