Former Mayor of the RM of Taché, Robert Rivard, is officially nominated as the candidate for the Manitoba Liberal Party in the constituency of Dawson Trail for the upcoming provincial election. “Manitobans deserve health care close to home and the Pallister Government is making access health care more difficult. I will fight to ensure that public health care is protected in Manitoba,” said Rivard. “We also need to properly fund our public education system to ensure our full potential is reached. Manitoba Liberals have the best plan to take the province and the great constituency of Dawson Trail on a new way forward.” Rivard has spent many years as a community leader representing the constituents of Dawson Trail. He was a school trustee in the Seine River School Division for 19 years and the Mayor of Taché from 2014-2018. “I am honoured that Robert has decided to join the Manitoba Liberal team. Robert has a history of community service and will be an amazing representative for the people of Dawson Trail,” said Dougald Lamont, Leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party.
