Based on Ramshill Road in South Cliff area we work hard to serve the local people using our years of knowledge and experience. Kevin has 20 years professional experience directing funerals and being a funeral manager. We are proud of our independent business model and as a result our families satisfaction is our focus, not shareholders nor any corporate interests. That way the client knows exactly what the overall costs are at the outset and are not shocked when suddenly fees are added to the funeral costs for Cremation or Doctors fees. This gives clear costs to clients when making the decision which Funeral Directors services they choose to use. As a truly ‘Independent’ family business we can offer greater flexibility of choices without the constraints of Management edicts, dictating what we can and cannot offer. Our only concern is YOU our client NOT shareholders etc. We were delighted, following inspection and compliance visit to be accepted into membership of SAIF (Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors). This further demonstrates our ability to meet high standards of care and professional operating methods as accredited by an Independent assessor. We have the same care facilities as a modern hospital does for your loved ones and we are proud to serve our community. Through SAIF we can now offer our families a free bereavement counselling service (SAIF Care) should they wish to utilise this.

At Kevin Moxon Funerals we take the welfare of our teams & the families we look after very seriously. With the situation re: Covid-19 we want to ask families to make funeral arrangements by Phone, Email, Post, or Video call. We can see you in office but limit to 2 persons please. Other restrictions may apply – ask us.
Given ever increasing funeral costs it makes sense to plan ahead and many people are now realising the benefit of having a pre paid funeral plan. Not only does this offer peace of mind to you and family on a financial level but for those left dealing with a bereavement you can leave your personal instructions on the type of funeral you want. This can include Religious services, Hymns, Music etc and takes pressure and worry off your loved ones at the time of bereavement.
Latest Restrictions on Funerals z As of 6th July 2020 Woodlands Crematorium are allowing up to a maximum of 20 mourners at a service. z Social distancing and hygiene measures to be adhered to. z For safety of our staff and Woodlands Coffin is not to be touched by Mourners. Staff have to use wheels to convey Coffin in to the Chapel for service.

We offer Pre Paid Funeral Plans through ‘Golden Charter’ and will be happy to explain them to you further, either in our office, or at your home. If you have an existing pre paid plan it may be you want to nominate us as your preferred Funeral Directors for future. if you require any help please contact us. Our plans can be paid by instalments and are one of the most competitively priced plans on the market. Most people ask “where does the money go to?” All monies for funeral plans are normally held by a trust fund managed by companies separate to the Funeral Director and guarantee to pay the costs of your funeral to the chosen Funeral Director when the need arises. We now exclusively offer all our clients a FREE WILL REVIEW service with our Partners at Apex Wills & Trusts. Don’t get caught out ! Make sure your Will is current, up to date & Valid. We cover Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington but serve the Yorkshire Region and have conducted services for families in Selby and York area when requested. Our premises were designed by Kevin to provide excellent client facilities. These include two Private Chapels of Rest or Rest Rooms and a Private Arranging room off main reception. The colour scheme was chosen by Kevin to give a more modern feel for clients. ‘Caring for your family as our Own’ WE ‘Put you at the centre of all we do’.
‘Legacy’ Lasting Keepsakes & Jewellery We can now offer clients a service with our partners at legacy life expressions to provide a unique keepsake or piece of jewellery containing the fingerprint of your loved one. If you wish to use the service we use a hand held scanner to digitally capture your loved ones fingerprint and this then is stored electronically and can be used at anytime to create a unique piece of jewellery , such as a necklace or ring or etched onto a glass ornament. Once a fingerprint is obtained any items can be ordered at anytime now or in the future and offers a unique means to remember your loved one.
Fair Funeral Pledge We have signed up to the ‘Fair Funeral’ Pledge. We are members of SAIF (National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors) and Kevin is also a Member of BIFD (British Institute of Funeral Directors). We are passionate about reducing Funeral Poverty and are here to help and serve those in need at a time of Bereavement. We proudly offer ‘affordable funerals’ for all our clients. Like most funeral directors do we ask for an ‘Advanced Payment’ to cover what we pay on your behalf before the funeral takes place. We are able to offer help and advice regards funding available to clients to help with funeral expenses and how to access them.
Bereavement After Care As part of our ongoing care for you we offer ‘SAIF Care’ a free and confidential Bereavement Counselling Service for our families and we can offer help and advice from specialists in relation to Wills & Probate, Financial planning following a bereavement if required. If you need any information on any or all these services please inform us so we can assist with any help needed.
Memorial Masonry We will be happy to discuss your requirements for memorial masonry and headstone. We can offer anything from a Cremation Tablet to full size memorials. We supply estimates and advice freely. Our funerals start at £1275.00 for an Unattended or Direct Cremation Service. With our partners at Funeralzone we offer every family a Free online Obituary service and Funeral Planner. The Obituary will contain details of deceased and service times and location and links to Google maps for those travelling from afar. Once set up family and friends can decide its content but can put messages and photos on the site and light a candle in memory. The site is also ideal for setting up donations for charities and allows donations on line, including gift aid for those eligible, direct to your chosen charity and keeps a total of all donations. We can see you in our offices , where we have a private arranging room, or we can meet you at your home or suitable location convenient to you. As a truly ‘ethical’ and community based business we like giving back into the community we are privileged to serve. Our funeral home can be found on Ramshill Road near St Andrews Church. SAIF Care for our Clients SAIF Care provides a range of services to bereaved people, over the age of 18, including: A freephone telephone helpline 0800 917 7224 Email support and information help@saifcare.org.uk Up to six free sessions of supportive counselling by telephone, Skype or face to face in your local area. SAIF Care services are offered by friendly staff who are trained in counselling and bereavement skills and who will be able to listen and support you. SAIF Care Associate Counsellors are highly skilled and qualified. They will be able to help you to understand your experience of grief, develop self-care, coping strategies and support you to deal with the challenges you may be facing. SAIF Care services are available Monday– Friday, from 9am–9pm, SAIF Care is confidential and free of charge to people who have used our services at Kevin Moxon Independent Funeral Directors.
