Patrizia Toscano graduated with honours, earning her degree in personal profile and cv Architecture in 2007 from the G. D’Annunzio University in Pescara, Italy. Her thesis in Architectural Composition focused on the system of archaeological museums in Rome, developing a project for the requalification and expansion of the Museo della Civiltà Romana. The thesis was developed under the direction of prof. Francesco Garofalo (thesis title: QUANTA FUIT. The System of Archaeological Museums i1n Rome. Virtual, pedagogic, ludic, the new Museo della Civiltà Romana in the EUR). After graduating she worked with various Italian architectural offices (Bodino engineering and Studio A&A, Turin, Ipostudio architetti, Florence, LandBAU, Chieti, Giovanni Vaccarini architetto, Pescara) where she was exposed to residential, museum, sport and scholastic projects, in addition to participating in numerous national and international competitions. Between 2007 and 2011 she accompanied her professional work with a growing interest in the study of the urban phenomena occurring in the public spaces of the contemporary metropolis. In 2011 she was awarded a study grant from the I.D.E.A. Department at the Faculty of Architecture in Pescara, where she also collaborated in the preparation of the Post 2009 Earthquake Reconstruction Plan for the Town of Goriano Sicoli (AQ), under the direction of prof. Carmen Andriani. Since January 2012 she is a PhD research candidate in Architecture and Urbanism. She collaborates in various activities promoted by the Pescara Faculty of Architecture, tutoring the course in Architectural Composition IV taught by prof. Andriani, participating in the following international workshops: Development of Al Mafraq City Downtown, at the Al-Albayt University Jordan; Open City, dwelling the wall, at the Piacenza Campus of the Politecnico di Milano. She is currently involved in her PhD research investigating formal and informal strategies aimed at redefining the role of public space in a context that works toward a new notion of Public (title: ORDINARY PUBLIC SPACES_new roles for the project / new roles for the architects). From september to december 2013 she was a visiting scholar at the Laboratoire Architecture Anthropologie, ENSA Paris La Villette.
