PAMELA EDE COOPER CLIVE FOSTER MATTHEW SPURR Dear members We would like to introduce ourselves. We hope you can come along to the special canvassing meeting on Wednesday 3rd April 2019 at the Miners Welfare at 7.30pm. We look forward to working with you to secure a strong Labour voice for Calverton. As your candidates and hopefully as your councillors, we pledge to ➢ Represent Calverton ward and the people who live here, enabling you to make your views known to the council. We will respond to your queries and concerns and keep you updated on decisions the council make that affect you. ➢ Build collaborative relationships with Calverton Parish Council, other local organisations, interest groups and businesses, so that we can work in partnership to provide the services Calverton needs. ➢ Encourage local democracy and encourage a culture of empowerment and self organisation within the Calverton Labour branch. ➢ Ensure housing is kept to a high standard and campaign to ensure house building is in line with needs of local people. ➢ Fight for Calverton to have well maintained roads and reliable transport. ➢ Work hard to increase, protect and improve our local play and recreational areas. ➢ Promote clean and green initiatives within Calverton and Gedling. ➢ Help to reduce crime in Calverton by working in partnership with the police and community protection officers. ➢ Continue to campaign for improved schools, better social care provision and NHS services to meet the needs of the ward and nationally. ➢ Resist privatisation and work to bring services back into public ownership. ➢ Ensure equality of opportunity is addressed in everything we do. ➢ Campaign tirelessly for a Labour Government which caters for the needs of the many not the few. We look forward to meeting you on Wednesday 3rd April 2019 at 7.30pm Pamela, Clive and Matthew @Calverton for Labour
