For special occasions, I like the Juice Beauty CC Cream in Natural Glow with a Laura Mercier powder and a Stila concealer . Then either Benefit blusher or Lily Lolo in Tickled Pink and Just Peachy . For contour–I suffer from chipmunk cheeks–I’ll use the Delilah Matte Bronzer in Medium Dark , and the Hourglass Ambient Light Powder . And I either like a strong lip or no lip at all. Nars Heatwave is a bright red, and then Hourglass Icon is a darker one, they’re both so good. Sometimes I’ll use the Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm on my cheekbones to highlight, and then I use it to remove makeup as well. It’s one of those products, it just does it all.

The Three Beauty Products We All Use That Should 100% Be Clean And other pearls of wisdom from Goop’s Beauty Director, Jean Godfrey June.
I heard about Jean Godfrey June long before I met her. Rather, I read her before I met her. Starting my career as a beauty assistant at Teen Vogue, waaay back in the day, I was given a copy of her book, Free Gift With Purchase, and literally guffawed my way through her descriptions of the over-the-top beauty events I suddenly found myself attending. If you haven’t read it, and you’re even mildly interested in editorial or beauty, please do. I lived for her advice column for Lucky (RIP!), and everyone in the industry raved about her wit and style. And that on top of that, she lives in Nyack, NY, not Manhattan! She’s so cool, she has transcended Manhattan. (Check out her home and closet here!) But then, years later I got a job at Lucky, too (again, RIP!!), and the legendary JGJ, then Beauty Director, and I became friends IRL. Dreams. They do come true! She was every bit as fabulous as I thought she’d be—she had the answer to every question and was constantly dewy (a word I knew she loved) and lovely without looking like she put any effort into it. She’s the real deal. “People’s perceptions were that clean makeup was really tough – the only color was this sort of fleshy pink-brown, and everything was that color, and that’s completely changed. You look at my favorite Olio e Osso or look at Rodin, or Juice Beauty has incredible colors and incredible textures. People always wonder, ‘Does it work?’ I’ve certainly found – at least where we are now – the technology is fantastic, but [the clean beauty industry is] less focused on having fillers and texturizers [in their products]. A lot of times you’re getting a higher concentration o the [active ingredient]. The products are really like [traditional] beauty products. They’re fun, they’re beautiful, they work.”

JUICE BEAUTY GREEN APPLE BRIGHTENING ESSENCE FRIDAY, JULY 28, 2017 An essence has to be the most bougie skincare item, right? Well, I tried one out and here are my thoughts! Until coming across this essence, the only other ones i was aware of were typically VERY expensive Korean brands so i was stoked to see one from a cruelty free company that was also vegan. Some of the product benefits Juice Beauty boasts: Soothes skin and reduces the appearance of redness with alkylamides isolated and extracted from the Zanthoxylum fruit. •Leaves a thin veil of moisture on the skin from polysaccharides of the tamarind seed. •Reduces appearance of pores, dark spots & discoloration. •Prepares skin to absorb serum & moisturizer efficiently.
First of all i feel like we need to talk about the scent, last night i even insisted Adam smell my face so he could confirm what it smelled like. Okay, so imagine all of the green ingredients in a summery gin cocktail... mint, apple, cucumber; all things fresh and gardeny. THAT is what this smells like and it makes me want a gin drink every time i use it: morning or night (i'd just like to say that i haven't partaken in a single gin drink, however). To apply, i pour a few drops on my fingertips then apply to my skin in a sort of pressing motion in between my toner (if i use one) and serums. The handy video about the product on their site explains this is the best way to apply as well as going over exactly what an essence is. Not only am i obsessed with this based on the smell (i'm sniffing it rn), i've definitely noticed this has boosted my skin's hydration level and has my skin feeling more plump and firm and looking more bright. I wasn't anticipating falling in love with this essence and adding another step into my skincare routine but its quickly become my favorite product to apply. If you're looking into brightening products in general, this whole line has some awesome ingredients and i also enjoy the Full Strength Peel (you can literally FEEL this working) and the Age Defy Moisturizer. A lot of skincare products might find their way into my routine briefly but needless to say, this one has become a permanent resident and i adore it!
