Walking Tall The Ste. Anne Lions Club helped Mr. Bourgouin from Ste. Anne walk a little taller last week when they presented him with a new walker. His regular sized walker caused him to bend over to reach the handles and was just not suitable for a man of his stature. The Ste. Anne Lions Club aims to provide assistance to anyone in the community in need of help. If you would like more information on the Lions Club feel free to speak to one of your local Lions or email them at steannelionsclub@gmail.com.

Lions Coffee House Fundraiser Sells Out
The Ste. Anne Lions Club held their second coffee and entertainment evening on Saturday, February 28. According to the Lions Club, the evening was a total success. The hall was decorated with kites to promote the Lions upcoming Kite Festival to be held on June 20 in Ste. Anne. Peace posters created by children from the local schools decorated the walls and funny little Lion bobble heads and handmade games topped each table turning Club Jovial into a very fun relaxing atmosphere. The evening’s musical entertainment by the Chammartin Family literally brought the house to their feet cheering for an encore. “They are amazingly talented artists and made the night very memorable,” said guest Cathy Roy. There was a silent auction and honey sales and a 50/50 draw to raise funds for future causes in the community. During the evening Lion Chris Barnard called up 14-year-old Katrina McPherson, who is always eager to lend a hand in her community, and named her an honorary Lion and presented her with her very own name tag. “I love volunteering it’s so much fun to help out. I really can’t wait until I’m old enough to join the Lions Club,” said an excited Katrina. Lions Club International is the world's largest service organization with 1.35 million members in 207 different countries. The Ste. Anne Lions Club is a new service in town. They are dedicated to helping those in the area who need assistance. If you are interested in helping out in your community and learning more about the Ste. Anne Lions Club please email the lions at steannelionsclub@gmail.com.
