THE FORGOTTEN TRAIL Dawson Trail, dormant for over 100 years, is one of Manitoba’s hidden gems... Help us bring it alive!

The Dawson Trail Arts & Heritage Tour Committee, in collaboration with the Dawson Trail Museum of Richer, are looking for artists and artisans (including but not limited to visual arts, sculpture, fabric art, published authors, music and performing artists) interested in being part of a self-directed, free, driving art tour featuring individual artist studios and group venues along the Dawson Road between Richer and Lorette, as well as surrounding areas. We hope to include traditional French and Indigenous artisans, as well as local products and flavours from artisan farmers near the Trail. Participating artist will work together as a collective and receive valuable support in terms of marketing, with works presented alongside other professional artists and peers within the arts community.

A colorful and engaging promotional website and brochure detailing the artists and artisans involved will be a key tool for this project, along with support from local media and Tourism Manitoba. This is a great opportunity to engage with the community and other PLANNED DAWSON TRAIL artists, while promoting and selling ART TOUR your work. As Manitoba celebrates DATES End of September, 2020 its 150th birthday in 2020, there is WHERE Along the Dawson Trail no better time to spearhead this initiative and we hope we can count on between Richer and Lorette, MB and surrounding areas your support. a t-shirt Every Friday until October 25, the Town of Ste. Anne will be having a Fun Fact Friday (FFF) contest on there facebook page, giving away a t-shirt to the winner of the FFF question. We will draw a winner from all those who answer our Fun Fact Friday question correctly. **This contest is open to Town of Ste. Anne residents only.** The contest will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please submit your answers by email to town@steanne.ca with your home address. Any answers submitted in the comments or by Facebook messenger will not be valid for the draw. We will draw a name at 2:00 pm and announce the winner on the FFF question Facebook post. Once announced, the winner can come to the Town of Ste. Anne office and claim their t-shirt. Proof of ID will be required to claim prize at pick up. Please share and spread the word.


FALL SUPPER Parish of Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes

The annual Fall Supper of the Parish of Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes will be held on Sunday October 6 from 3 to 7 pm in the Ste. Anne Collegiate’s gymnasium, 197 St. Alphonse, Ste. Anne. Cost is $15 per person (13 years old and over), and $5 per children from 5 to 12 years old. The meal is free for 4 years old and under. The traditional menu includes turkey and stuffing, meat balls, ham, mashed potatoes, homemade bread and pies, and much more. Take-out meals also available. There will be a silent auction and all profits will go towards the Parish’s good works, including Accueil Kateri Centre. Guests are invited to contribute to the food bank by bringing nonperishable foods. The fall supper committee is always looking for volunteers. Town Public Open House The Town of Ste. Anne is currently reviewing its Development Plan and Zoning By-law. As part of this process, the Town is inviting community members to participate by attending a public open house at Club Jovial on October 17 between 5:00 and 8:00 PM. This event will allow attendees to ask questions, share ideas, and express concerns. If you are unable to attend, you can still take part by filling out a brief survey, which will be available on the Town’s website – Community Messages page. You can also email town@steanne.ca to sign up for updates regarding future opportunities to participate.

Halloween Taco Turkey Peppers Enjoy a decorative and carb conscious Halloween dinner in less than 60 minutes! These little bell peppers are fun to carve and packed with lean ground turkey protein! Serve them as spooky party appetizers at your next gathering! Ingredients 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey 1 pack Taco Seasoning 1 small red onion 2 cloves garlic (minced) 1 (14.5-ounce) can tomatoes (diced) 6 medium bell peppers

Directions Heat oven to 400°F. In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey, onion and garlic and cook 14 to 16 minutes or until turkey is cooked through. Always cook to well-done, 165°F as measured by a meat thermometer. Stir in tomatoes and cook 3 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut tops off peppers and carefully remove seeds and membranes. Using a sharp knife cut decorated faces into sides of peppers. Spoon turkey mixture into peppers and replace tops. Place in lightly greased baking dish. Bake 20 minutes.
