This last year I traveled over 7,000 miles searching for neon signs around the country. When planning my routes and deciding which roads to take and when, I pay attention to the skies. A cloudy day or a sunny day can make all the difference when meeting a sign. I have to keep coming back because—though I do love a thunderstorm at my campsite—it is something quite spectacular to find a sign on a sunny day with perfect shadows just waiting there.
