Introduction • Kenya lies on the equator in the continent of Africa. • It is 580,400km2. The land is very diverse. Kenya has grasslands, deserts, rivers, mountains and the Rift Valley. Its climate is different to Britain. On its hottest day in Britain its 50 degrees hotter in Kenya.


• Did you know mount Kenya is the second highest in Africa and the highest in Kenya?

Landscapes


Rift Valley • Rift Valley is famous because runs from the north all the way to the South. You can also see it from space.


Volcanoes • The biggest volcano is Mount Longonot


National Parks • Tsavo National Park is the biggest National Park in Kenya because the park measures over 20,810 square km.


Climate

Did you know the middle of Kenya is smack bang on the equator? It is hot there because the sun is closer to the equator than the rest of the world.


Conclusion • If you like hot weather go to Kenya’s beaches. Also Kenya is rich in natural beauty due to its varied landscapes.
