When your Loved one has Passed Away Please accept our sincere sympathy, when someone passes away even if the death was expected it can be a difficult and emotional time. It is important you take your time and gather your thoughts and when you and your family are ready, let us know any wishes your loved one or family have expressed for the funeral to reflect your loved one’s life. We do not put pressure on you or your family.
In 2019, The Children’s Funeral Fund for England was created by Prime Minister Theresa May. To ensure no parent or career should pay a child or baby’s funeral. This can help to pay for some of the costs of a funeral for a child under 18 or a baby stillborn after the 24th week of pregnancy. The fund is available regardless of your income or savings. These fees help towards the cost of cremation and burial fees and also for the cost of a coffin. The claim will be made directly by us the funeral director. The burial or cremation must take place in England.
Third-Party Fees Please visit our website for an extensive list.

Advice on Probate Once someone has passed away, the granting of probate is the first step in the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person, resolving all claims and distributing the deceased person’s property under a will. You will need to get the legal right to deal with their property, money and possessions (their ‘estate’). You may be able to apply for a ‘grant of representation’ – known as ‘probate’. You don’t normally need a grant if their estate has either been passed to the surviving spouse or civil partner because it was held in joint names, for example, a savings account and it does not include land, property or shares. For further information please visit www.gov.uk/wills-probateinheritance For all new graves, or graves that are re-opened that do not have a memorial, our stonemason will send you our memorial brochure along with a price list after a month, unless you instruct us otherwise. We are happy to discuss all memorial matters you may have but there is also information on our website at www. jacksonbrowningfunerals.co.uk

Funeral Plans We are proud to have teamed up with Golden Charter to bring you The Independent Way Funeral Plan. It is not a set package, but a tailormade plan to ensure your needs and wishes are met after you have passed away. This means you do not pay for something you don’t require. You can organise your funeral in advance with Jackson and Browning Independent Funeral Service Ltd. The Independent Way Funeral Plan is only available from independent funeral directors like us. With an Independent Way Funeral Plan you can choose how you wish to pay for your plan. Depending on how you pay, your money is held securely and either paid to the Golden Charter Trust, which is completely independent of Golden Charter and run by a board of trustees, or a UK-based life assurance company. We can guarantee the funeral director services included in your plan will be covered at the time they are required.
46056 Jackson Browning Funeral Brochure 214x299mm.indd 11
Third party costs are costs for essential services such as burial fees, cremation fees, plus minister or officiant fees. There is a contribution towards these costs included in your plan, which will grow over time. Only if the third party costs were to increase by more than the growth of your plan might there be more to pay for these at the time of the funeral. Golden Charter is the only funeral plan provider recommended by the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), which was established in 1989 to serve the interests and needs of independent funeral directors nationwide. Golden Charter is also a ‘Registered Provider’ of the Funeral Planning Authority, which aims to ensure its providers are delivering for their customers.
