Seine River Seniors Hire New Coordinator Mélanie Brémaud has been hired as the new resource coordinator for the Seine River Service for Seniors. “I have many years of experience in client service and I am very excited to be of service to the community and be of help to all residents,” says Bremaud. You can find her in the office, in the Chalet at La Broquerie, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

SUPPER
Parish of Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes
The annual Fall Supper of the Parish of Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes will be held on Sunday October 6 from 3 to 7 pm, in the Ste. Anne Collegiate’s gymnasium, 197 St. Alphonse, Ste. Anne. Cost is $15 per person (13 years old and over), and $5 per children from 5 to 12 years old. The meal is free for 4 years old and under. The traditional menu includes turkey and stuffing, meat balls, ham, mashed potatoes, homemade bread and pies, and much more. Take-out meals available. There will be a silent auction and all profits will go towards the Parish’s good works, including Kateri Centre. Guests are invited to contribute to the food bank by bringing nonperishable foods. The fall supper committee is always looking for volunteers. Spiced Walnuts
These Fall Spiced Walnuts make great hostess and teachers gifts so wrap some up for a party or your kid’s teachers! Ingredients 2 lbs walnuts 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 cup water
Instructions Mix sugar with spices. Add enough water to make it messy (~1/2 cup). Add walnuts and mix enough to coat the nuts. Spread out on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake at 200F for 1 hour being sure to stir every 20 minutes. Take out and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for three months.
Multiple Vehicle Rummage Multiple vehicles were rummaged through on the evening of September 2nd in town. Three individuals have been apprehended and charged. Please check your vehicles and send an email to sapd@steanne.ca if you were victimized, and let them know what you’re missing.
