Pattie Chen DES 192 Spring 2019
Week 1
For picnic day, I designed this bi-fold pamphlet for a scavenger hunt activity that people could participate in to earn prizes. The process for this project consisted of taking and editing the photos, designing the layout for pamphlet, integrating UC Davis colors, and printing and folding them.
Week 2
The poster on the right was printed and used on Picnic Day and the poster on the left will be used on Bring Your Kids to Work Day. Both of the posters are designed to be 8.5x11” and are cohesive with previous “Chirldren’s Storytime” events.

These are some new adaptations of a previous table tent I created for the upcoming Human Library event. For this project, I used photos that I had taken at the last event, modified the information and layout, and maintained cohesion with previous event material I had designed.
Week 4
Above, is the table tent my supervisor chose, so I print and cut those out earlier in the week. On the right is a 24x36” sign for a sandwich board that will be placed outside of the library. The header image is a new version I made based on my supervisor’s original version from last year. I had to make it black and white because the printer is currently broken and can’t print in blue.
Week 5
I started working on the materials for the annual Lang Prize event this week. We added an additional winner this year, so I have to modify all of the templates from last year. On the bottom is the new layout for the event program. I also scheduled photoshoots with the winners and began taking some of their headshots.
Week 6 I finished taking and editing all of the winners’ photos this week and placed all of the photos in the templates I had designed last week. Here is a halfpage ad for The California Aggie newspaper. I also finished designing the event program and the email header. On Thursday, I photographed the third Human Library event.
Week 7 The Lang Prize event wrapped up this week— I finalized the program, printed and stuffed the name tags, and wrapped the winners’ prizes. Here is the final version of the program with all of the winner’s photos in place.
Week 8
These are updated versions of tags we are going to put on easles to prevent them from getting lost. I also started working on nametags for an upcoming event next week. EASEL

Week 9 My supervisor asked me to handle the library’s social media accounts for the week. I took and edited this photo for a post wishing students good luck with finals.
