“InmyinauguralexhibitionatPatriciaRovzarGallery,“Intermissions,”Iinviteviewersto explorethepoignantbeautyfoundinopen,abandonedspacesandthetimelessallure of iconic design. I’m searching for the essence of places that have been left behind or forgotten, where silence speaks volumes and echoes of the past linger in the air. My work invites the audience to reflect on the stories these spaces once held.
This body of work features both deserted places and objects with celebrated design—the sleek form of an Airstream trailer or the elegance of an Eames chair. This combination of objects and abandoned environments creates the shadow of a narrative, one of a bygone era where optimism and innovation can be found. Like phantoms, these objects help to examine themes of impermanence, memory, and the tension between human endeavor and nature’s reclamation.
There is beauty in the overlooked and discovery resonates within these interstitial moments—the pauses between what was and what might be. In a world that often rushes forward, I hope to offer an opportunity for pensive introspection, to linger, to reflect,andtoappreciatethequietnarrativesthatemergefromthespacesweinhabit.“
