Tokyo’s Harajuku and Ginza Districts
Asakusa
Tokyo Skytree With a height of 2,100 ft, Tokyo Skytree is the world's highest stand-alone communication tower. Enjoy VIP access to the tower’s observation deck for 360 degree panoramic views across the entire Kanto region.
Along with tree lined parks and shrines, Harajuku is a center for youth fashion and culture. Ginza is home to some of the most expensive real estate on our planet. This part of Tokyo is the quintessential, high-end shopping mecca, comparable to Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles or Fifth Avenue in New York.
Arriving in Asakusa by a water taxi allows us to enjoy views of Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree. The Asakusa district is the old Edo district, best known for the Sensoji Temple: the oldest and best known temple of Tokyo.
Nada Sake Brewery Museum
Todaiji & Nara Daibutsu
The district of Nada in Kobe City boasts fine quality (shrine) water, perfect for brewing sake. Here, we will learn about the history and brewing of sake before seeing brewery equipment of the past. Complimentary sake tasting is included!
Inside Todaiji Temple is Nara Daibutsu, Japan’s largest bronze Buddha statue standing 14.98 meters tall.
Covered in gold foil and originally built in 1397, the Golden Pavilion was a country chateau for Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, later named Rokuonji and converted into a Buddhist temple.
Dotonbori
Gion
Miho Museum
Gion was a red light district during the Edo period where Geisha entertainment originated. The art of Geishas entertaining guests in traditional tea houses still exists in this area. If we are lucky, we might catch a glimpse of a geisha.
Osaka is reputed as “the kitchen of Japan” with Dotonbori as its culinary center. The area has the highest concentration of restaurants and stands serving Japanese delicacies.
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
Designed by famed Chinese architect I.M. Pei, designer of the Louvre Reception Hall in Paris, the museum is an architectural wonder, with over two thousand pieces of Asian and Western antiques.
Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion)
