Malmรถ 2019 15th National Session of EYP Sweden
Dear Potential Applicant, Tolerance - a word originating from late middle English (circa 1430) denoting the action of bearing hardship, or the ability to bear pain and hardship. Whilst in its simplest of definition, tolerance speaks of surviving pain, yet it is silent of the pains’ purpose. Why should we bear pain and hardships, what is ultimate purpose of it all? For us it is hope, a hope for a brighter future, a hope for common understanding, or simply hope that we can continue to fully express our opinions. With Malmö 2019, you could have a chance to explore your own purpose for tolerance, tackle one topic concerning the future of Europe and start sowing the seeds of hope. Bring your version of tolerance visible for the ones participating in the session, but most importantly become empowered to realise what it all means to you. Outside of the session theme, the vision of the Board is to facilitate a borderless exchange of knowledge, a session where everyone is given to tools and opportunities to tackle exactly the things they feel like tackling as a chair. Self-awareness and personalized approach will go hand in hand in Malmö 2019. Lastly, as a general theme for the session, it is our goal to bring down the barriers and bubble surrounding EYP and trying to tap into our everyday creativity in reconceptualising methods and techniques that could be beneficial for our work as a Chairs’ Team. However additionally, instead of only focusing on our skills as a human resource for the session, we aim to bring the people attending to a more central light. Instead of simply focusing on the current session, the aim is to establish a more wholesome experience, by linking the session participation with a more thought-through personal development. Best of luck with your application,
Waltter Roslin, Laura Joël, Sara Huseby and Weronika Betta The Board of Malmö 2019 2

Such freedom, however, will have two limitations that will have to be met, for the project idea to be approved. On one hand it will be stressed out for the MTMs to develop projects within their clusters, bearing in mind their necessary correlation to both the session theme and its connection to either the session participants, EYP in general or the external audience. On the other hand, a project idea would have to be backed up by a purpose that it holds. A MTM presenting their idea would therefore have to indicate their motive and aim to conduct a certain project, as well as try to choose the best potential platform for it. In this way, we want to believe, the Media Team’s output will be coherent and theme-related, but also hold a certain value and significance. To put it simply, our goal would be to empower our Media Team Members to explore their creative insights and to produce high quality, meaningful output.
Dear Potential Applicant, The fact you are reading this vision, finds us very excited and flattered, and we hope it will prove useful and make you interested in applying and hopefully join us in Malmö. We will do our best to present our idea for the Media Team by outlining the main pillars of our vision. Theme-Oriented Purposeful Content The theme of the event is something we want to drive our vision, rather than something for which the vision would be adapted. As Heads of Media, one of our main tasks will be to create the thematic boundaries within which we will operate, and so “Tolerance - The Key to Reconciliation and Prosperity” is a great starting point from which to create these boundaries. Hence, when we think about “academic” content at the session, we think about connecting the session topics and its participants to a larger idea, and hopefully, to a larger audience.
Media Team Structure
It is only natural, then, that we have the city of Malmö as one of the key cogs to our media output engine. Malmö is not only Sweden’s door to the rest of Europe, but also a culturally vibrant and diverse centre, which presents us with an incredible range of content for our output. We want the citizens of Malmö to be part of our content (if they are willing, of course), as we will try to bring to life the theme of the session through their words and eyes. As the theme focuses on tolerance, diversity and the potential advantages they have for a society, we want to to structure our content in clusters focused on these different audiences - the session itself, the EYP community, and the exterior, with particular emphasis on the people of Malmö. We hope that this strategy covers the theme properly, and makes content a lot more purposeful, by considering not only the quality of the content, but also the means of communication by which it is transmitted, and ultimately its utility to a particular audience.
As mentioned above, the Media Team Members in our team will be supported by the Heads of Media, not the Editors. The reason for this change is our vision of our roles within the Media Team. What we want to focus on as Heads of Media will be team leadership, targeted on individual personal development of each of team members, and management, oriented at endorsing our envisioned structure of the Media Team for you to fill in with your creative ideas. At the same time, we fully realise the importance of technical support within a Media Team. For this reason, we are looking for eager and passionate individuals who would join us in the Media Leadership by a Head of Videography and a Head of Photography and Design. Their role within the team will be more oriented towards developing our Media Team Members technical skills and ensuring high quality output. We are looking forward to hopefully reading your application!
Organised Creative Freedom & Collective Ownership First of all, it must noted our team will be a Media Team in its full sense - it will purposefully not consist of Journalists or Editors, but of Media Team Members and Heads of Media. Throughout our work we will aim to stress out the fundamental difference such change creates - the emphasis of our work and output will be placed on our Team’s creative freedom and the diversity of chosen platforms to express themselves, which we consider the core elements of our vision for our Media Team’s output.

Dear Potential Applicant, I am looking for a team that understands the need for both professionalism and relaxation. My vision for the Jury is to have a team with a relaxed and approachable attitude towards the delegates during the session, as well as being hard working and objective. As far as experience is concerned, I am not particularly looking for people who have taken up this role before; I am looking for people that are enthusiastic, committed, and have their own perspective to bring to the team. As we are going to be fairly free concerning the way in which we work, I also wish for Jury Members that are dedicated enough to work on the structure of the selection, within the parameters agreed upon with the National Committee, before the session starts. We are in a unique position to find the best structure for our team, as there is plenty of time ahead of us. At many sessions, I have seen the Jury Team considered as “outsiders” and not truly a part of the Officials’ Team, especially considering, compared to the other three teams, our role and the distance in relation to the delegates at the session. I do not wish for this to be the case when it comes to this team. We are all part of the session, and we should all strive for the success of the whole event, and the happiness of all its participants, and I strongly believe that the Jury at this session can greatly contribute to this vision. I hope to be able to, together with my team, ensure that this session has an objective and appropriate selection, that we can be an active and present part of the Officials’ Team, and that we shall actively contribute to the session’s positive and friendly environment.
