The 1st things I was thinking about when I got this brief was: graffiti, pollution, people and drugs on the street. So my first idea for the brief was to make a short clip or poster with my own graffiti work about the area I live in or the city I live in. But as the brief went on I started to think about the way people think about the street the culture and history around it. So to start this off I was looking at Leeds as it was a easy place for me to take pictures and find information about because it’s where I live. The 1st place I went was the local library and started to look at some books about Leeds and try find some images and information that I could relate to and make an visual piece. Also I started to ask people what culture meant to them, but I wanted to stick to a certain age group. So I went with 18-30 and didn’t ask the same ethnic cultured people. As I went round I started to get the same answer from people; “culture is about your religion” but there was only one person that said something to me that got me thinking about the work culture. He said “ culture isn’t about your religion it’s about the way you have been brought up, the people you are with and your surroundings are what makes you.”

So I started to look at the way the street has changed over the years, how and what children or adults do in the streets now from what it was 20 years ago. From this I new what information I was looking for, but the only thing I didn’t know was how to show what I was saying? So I started to look at some film makers and photographers. One of the things I seen was people holding an old image and placing it arms length over the front on the camera showing the old and new in one image. However this was a good idea but I could find a way to use this to show was I was looking for. So from this I had started to take out a camera and take some images around Leeds and some images I took from book I had found from Leeds. I started to think about making a small clip of my of my journey around different parts off Leeds, using old and new images of what I have found and taken and have a voice over of what people think have changed over the years in the areas and for the older people to talk about what they did as a child.

abin of curiosity

C

I used religion for the curiosiy’s for the fact that all relgions mean different things and have many meaning but all link together. I did research on how many religions there are and which are popular. From this I found out that there was more then 8 main religions used around the world so used this to find an image that could easily be recognised for this religion. I didn’t want to make it all about reigion because the research I found showed more then 50% in the wold don’t have a faith so I wanted to use celebrates that younger children look up to and want to be like.

Once I found the images I waned to show the work in a typography piece so I stared to look for different quotations of religion and famous quotes and add them into one prices and have the image making them quotes or the image overlaying them. I stared the mass with Photoshop and found if I did a clipping mask over an image that has colour I found make the write from under make the image with them colours.

E ARTH ARTEFACTS This was a brief where I had made a short clip showing what the wold is like. I used timeplaes to speed different parts up, like sun sets and busy towns. we had to show this clip to someone that was for out of space or for the future. So as the clip was going on I added some information abut the world and the way we live.
