Hi! My name is Petey and I am a 14-year-old Bassedor (Basset Hound and Labrador Retriever). I need some extra love and care that my elderly mom could not provide. I am working on putting on some weight and loving every bite! I get along with other dogs but should be fed separately because I am so food motivated. I am very energetic for being an old man so don't let my age fool you! I love to be by your side getting lots of pets and attention. I am also pretty healthy for my age and have more life to live! I would probably do best in a home with children over 12 and someone who is home often to let me out to potty. An older guy like me just can't hold it like I used to. Can you relate? Please consider me even if I am older, we seniors really are the best! If you are interested in hearing more, please fill out an application at www.rescueconnectnc.com or call RescueConnect at 910-302-7290.

I am sponsored by Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar in Carolina Beach and in loving memory of Bess and beach dogs everywhere.

My name is Squirrel and I’m pictured on the left. I am a 6-month-old teenage boy kitty. I am shy, but sweet once I’m in your arms. I am like a squirrel and I dart really fast around the house, in and out from behind furniture and across the room just like a squirrel. Loud noises and too much activity scare me and I will hide. I LOVE a cat tower and will play on it right in front of you and be so cute and adorable. I love cats and quiet, lazy dogs and canned food! If you like to watch squirrels in your back yard, here’s your chance to have one inside to watch its antics all day long. Meet me at PetSense in Leland or call Jill at 910-620-3783. I am here with my brother, Simon, who I’d really love to be adopted with. He is outgoing and friendly and will help me in my new home. If you adopt me, my foster mom will send me to my new home with my very own cat tree. For info, updates and upcoming adoption events, visit us online at www.facebook.com/adoptanangelnc.

We are sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies and daddies who care for homeless animals.

THE UNFORGOTTEN SOULS

Are you looking for a perfectly polite snuggle bug to be your bestie? My name is Cammie and I’m an absolute doll baby. I am house-trained, great with other dog pals, great with kids, and an absolute snuggle bug. At just 2-years of age, I’m a polite pup who is 45 pounds, fully vetted and spayed. I’m a bundle of joy who thinks belly rubs are a serious business. I’m well-mannered, great on car rides, an expert at greeting pals with a wagging tail, and my goofy antics are guaranteed to turn any frown upside down. Visit us at www.theunforgottensouls.com and click on ‘Adopt’ or email theunforgottensouls@gmail.com for more info. To check out hilarious videos of me and to see our other adoptable pets, all you have to do is visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/unforgottensoulsrescue. ♥

FRIENDS OF FELINES

I’m Pumpkin Love and I’m a gentle, 10-month-old orange Tabby kitten who is ready to find a forever home. With my soft, pumpkin-colored fur and big, curious eyes, you will fall in love! I enjoy quiet, cozy spaces where I can feel safe. I’m a Lap Kitten and love to cuddle when you pick me up for love. I’m going to be a big boy! I get along well with other cats and would thrive in a calm, loving home. My gentle nature makes me a great companion, especially if you’re looking for a sweet and loyal friend to share quiet moments with. I’m ready to give you warmth and cuddles! RESCUECONNECT

I am Little Petey and I am a 10-month-old Beagle mix who is learning to trust. I bonded quickly with my caregiver, but I am initially fearful of new people. With patience and time, I learn to love new people in my life! I am excellent with other dogs and cats, house-trained, good on a leash, quiet, and can be handled at the vet. I need a quiet home ideally with no children and with a dog companion who can help me learn how to trust humans. Will you give me a chance? With time and understanding, I will become your loyal, playful companion! If you are interested, fill out an application at www.rescueconnectnc.com or call 910-302-7290. ♥

HAMILTON’S HEALING HEARTS

Are you looking for a companion who’s not too small and not too big? Well, that’s me! My name is Shawna and I’m just right…right for you that is! I came all the way to NC from Louisiana (where I had run out of time at a county shelter). I was tested with other dogs and I passed. I adore everyone I meet and I’m heartworm free. I visited the dogtor where I was spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. I have a stunning coat of colors and can’t wait to show you my loving soul. If you would like more info or would like to adopt me, call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

My name is Theo and I’m a Miniature Pinscher / Chihuahua mix. I’m around 1-year-old and was one of 40 dogs who had been dumped in the woods in Onslow County. I’m starting to come out of my shell since I’ve been in a foster home. I do well with dogs and cats but would prefer a quiet home as I’m still getting used to what life is like not surviving in the woods. If you would like info or to adopt me, call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

My name is Spice and I’m a 3-year-old dilute Tortie who does well with other cats and quiet dogs! I’m a chunky monkey who loves my blanket to sleep on. I have already been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and I’m current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If you would like more information or would like to adopt me, please call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

COLUMBUS HUMANE SOCIETY

My name is Oreo and I’m a 9-month-old tuxedo girl with almost perfect markings. I’m great with other cats and get along great with Trixie (who is also available for adoption). I am small and very playful, I’m friendly and sweet, I have all my shots and have been spayed. I’ll make a great house companion as I use the scratching post and litterbox faithfully. Who doesn’t love that? I’ve never seen a dog before but I’d probably be good with older kids. Please call my foster mom, Laura, at 224-805-2825. ♥

A SHELTER FRIEND

Looking for a Walking Buddy?

I am Midnight, a super-sweet and calm Labradorable mix who is always up for a nice stroll. Let's explore the neighborhood together! I'm a toy enthusiast, especially squeaky ones, but guess what my favorite thing is? Giving kisses to my person! Don’t you wish that was you? At 7-years of age, the puppy hijinks are behind me but I'm ready for adventure and fun by your side. I'm spayed, vaccinated, and on heartworm preventative, so I'm ready to move in! Call or text Sean 910-918-5118 or Silvia 910-876-0539 to learn more about me and how we can meet. ♥

RUFFIAN FOUNDATION

Ahoy! My name is Captain Ash

I am a grey and white tuxedo boy with a lot of purr-sonality. I am 5-years-old and would like a home of my own. My first owners declawed me so I must only be indoors. I tend to boss around other cats and would like to be the only one, but I can adjust if you're patient. I am neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Call Sharon or Barb from The Ruffian Foundation at 910-262-8890 or 910-619-7198 and let’s arrange a day to meet! ♥

CAROLINA ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY

My name is Panther and I’m about 2-years-old. I was found outside a local restaurant where I had been begging for food. My ear had already been tipped before I came to Carolina Animal Protection Society. That meant I had been neutered so I got updated vaccinations and went into a foster home. It’s so much nicer than surviving on the streets. I’ve adjusted well and even though I’m a little shy with strangers, I’m very sweet once we get to know each other. I have not been around small children or dogs in my foster home. For information, please email capsrescue@yahoo.com, call 910-455-9682, or visit www.capsrescue.com. ♥

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT

I’m a sweet Pit Bull fella named Gomez who was found abandoned on the side of the road. Starving and injured, a good Samaritan took me to a local shelter for help. Knowing I needed more than the shelter could provide, the good Samaritan reached out to CARE to see if they could help. Now, I’m thriving! I am super loving and playful. My injury, a dislocated hip, is healing and I am anxious to get to normal activities. Unfortunately, full activity will have to wait until I’ve also been treated for heartworms. I will do well in a home with people and dogs to play and snuggle with. To meet me or learn more, email carewilmington@yahoo.com or call

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

Hi, my name is Biscuit, and I’m one of five dogs in the Monty’s Home prison training program. I’ve had a rough life - I lost half of my ear and I have scars on my face but I’m doing much better now! I’m a 2-year-old Walker Hound boy who is gentle and sweet and will make a wonderful family member if just given the chance. I have been in training since the beginning of January and will graduate at the end of February. I would love to have a forever home waiting for me! Please fill out an application on our website at www.montyshome.org or contact our adoption coordinator, Gail, for info at 732-693-8462 or adopt@montyshome.org. ♥

OPERATION TOPCAT

My name is Martini and I’m a gorgeous 3-year-old girl who was part of a hoarding case. I'm a sweet girl who absolutely loves getting pets and attention. I'm a very calm cat with a great personality. I was diagnosed with a soft heart murmur and an echocardiogram of the heart was performed. Mild changes to my heart were identified, but no treatment is recommended at this time. My new family should be on board with following up in 6-months for a recheck, which will include repeating the echo. I expect to have a great quality of life for many years, but you should be on board to provide necessary follow up for my heart. Please let there be a special someone out there who can provide a loving home. Visit www.operationtopcatnc.org and submit an application. You may also call 910-545-9885 or email otopcatnc@gmail.com for more information. ♥

▲I’ve been at the shelter since October 2024! I’m a fun and friendly girl, 2 to 3-years-old and already spayed. I’m active but also a cuddle bug with whomever stops by to say hello. I am known to toss my toys in the air, then expertly catch them. I’ll also run around with toys in my mouth, squeaking them happily. I have been to doggy daycare and did fine there, too! My ID number is A493880. Please come see what a great girl I am! ♥

◄Hi, friends! My name is Kuuba (A497312) and I’m a 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who lost my home when my owner joined the military. He asked me to tell you that I have been great with other dogs and I have been around cats, however, I’ve not been tested with cats at the shelter. I’ve been one amazing boy with everyone, I’m very food motivated, very friendly, very playful and very loving. If you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them with you for a meet and greet with me. See you soon! ♥

◄I’m a beautiful and affectionate girl, all black in color, and I came into the shelter as a stray. My new friends say it’s so surprising that a loving girl like me is all alone. I love to be rubbed, I love receiving attention and I will be an adored companion to the person or family lucky enough to adopt me. My ID number is A498137 and I’m 1-year-old. ♥

►I’m a stunner with these mesmerizing ice-blue eyes! At 3-years of age, I’m a Coonhound mix girl who loves women (I’m good with men, I just seem to prefer ladies) and I’d also be happiest in a home that has another dog (but no small kids). Bring your dog with you when you come visit, ok? My ID # is A498008. ♥

◄If you’re on the search for a friendly and affectionate cat who will keep you feeling happy and loved, I’m your boy! I don’t yet have a name, so currently I’m known as ID number A498133 I was found as a stray and have been one talkative fellow. I enjoy cat nip and dental treats of all flavors. Overall, I’ve been one laid-back sweetheart with everyone here at the shelter. I’m 1-year-old, black in color, and I’m ready to live the good life with you! Come and visit me soon. ♥

◄My name is Baba (A497930) and I’m a black and white girl who is 5-years-old. I came into the shelter with my best friend Soho, who is pictured below. We were adopted together as kittens and have always lived together so it would be very nice if we could be adopted as a duo, but we understand if we can’t. I LOVE cat nip and cat nip filled toys. I’m very sweet and gentle and am eagerly looking forward to being part of a family again! ♥

►I am just the sweetest boy! (And handsome, too, from what I’ve heard.) At 1-year-old, I’m a Lab mix who has been such a snuggle bug with all the shelter staff, but I do have my play time moments as well.

I’m very food motivated and I’ve been really gentle when taking treats out of people’s hands. I am neutered, microchipped, on flea prevention, and up to date on vaccines. My ID number is A497884. Come on over to meet me - you’ll be delighted by my personality! ♥

◄My name is Soho (A497929) and I’m new to the shelter which makes me want to hide under my blanket. But just talk to me and I’ll come out for attention and petting. I came to the shelter with my best buddy Baba, who is pictured up above. We have been together since we were kittens, so we’d love to be adopted as a twosome, but we understand if we are adopted separately. I’m a very sweet and loving girl, just a little shy about my new surroundings. At 5-years-old, I’m ready to be back inside a home! ♥

▲Hi! I’m a gorgeous Pit mix girl named Dutchess (A497748) and I’d love to be your newest family member! I’ve been a great dog with the shelter staff, always ready to play with toys and happy to get rubs and attention. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and am looking forward to a brand new life with you! ♥

▲I was born to be your very best friend! If you are looking for a dog who always wants to be by your side, I’m the one for you. I’m Phoenix (A479594) and I’m ready to be wherever you are and get involved with whatever you are doing. I am so sweet and eager to please. At 2-years-old, I am neutered, vaccinated and I played excellently with the others at doggy daycare. If you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them to the shelter for a meet and greet with me! ♥

◄Hi! I’m a gorgeous Redbone Coonhound named Hank. I’m a fun and playful pup, just a little over 1-year-old. I was found as a stray and would thrive in an active household. I’m good with kids and good with other dogs, and I am already neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. I’m microchipped, too! I’m looking for a loving family with a fenced-in yard. I will be a fantastic companion! ♥

◄I love to be held and loved, but look at me sitting all alone in my photo. I need you to pick me up and give me cuddles! My name is Olivia and I’m an 8-month-old kitten girl who is as sweet as they come. I play well with toys and other kittens and am spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Come on over and allow me to melt your heart with my darling personality and cuddly nature! ♥

◄Get Your Lab Love Right Here! My name is Aster and I'm a 1-yearold Yellow Lab mix girl, as sweet as can be. I’m your typically happy pup, but I’m a survivor, too! Yep, I somehow ingested rat poison before coming to the shelter. Luckily, my new friends got me emergency care and I made a full recovery! Now I am just enjoying life and waiting for my new family to walk through the door. I love to play with other dogs and kids, I enjoy going for walks, and I have a lot of fun with toys. I am also spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Come see what a great girl I am! ♥

◄My name is Piper and I’m looking for a cat lover who understands that some kitties need a little more time to get comfortable. Are you that patient, kind person I’m looking for? I’ve been at the shelter for over a year and just want to be part of a loving, quiet household. At almost 2-years-old, I’m spayed, up to date on vaccinations and litterbox-trained. Won’t you give me a chance? Let’s meet soon. ♥

►Terrific Tabby Alert! Hi everyone, I’m sweet Cora, a 2-year-old Tabby girl who loves cuddling with humans! I also enjoy playing with toys and would totally entertain you with my antics in our home. ◄Do you hear me knocking on this door? If only I could reach the doorknob and head straight into your arms! My name is Morris and I’m an entertaining boy with personality plus. I tick all the boxes: I’m very affectionate, happy, curious, playful, loving, friendly…the list goes on and on! I am also up to date on shots, neutered and litterbox-trained. At 1-year-old, I’m an Orange Tabby who is ready to fill your life with love! ♥

Jackie Houser Attorney at Law

“All you need is love...and a good attorney. Call Jackie!” ~Sophie Flexner Houser Injury Law 3805 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403 Phone: 910-794-3221 www.getflexner.com

My name is Party Girl and I was rescued out of a dumpster! Can you even believe someone as beautiful as me had to live that way? Thank goodness FURR pulled me out and gave me new hope for a better life! I am so sweet and my fur is fluffy soft. I am a laid-back kitten and I get along with everyone. I should probably be on someone's Valentine’s list this year! Please come meet me at FURR and fall in love! For more info or to adopt me, text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or send an email to adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

Hi everybody, I’m Max, a Jack Russell Terrier mix! At just 1-year-old and 19 pounds, I’m happy, silly and full of energy! I am very friendly with everyone and I love to play fetch. I show off my impressive zoomies and I love all the attention. I sit nicely for my treats, as you can see from my photo, and I will be a fast learner in your home. I am neutered and vaccinated, too. Let’s get to know each other at the New Hanover Humane Society. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm, and you can also call 910-763-6692 with any questions. And if you have another dog at home, please bring them with you for a meet-and-greet.

I am sponsored by Jackie Houser of Flexner Houser Injury Law because she can’t adopt us all!

◄My name is Odie and I’m a big, docile sweetie who loves pets. I can be a little shy and skittish at first, but once I warm up, I will come right up to you when you walk in the room and chat you up with my high-pitched meows. I love playing with toys, especially my favorite mousie, but I really enjoy relaxing, too. I get along with people and calm, older kids. I’d do best in a quieter home, as an only pet or with other friendly and calmer cats. I haven’t met a dog, but as long as they are calmer, I think I’d be fine since I’m pretty chill. I am 5-years-old and FIV+. Just so you know, cats with FIV live long healthy lives, just a little more prone to some infections. It’s not easy to transmit FIV, so FIV and non-FIV cats can live together. Message for a meet up. ♥

◄My name is Lester T and I am an old soul inside a young body. I am 2-years-old and love to chill out, but sometimes I can’t get enough of my fishing pole. That little white area on my nose is the perfect “boop” spot, and it makes my foster happy so I’m ok with it. I enjoy getting pets all over and scratches on my cheek. I will snuggle right into your lap once I know you. With a proper introduction, I get along with other cats. I am FIV+, but it’s not affecting my health at this time. FIV is not cat HIV, and I have a normal life expectancy and can be around non-FIV cats. Message us today if you're interested in hanging out and getting to know me. ♥

Adoption Fairs EVERY Saturday from 11am - 3pm at Pet Supplies Plus in Porters Neck (134 Hays Lane)

►Hi, my name is Amber Rose!

◄Hi, I’m Blue Eyes, a 5-year-old gorgeous Tabby, if I do say so myself. Not only am I sweet and loving, but I get along with other cats and would be ok with dogs (with enough time and patience for introductions). I enjoy exploring my foster mom’s catio and laying in the warm sun looking for birds and squirrels from a safe distance. I like batting around small toys and scratching posts. I’m on a special diet to prevent crystals and love dry, wet and my special treats! More than anything else, I want a person of my very own! ♥

►My name is Ferrari I’m 8-years-old and was found outside. I’m a little shy and slow to trust because I’ve had a rough go of it lately. I was neglected and abused. When I came to All 4 Cats, I needed a full mouth extraction, so I have no teeth. I also suffered an injury where my collar was embedded in my underarm because I was on my own and got so scared and tried to get out of it. Thankfully, I am all better now and ready for a new family. Once I know I can trust you, I am a Lap Cat who just wants cuddles. I’m extremely sweet and I promise your patience will be worth it. Can you show me how to be part of a family again? I get scared at adoption events, so please message us to schedule a meeting in my foster home. ♥

I’m a beautiful 9-month-old kitten with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I'm shy at first, but once we get to know each other, I'll follow you around, constantly wanting pets and affection. I'm very loving with my people and with other cats. And did I mention that I love dogs! I'm very curious and playful, especially with my turbo scratcher. Message us or fill out an application online to meet me! ♥

►My name is Milk Dud and I am an energetic boy who’s super fun to play with. I love it when you drag a ball on a string or have a laser to chase. When I’m not playing, I love to cuddle with you or lay wherever you’re working or sitting. I may be a little shy at first, but will blossom into your best pal! I would prefer a home with no other cats. If you’re interested in adopting, reach out to set up an appointment as I do not attend adoption events. ♥

I’m Bubbles and there’s no other kitty like me. I’m the sweetest companion and the best thing since sliced bread. I have the most adorable tiny meow meow that is so sweet and I am very talkative. I am healthy, neutered, vaccinated, affectionate and cute as a bug. I promise that when you come visit me, you will love me! I'm already grateful to you for reading this. To adopt me, text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or email adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

Sponsored in loving memory of Roxy.

Looking for Love

Interviewer: Maverick, thanks for sitting down with us today! First off, you’re 11-months-old and already 70 pounds. What’s your secret to being this adorable?

Maverick: Oh, it’s all about the ears and the smooshy face, my friend. Plus, I’m always carrying around a stuffed toy for good measure - it’s my signature look. I don’t really know what to do with them yet, but they make me feel fancy.

Interviewer: Love that! Speaking of toys, we hear you’re a ball enthusiast. Care to share your favorites?

Maverick: Balls are life. Big ones, small ones, squeaky ones - I don’t discriminate. Throw it, and I’ll chase it like it’s my life’s mission. Chew toys are a close second. I like to keep my chompers busy!

Interviewer: Sounds like you’d make a great workout buddy. What’s your exercise routine?

Maverick: I love long walks, but, uh, let’s just say I have a powerful enthusiasm for exploring. My foster family says I need some training to stop pulling on the leash. Hey, I’m just trying to see the world faster!

Interviewer: You’re working on crate-training too, right?

Maverick: **sigh** Yes, the crate and I are having a complicated relationship. I’m not a fan, but my foster family is helping me get more comfortable with it. I’m a smart guy - I’ll get the hang of it eventually!

Interviewer: What’s your dream home like?

Maverick: I’d love an active family who enjoys playtime and adventures. A home with other dogs would be pawsome - I’m a big fan of canine buddies! And I don’t bark much, so I won’t disturb your peace. I just want to be around my humans as much as possible.

Interviewer: We hear you’ve got a little anxiety when your foster family leaves. What’s that about?

Maverick: Well, I’m still new here, so I get a bit worried when they’re gone. I just love my people so much! But as I settle in and feel more secure, I’m sure I’ll relax.

Interviewer: Any final words for potential adopters?

Maverick: I’m a sweet, goofy guy who loves everyone I meet. I might need a little training here and there, but I promise to repay you with loyalty, cuddles, and plenty of laughs. So, what do you say - are you ready to be my forever family?

Please help Maverick Smooshington find his forever home! If you think this loveable goofball is the perfect addition to your family, call Carolina Boxer Rescue at 910-799-5638, email carolinaboxer@gmail.com, or submit an application at www.carolinaboxerrescue.org.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Nolan, a compassionate dog lover.

◄Hi, I’m Jake, an Australian Cattle Dog mix boy who is laid-back and 13-years-old. Now, don’t let my age fool you… I will get the ZOOMIES! I am still very active for my age and I love a good breath of fresh air just as much as I love my naps. I am 33 pounds and I love to go on short walks and lounge around on the coziest couch! If you are ready to chill out and enjoy a good old fashioned movie night, I am your guy! ♥

◄Hi there, I am Stewy!

At 41 pounds, I’m your typical energetic, happygo-lucky, but sometimes scared of my own shadow, lover boy of a pup who is looking for the perfect family! I am about to celebrate my 2nd birthday this month, too! I love to play, run, jump, and all of the other things! I love people but sometimes I do get scared of loud noises, my shadow or just life but, overall, I am one happy dude! I am looking for a pretty active family who enjoys the simplicity of being outside and being at one with nature. Ya know, so I can play! If you think you are the right friend for me, do not be shy! Come say hey, because I would love to meet ya! ♥

◄Hi, I am Frisbee!

I am your new favorite 4-year-old, 38 pound Hound dog! I must admit I am a bit shy but, boy, am I a sweet guy with the biggest heart! I love being outdoors and going on walks, and I’m excited to find a sweet, loving, adventurous family to call my own! I just know that my family is out there and I think you should come visit! It may take me a second to warm up, but I really am a loveable guy, so do not let my scaredy cat tendencies detour you. You’ll see that I really am a great boy! I mean, look at me! ♥

◄Hi, I am Plum! I’m a lovely 6-year-old Hound mix girl who is a bit underweight but my friends at Paws Place are working hard to get me in good shape! I love to play and snuggle, and I’m very sweet and curious about all the things around me! I’m also pretty laid-back and am ready to enjoy relaxing evenings with you in front of the TV! Won’t you please visit me soon? ♥

◄Hi there! I'm “Big Fluffy Hugs” (but you can just call me Oso)! At 3-years-old, I’m a Great Pyrenees mix boy weighing in at a solid 71 pounds of love and fluff. I’m heartworm positive, but don’t worry - I'm getting the treatment I need and I’m staying strong through it all. I know how to sit and I’ve perfected the art of giving the best bear hugs - just ask anyone who’s met me. I’m a big, soft guy with a gentle heart, but I sometimes forget how large I am so I would prefer a home with children over 16 and a fenced yard would be great, too! I’m looking for a forever friend who’s ready to help me finish my treatment and give me a lifetime of love. ♥

◄Hi friends! Its me, Mocha! How are ya!? I am ok...it’s almost my 2nd birthday so I must share my birthday wish with you all: I wish I would find my forever family! A family with only grown ups, please, because sometimes I forget that I’m not the size of a new born puppy. I like to play and sometimes forget how to play carefully. I don’t mean to, I just get so excited! I also wish for a fenced in yard and a home full of love. So if you are looking for a goofy, brown, mixed-breed girl who is a free spirit and full of life, I am the one for you! Do not be shy! ♥

ADOPT: All of our cats are anxiously waiting to be adopted! Whether you want a mellow Lap Cat or a bundle of energy, we will help you choose the cat who is right for you!

CRAPPIE

My name is Crappie, just like the fish. I have had a crappy life, though, that is until I was saved from the torn down Atlantic Seafood place. Life was pretty rough but I have come a LONG way! I desperately need love. I am partially blind, but my heart is whole. I am a tiny girl and FURR has already paid for dental surgery for me. I had several teeth pulled and I feel so much better now. I LOVE treats and I do a silent meow when asking for them. I get along great with other cats, but sometimes they pick on me. If you want a kitty to care for who will return your love ten fold, please come and visit me. I'm hopeful someone will want me soon! Also, my smile looks like Grumpy Cat, which makes me even more adorable.

DONATE: Covering medical costs, pet supplies and food are every day expenses for FURR. We accept monetary and non-monetary donations which are tax-deductible to the extent of the law!

BLUE MARLIN & BLUE FISH

We’re gorgeous Russian Blue mixes named Blue Marlin and Blue Fish. We are brothers and best buddies. You won't find more beautiful, softer or sweeter felines than us! We are young adults who look like fuzzy bears. You just have to come meet us to see how special we really are. Your home would be blessed by having us join your family! Please hurry up and text Terry to set up a meet and greet. You WILL love us!!!

VOLUNTEER: There are lots of ways to help our cause, from raising awareness about spaying/neutering, to helping with fundraisers or simply volunteering time to care for the kitties!

EMMY

I’m so darn cute and I pray! Who would want a praying cat? My name is Emmy and I am the praying cat. You absolutely must watch my video on Petfinder or on the FURR website. Have you ever seen a cat pray like me? It's pretty unique and I'm praying for someone to adopt and love me. Then I'll pray for happiness ever after. I’m just the sweetest young lady with a gorgeous silky black coat. I get along with other cats but would probably be just fine as an only pet. All the FURR volunteers LOVE me! Please come visit soon and I’ll pray for you!!! LOL! For more information or to adopt me, please send a text to Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or send an email to adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

At 2-years-old, I’m a handsome chocolate/ brown/white Tabby boy named Cleveland. I have the cutest personality and silliest antics! Right before this picture was taken, I slid into the room for some chin scratches, then jumped around and landed perfectly for this shot. After the best picture ever, I flopped down and rolled over for belly rubs. I have the softest, fluffiest belly, too! I’m a really curious and social fellow. Please call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755 and ask to hear more of my life story. You can also send an email to catilm@earthlink.net or message my pals on Facebook @CatAdoptionTeamNC.

I am sponsored by Danny and Lisa Merritt in memory of all their fur babies waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

My name is Rizbee and I was found emaciated and deserted on the roadside. Pender County Humane Society took me in, got me to a doctor, and now I’m at a healthy weight and feeling great! At 3-years of age, I’m an affectionate Pit Bull boy who loves to lay in laps and cuddle. I am also neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Not too long ago, I completed a month-long training program that will help me thrive in my new home. Please come by the shelter to get acquainted with me and find out the skills I have obtained during my training. I’d love to meet you! And if you have any questions, please call my friends at 910-259-7022. They’ll be happy to tell you all about me.

FREEDOM GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE

My name is Bella and I was born 4/9/17 so that makes me nearly 8-years-old. I weigh around 12 pounds. Sadly, I’ve been with CRT since I was 2-years-old. I’ve spent the majority of my life in foster care. I need a home of my own to flourish and be shown the love of my own family! I love to play tug-of-war and fetch. I’m very active and I’m a total love bug. When you sit on the couch, I jump right up and snuggle up right next to you. I will nudge your hand wanting to be petted. I will sleep in the bed with you and crawl up under the covers to snuggle close. I’m also a bit of a chow hound. I’m always ready for something to eat. I am house-trained and once when my foster mom didn’t take me out soon enough, I started circling to tell her I had some business to take care of. While my foster mom is at work, I’m left in the den where pee pads are laid down (and I will go on them). I am dog aggressive and will need to be an only dog. Even on leashed walking, I react negatively to other dogs. My new home is required to have a fenced yard. Submit an application at www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ so we can schedule a meet and greet. You may also call 724-681-4715 for more information. ♥

CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE

Are you looking for a pair of All-Stars to join your home team? I’m Fenway and I’m bonded with Wrigley. We are more Beagle than Basset, but CBHR took us in because we are so darn cute. We might be named after ballparks in two very different cities, but we are a matched set if there ever was one. Where Wrigley goes, I follow and vice versa. We are great snuggle buddies and perfect pups for a family who enjoys lots of activities. We love to play with toys and our favorite game is watching our foster people pick up and put away all our toys (so we can pull them back out again). We are house-trained and like to ride in the car. We get along great with everyone we’ve met so far. Our fosters haven’t observed us around kiddos, but they feel we would do well with them. Our foster parents take us and our canine foster brothers to doggie daycare, and we love it! We come home exhausted after romping and playing with the many friends we’ve made there. If you are looking for a fine pair of Hounds, you will have won the World Series with us! We are the sweetest! If you’d like to adopt us or a homeless Basset, please call 888-909-2387 or visit us online at www.cbhr.com. ♥ ©Fur-Fetched Photography

I’m Rowlf, a beautiful, loving approximately 2-year-old, 65 pound German Shepherd who is the true definition of "man's best friend." With my gentle eyes and loyal nature, I quickly win over anyone who meets me. I already have all the best qualities that make a dog a great family member: I’m affectionate, playful, and full of heart. I am cratetrained and house-trained, however, sometimes I may have an accident inside. I need someone who is strong as I'm a very strong boy. I’m not fond of cats but I’m good with dogs with a proper introduction. I’m gentle when taking treats and will need a 4-foot fence. My foster mom has a 4-foot fence and I show no interest in hopping it - even with chickens and goats on the side. I’m a Lap Dog and will happily curl up next to you, resting my head on your lap and showering you with love. Though I’m still working on some basic commands, including leash manners, my eagerness to please and boundless potential means I’m ready to learn and grow with the right person. I’m fostered near Jacksonville, NC. If I could be a member of your family, complete an application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org and an adoption coordinator will be assigned to you. Please call 919-670-5905 or email info@freedomgsrescue.org for additional info. ♥

My name is Gracie but my foster mom calls me Gracie Lou Who or Lil' Mama. I'm a 48 pound, 5-year-old German Shepherd mix looking for my forever home. I am house-trained and crate-trained and love to snuggle. At bed time, I sleep on the bed with my foster mom and would love a forever home where I could continue to do so. I love to be petted and will lay on top of you and put my face in yours when you stop. Because my favorite place to be is with my people, I do not require a fenced in yard. While I love to play with my fur foster brother, I prefer to be the only female dog in the house. I ignore female dogs in social settings but would prefer that they not try to interact with me. I like children but think I would do best in a home with older ones because I might knock littles over. I am very food and treat motivated and will be best friends with anyone who feeds me. All of my foster mom's friends say that I'm just so sweet. If you are interested in being my lifelong cuddle buddy, complete an application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org and an adoption coordinator will be assigned to you. I am being fostered near Fayetteville. For more info, call 919-670-5905 or send an email to info@freedomgsrescue.org. ♥

My name is Ink but I like Drake better. I'm about 1-year-old and already have had some disappointments in life. First, I was picked up as a stray and my people didn't come get me. The shelter made me very nervous and sad, but I got adopted! I was sooooo happy to have my very own family again. But then, I guess I liked to wiggle butt too much and play with their little human, so they brought me back. I was a really good boy, but just a little too much for their little one and kept knocking her over. I didn't mean to - I was just playing. So I was back to not having a family again. No other adopters were interested in me and I ran out of time. Even though I didn't do anything bad, there just wasn't any more space. Luckily, FBAR sprung me out! They brought me to a cool foster home and I’m just lovin' life. I do like to play hard but I also like to nap hard. Pretty good balance, I think. My doggy doctor said I was good to go. I have no wormy things in my heart, got a microchip, got neutered and got all my shots. So now, I'm just waiting for my forever people. I love to do zoomies so a fence would be super cool. I am learning manners and I really want to be a good boy so I will try very hard. I wouldn't mind a furry sister but I'm cool if I'm the only pup in the house. Email freedombridgeanimalrescuenc@gmail.com, visit www.freedombridgeanimalrescuenc.org or call Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue, NC at 843-614-0231.

I am sponsored by Christy Lee. Thank you!

Meow! My name is Boots (short-hair) and my brother is Remi (long-hair) and we live in Wilmington, NC. We are 8-month-old male tuxedo kittens ready for adoption. We are somewhat shy but definitely bonded and love to play with toys and with each other. We are very healthy, sweet, curious and adorable. We have received updated immunizations, been neutered, dewormed, and had flea treatments. We would really prefer to be placed together in a forever home so we can have an easier transition in our new environment. Small children make us nervous but we are ok with a friendly dog. If possible, we would like to be the only felines in the home. Our foster parents can be contacted if you have any questions. Please call Diane at 606-923-4639 and Shelley at 606-232-1192. For info, updates and upcoming adoption events, visit us online at www.facebook.com/adoptanangelnc.

We are sponsored in honor of Fix a Friend Spay Neuter Clinic and all of their dedicated employees.

Hello, it’s me, Moon Dragon Lee (A473375) and I’m ready to be the fun and playful companion you’ve been dreaming of! At 2-years-old, I’m a Pit mix boy who loves all the dog toys I’ve been given at the shelter. I just can’t wait until it’s my turn to go outside and run in the play yard! I’m looking for an active family who will take me on walks around the neighborhood and trips to the park, beach or mountains. I’m ready for all the adventures! I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on flea prevention. Let’s get acquainted at New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. And don’t forget, if you have other dogs or kids at home, please bring them with you for a Meet and Greet!

I am sponsored by Fuzzy Peach (Monkey Junction). ♥ Free pup cups to any pet that visits! ♥ Fuzzy Peach loves pets.

◄My name is Beau and a nice person found me wandering on the streets. She tried to find my owners, but no one came for me. Now I have peeps helping me find my new forever home! I am a youngin' at about 1-year of age. I LOVE to play so a furry sister would be awesome! I need a little space to do my zoomies and play, so a fence is really important. I love everyone and just want someone to love me back. I am heartworm negative but I need to gain a little weight. You can foster me until I have my neuter surgery and then we can finalize my adoption. Right now, I'm hangin' with my three foster siblings and my foster Papa. I sure do love them but can't wait to find my very own home. Maybe that's you? ♥

◄Hi! My name is Bolt and it's because I used to bolt from my situation as it wasn't very nice. I'm a little guy and still really scared. My foster mama is helping me trust humans again and I'm slowly learning that you two-legged people are ok. I went to the doggy doctor and I'm really healthy. Then I went to another doggy doctor and got something called neutered. I like hanging with my furry foster sister, Yala. She's pretty cool. I'm looking for my furever home BUT I need peeps who will let me find my own way and not push me too much (‘cuz then I get really scared and hide). Another furry sibling would be awesome but it's ok if you don't have one. I won't come running to you wagging my tail and giving licks, but if you are patient with me, I'll be your bestest friend! ♥

►My name is Bert and me and my brothers were wandering around and then got picked up and put in a very noisy shelter. We were all so very scared and then we heard people talking that it was "our time". We didn't know what that meant, but it wasn't good. My brothers got some help and that left me all alone. So I was super scared until these cool peeps came and got me out! I'm with my foster parents now and even though I am still scared, I am getting better and I really love them. I do have those heartwormy things BUT the people helping me said not to worry - they were going to pay for everything for me to get better! Right now, I'm learning to be a good boy and not be so scared. I'm still pretty young, but the world hasn't been very good to me so far. I am beginning to understand that even though the world can be scary, I am going to be ok. If you're looking for a best friend, I hope it's ME! ♥

►My name's Oreo (they call me #2 because there's another Oreo, pictured below, but I'm the cutest). I'm a little guy but have a big personality - well once you know the real me. You see, I'm pretty nervous but my foster Mama is helping me not be so nervous. She told me I'm safe now and I don't need to worry anymore. I kinda believe her more and more every day. She told me I am going to get the bestest forever home and NEVER have to be scared again! I can't wait to feel that. If you can be patient with me, I PROMISE to be your very bestest friend! ♥

►Hi, my name is Wallen and I am still waiting for my furever home and I don't know why? Doesn't anyone want to give me a chance? I promise to love you! You see, I came from a not-so-good situation and that makes me sad but I LOVE my foster parents and siblings. I know I am a bully breed but I am no bully! Once I trust you, I will love you forever. And honestly, just a few treats and I'm yours! I am learning manners with a really cool guy named Jeff. He says I am a good boy. My doggie doctor said I am healthy and have no little wormy things in my heart. I'm neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention. Sometimes I get itchy skin, but my foster family gives me some medicine so it gets all better really quick. Well, enough about me - What ya think? Maybe you want to meet me? I hope so. ♥

◄My name is Oreo and I'm sweetness all rolled up into America's favorite cookie! I'm about 3-years-old and ready for my new forever home. Right now, I'm hanging out with my foster mom who I love because she always tells me I'm such a good girl and so pretty. I love doing zoomies so a place where I can run and have fun is important to me. I would love a furry brother who likes to play hard, just like me. I don't mean to sound picky, but a lady wants what a lady wants! My doggy doctor said I'm a super healthy gal and very svelte at 50 pounds. If you want a happy gal who will love you with all her heart - I'm waiting with my paws crossed. ♥

I’m Seahawk, a large neutered male kitty who is mostly white with some brown Tabby markings. I was found wandering around the UNCW campus (hence my name) and was turned in to Animal Services. No owner has come forward to claim me so I am now with Friends of Felines and available for adoption. I have lots of energy and get along well with other cats. I thrive on attention and love being in the company of people. My vibrant personality and affectionate nature make me a wonderful companion. Please email Friend of Felines at friendsofelines@aol.com or call 910-232-7741 for more information. Apply at www.friendsofelines.org/adopt and click on the Adoption Application tab.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Jane “Button” Honeycutt Spencer.

Hello, all you Shepherd lovers, I’m looking for one of you to adopt me! I’m a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix who came into the shelter as a stray. No one has claimed me though, so now I’m looking for a loving person or family with Shepherd experience to bring me home. I take correction easily, but basic obedience training would bring out my full potential. I’m very food motivated and I weigh in currently at 83 pounds. If you have another dog or kids at home, bring them with you when you visit because meet and greets are required. You’ll find me at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. My ID number is A498021

I am sponsored by the Hufstedler family in loving memory of their past loved fur babies: Ella, Rex, Misty, Buddy, Dottie and Houston.

◄I’m a gorgeous and very affectionate Husky mix boy named Houdini! At 1-year of age, I love to bury my treats and toys and I gently use my nose to cover them back up with the dirt! I love to hang out in the yard but prefer to be with people. I am already neutered and up to date on vaccines. If you have another dog, bring him or her with you when you come to visit me! ♥

◄If I’m looking a bit surprised it’s because I’m quite aware how adorable I am in this bright blue bow tie, and yet somehow I haven’t been adopted! My name is Pierre and I’m a 3-year-old Tabby boy with the most beautiful eyes and pink nose. I enjoy being with humans and prefer female cats rather than males. I am neutered, vaccinated, on flea prevention and litterbox-trained. Let’s meet! ♥

◄Hi there friends, my name is Denali and I’m a sweet, friendly girl! At 1-year-old, I’m a 37 pound German Shepherd mix. I have the cutest wiggle, I love to play fetch and I sit very nicely for treats. Just check out my photo for proof of my amazing sitting skills. I love to be hugged and loved on and will be a great best friend for some lucky person or family. If you have another dog, please bring him or her with you when you come to meet me. I’ll be so happy to get to know you! ♥

◄Hello out there, my name is Hunter! I’m a handsome 2-year-old Tabby boy who is as sweet as I am striking with my soft fur and gentle personality. I’m the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, always ready for a cozy nap or some fun playtime. I’m looking for a loving home where I can curl up with you after a long day. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, current on flea prevention and litterbox-trained. Please come over to the shelter and get to know me. I will most definitely be an affectionate and cuddly companion! ♥

The shelter is currently open Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

►If you’ve been looking for a total and complete cutie pie to share life’s ups and downs with, please look no further than me, Lucky! I’m a 14-month-old Chihuahua mix boy who weighs in at a mere 19.5 pounds. I have everything it takes to make you happy, so please come on over to the shelter and spend some time with me. ♥

◄I’m a friendly, affectionate and gentle girl named Nala and I’m ready to come home with you in my finest black and white tuxedo! I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, current on flea prevention and litterbox-trained. You’ll love me! ♥

Hi, my name is Delores and I am 1-year-old large and sassy Tabby. I am currently the longest resident cat at Onslow County Animal Services with 133 days and counting. I love most humans and most importantly all the attention I can be given. I prefer to be an only child and I love treats and wet food. I will do anything for those - like jump willingly into my condo without being forced. I love to lounge around the cat room and lay on the ground playing with toys and socializing with my humans who care for me. I am already microchipped and spayed and my adoption fee has been fully sponsored. I’m so ready to get out of here. If you are interested in me, just come on out to Onslow County Animal Services on Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 5pm or on Saturday from 10am to 3:30pm. You can also call 910-937-1164 or 910-455-0182 for more info. I'll be waiting!

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

HIYA! I am Ferris! They say I am one handsome boy. Some call me short-stack, low-rider, pint-sized, knee high to a grasshopper, and the teeny-weeny Hound dog! But don’t let the 30 pound body fool you...I have a full-sized personality! I am a very active, nervous, and loveable 4-year-old pup, and I’m looking for a kind, patient, quiet home to call my own. Because I am a little bit of a scaredy cat, I would really like a female-only home. It takes me some time to warm up to new friends. When I am not napping, they say I am pretty fast for a little guy! I love to roam and explore outside and sometimes I get the zoomies and run, run, run! This being said, I would love a place with a fenced yard if at all possible due to my shy, curious nature. I like walks but I really like to roam around and explore. Now, I may talk a big game about my D1 quality athleticism, but I am really just a very chill dude! I love sitting near a big window and watching the birds. Sometimes I even sing with them! I also enjoy laying on cozy couches and am quite fond of belly rubs. If you are looking for a pal who is active, affectionate and has the voice of an angel, pick me! It might take me a little while to warm up, but once I do, I will totally steal your heart. Come meet me at Paws Place! No appointment is necessary and the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with questions.

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

►Sometimes, people really suffer from allergies to cats. But sometimes it’s the cat that suffers when a person is allergic to cats. My name is Opie and I was very happy in the home where I’d been living for the last 2½-years, but a family member developed a cat allergy. So, I came back to Cat Tails. It only took a few days for a sweet, big, orange and white boy like me to adjust to my new surroundings, but I still miss having a home and a family. Can you help me? ♥

▲Have you ever thought that getting two kittens might be more fun than getting just one? Especially if you found a pair who really wanted to stay together. Well, now you’ve found them! We are Taz and Turbo, 4-month-old brothers who really want to stay together! And OMG, are we fun! We get wild and crazy trying to keep up with each other. When we finish playing and you finish laughing, we can curl up for a refreshing nap! ♥

◄I’m Zoey and I’m not as lucky as a lot of the other kittens at Cat Tails because I don’t have any brothers or sisters to play with! I am the last one here from my litter. One thing I have learned in my 4-months of life is that people are fun to play with so now I really want some people of my own. I need a person with a handful of toys, a pocketful of treats and a soft, warm lap for me to nap on when I’m tired! ♥

◄My name is Bing I know I look like a distinguished older gentleman with my gray hair and white moustache, but if you take me home, you’ll find that I don’t really fit that impression. After all, I’m just a 10-month-old kitten! I enjoy running, jumping, playing with toys and wrestling with my friends. I also love attention from people so if I stay next to you or run around your feet, just give me a scratch on the head and I’ll go back to my toys. ♥

▲My name is Eddy and I was lost. Fortunately, two men saw me and thought I looked skinny and cold, so they took me inside while they looked for my owner. They thought they had located my owner, so they loaded me in a mesh gym bag, since they didn’t have a cat carrier, and set off to Cat Tails. Well, the person they located was not my owner. Now, I’m staying in a foster home and looking for a new home, one where the people won’t let me outside to wander and get lost! ♥

If you would like more information, please text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or send an email to adoptafurrcat@gmail.com

Terry is our personal assistant and she’ll be happy to answer any questions and arrange a time for us to meet.

We would be honored to award your home with love and joy!

We are so amazing, we’re really friendly and we’ve become Official Door Greeters here at FURR.

We can provide you with tons of fun every day. We enjoy play time and with lots of room to run all over the house, we will entertain you. We are silly siblings who love life. At 1½-years of age, we will be the best kitties you've ever had for many years to come. We love new challenges, chasing toys, playing with kids and talking all about it. We are fully vetted, microchipped and ready to go. Why don't you come play with us and see what we have to offer. Check out videos of us at www.catfurr.org.

◄Hello! My name is Mandy. I'm 2-years-old, and I’m spayed, dewormed and have been treated for fleas. I am a dainty, orange female which is a RARE FIND! Did you know that most orange cats are boys? I'm definitely what you'd call a "Cat's Cat". I will thrive with a companion cat (male or female). I'm submissive and will not have any behavior issues. My foster home has a submissive adult male and female and I play with both of them. So if you're looking for a companion for your cat - I'm that cat! I'm friendly, loving and affectionate and very playful at times. I might be a little shy and timid at first, but as soon as I trust you, I will make a great addition to just about any home. I’ve never been around children or dogs, so that's unknown. If you are interested, text Melinda with Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-471-6909. ♥

►My name is Poppy and I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter after having kittens. They have all been adopted and I am patiently waiting for someone to choose me. I am a sweet, friendly, playful 1-year-old. I am fine with kids and other cats, but I have not been around dogs. I am sweet and so pretty. I am also dainty and petite. If you would like more info, please call Jen at 631-260-6142 or come see me at PetSense in Leland. ♥

◄My name is Roxy. I’m 2-years of age, but my friends think I might be a little younger because I am so puppy like! I am a Rottweiler mix. My friends say I am very friendly and go up to everyone, but I’m also a little timid at first, preferring to get butt scratches until I warm up to you and become a cuddly sweetheart! I am also vocal and love to tell you about my thoughts, so I wouldn’t be a good apartment dog. I am great with people of all ages, including little kids, but prefer a home with older kids because I enjoy a calmer environment. I LOVE other dogs and my ideal home would have a playful, spunky doggy friend for me, but it is not required. I want to play with every dog including the little dogs I have met. I am okay with cats, and believe I could live peacefully in a home with a cat with a slow introduction. I am crate-trained, I walk nicely on leash and I know sit. I am working on learning other manners and tricks, too! Please come meet me at Petco in Wilmington on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm or call Jill at 910-620-3783. ♥

▲Identical Twins! I am Karma. I was rescued from an abandoned building along with my brother, Quiver. We are a bonded 5-month-old pair of beautiful classic Tabbies. We're shy at first and will need a patient home to help us feel safe. We get along well with other cats but dogs and small kids are not our favorites. Meet us at Petsense at 1215 West Gate Drive in Leland or call Sherry at 910-523-1254 to adopt. ♥

►My name is Milo and I am a 6-year-old Shepherd mix who weighs about 50 pounds. I am still a pretty jolly guy and can be playful. I am good with dogs and cats, but need to be with teenage children or older. I need a fenced in yard and would love to find someone who knows my breed. I am house-trained, neutered, vaccinated and really loveable. Call Jill at 910-620-3783 if you’d like to meet me. ♥

◄Hi, I’m Citrus, a lemon-colored Coonhound! I am about 5-years-old and I’m a sweet, cuddly, and calm hugger. I am great with people of all ages and would be a fantastic family dog! I love little kids and I’m so gentle with them. I’d love to have a kid or two to call my own, but I’d be just as happy with anybody who will just love me and give me hugs. I love other dogs and want to play with them, but cannot right now because I am going through heartworm treatment (which Adopt-An-ANGEL is paying for). I am good with cats but I’m more interested in their food than them. I am quiet and peaceful in my crate, and will sometimes put myself in there for a nap or if I have a toy or treat so I can have some time to myself. I walk well on leash and know sit. I am working on learning other manners and tricks, too. Please come meet me at Petco in Wilmington on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm or call Jill at 910-620-3783. ♥

Hi, I'm Charlotte, a beautiful Beagle mix girl who is ready to settle down in a calm, loving and patient home. At 33 pounds, I'm the perfect size for snuggling or going for leisurely walks around the neighborhood. And I may be 11-years-old, but age is just a number, right? I have some special needs including incontinence and a bit of neurological history, but don't let that discourage you. I'm a resilient pup with a lot of love to give. My human friends here at Paws Place can provide you with more information about my needs and how you can support me! Despite my challenges, I'm a friendly and affectionate girl who adores attention. I'll wag my tail endlessly when you give me pets and scratches behind the ears. I do love other dogs and cats; however, I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I may be a bit older, but I still have plenty of love and joy to share with the right family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will appreciate your company as much as you appreciate theirs, then look no further! Paws Place is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 2pm and no appointment is necessary. Email info@pawsplace.org or all 910-845-7297 with questions.

I am sponsored by Greenwood Pet Camp in memory of Houdini.

Hello! We are a sister and brother pair named Twizzler and Malcolm, just 3-years-old and super-loving as well as playful! We are a bonded pair so we must be adopted together. That’s me, Twizzler, the girl, on top. Malcolm and I both have a genetic eye condition that makes one of our eyes a bit cloudy, but it does not affect our quality of life or ability to bring joy to your home. Come meet us today,

please. You will find us at Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue (SOAR). Adoption hours are from 8am to Noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (closed on Thursday and Sunday). If you have any questions, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

We are sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

Thundering Paws Pet Adoption

►Hi, potential adopters!

I’m Tovie, the smallest 3-month-old girl in my litter. I love to play with and chase toys and other kitties. I was very sick when I was rescued and almost did not make it. I am super happy that I’m now strong and healthy after many vet visits. ♥

◄I’m the cutie pie, female tuxedo kitten named Socks. I’m a little shy with strangers but I’m affectionate when we become friends. My littermates and I were in freezing temps, starving and alone, when we were rescued. We were very sick and had to go to the vets many times to become well. We are now healthy, happy kittens thankful for the help. ♥

►Hello, I’m a handsome 3-month-old boy named Barron. I was rescued when it was freezing outdoors and I was very hungry and sick (along with my siblings). A kind rescuer brought us inside and took us to the kitty doctor until we became healthy. Now I’m the most cuddly, affectionate boy. ♥

◄Hi, Tabby Lovers! My name is Athena and I’m a 1-year-old girl who is super friendly. In fact, I am THE friendliest girl who loves to give head bumps and kisses. I enjoy hanging out with humans and relaxing together. I’m spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV so I’m ready for my furever home. ♥

▲I’m Clyde and I’ve been looking for my furever home for a long time. People misunderstand my shyness and think I’m unfriendly. When I get to know you, I love pets, belly rubs and purr super loud. I have already been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. I’m ready to bring lots of fun and joy to my forever home! ♥

▲I’m a medium-haired girl named Precious. I’m spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV. I’m a diva who loves to get all the human attention. I like to give kisses and be petted. It would be great to find my forever home so I can live as an only kitty! ♥

►My name is Barbie and I’m the only one in my litter who has not found my forever family! I get along with young children, cats and dogs. I’m very smart and know what’s going on around me. I’m sweet, cuddly, playful and a super cute companion. Will you adopt me? ♥

DOGTRAIN, INC.

Office Hours: 9-6pm Tues-Sat

Classes: 9-9pm Tues-Thurs 9-6pm Fri-Sat

My name is Josie and I would LOVE to meet you. I was saved from a rural shelter hours before it was my turn to be euthanized. The Unforgotten Souls knew that I was a good girlie and they saved me! My foster mom says when I first arrived to her house, I was a little wild but only because I wanted the love and attention that I had never experienced before. I didn't know how to be polite about it. Thankfully, my foster family gave me time to decompress and showed me I was worth all the love in the world. They taught me how to be a dog and introduced me to their dogs - slowly so I wasn't scared. My foster home siblings taught me so much. My foster mom is so proud of the dog I have become and how beautiful I am all the time. I've never been told that before or even been given affection or pets. I always give her kisses and crawl into her lap to lay my head on her shoulder and say thank you for giving me a chance. While I love this family, I can’t wait to find my very own forever family. I’m not too picky, but I do LOVE children so much that I would LOVE to find a home with kiddies to hang out with. Oh, I also really love other dogs, too - so some doggie pals would be great! Basically anyone looking for a sweet and funny girl who loves to snuggle and play, I think I would be the perfect fit for you. I’m already house-trained and crate-trained, and I’m fully vetted as well. Are you interested in me? I’m a one-of-a-kind delightful pup so please reach out for more information on me! You can visit The Unforgotten Souls online at www.theunforgottensouls.com and click on ‘Adopt’ or email theunforgottensouls@gmail.com to get the process started. To check out hilarious videos of me and to see the other adoptable pets, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/unforgottensoulsrescue.

I am sponsored by Robyn Davis in loving memory of Lou.

►I’m a darling little boy kitten with dark stripes and chocolate colored fur. My ID number is A059303, which means you can have the pleasure of giving me a name when you adopt me! There are lots of us kittens at the shelter and we all need good homes. Please put a visit to us on your ’Things To Do’ list! ♥

◄I’m a lovely and sweet girl named Zoe (A059252) and I can’t understand why I’m living at a shelter instead of inside a comfy home with loving people. I’ve been waiting for someone to arrive since early January but I hope I don’t have to wait too much longer. You can see what a nice girl I am from my photo, can’t you? I’m 2-years-old and ready to be yours! ♥

◄Can you see the gorgeous kitten hiding within this thin and bedraggled exterior? A little TLC from you and a good diet will do wonders - but you must adopt me first! My name is Eliza (A059204) and I’m a 7-month-old girl with black and white fur. I’m long-haired, too, and one day, after all the love and care you give me, it will be luxurious! I’ve been waiting here since December 31, so please hurry on over and get me! ♥

◄Hi, friends! My name is Logan (A058960) and I’m a 1-year-old Yellow Lab mix boy who would love to be the newest member of your pack! I am neutered and I tested negative for heartworms which is very good news. I’ve been waiting for a family since January 9. Now that you see how cute I am, come and meet me! ♥

►I’m a beautiful black and white girl with stunning tangerine colored eyes! My name is Mom (A059302) but thankfully the shelter will have me spayed so I won’t need to look after any kittens. I’ll be happy to look after you, though, and give you lots of love! Come meet me soon, please! ♥

◄Can you guess why I’m named Smiley Miley (A059177)? I’m giving you a hint in my photo, but why not arrive at my kennel door so I can show you in person! I’m a 2-year-old red and white Pitbull girl and I’m positive for heartworms. Please, don’t let that stop you from adopting me! It’s totally treatable and I’ll give you countless “I Love You” smiles for the rest of my life! ♥

Aren't I just the most handsome kitty ever?

I’m Kashmir, a Ragdoll boy who is 12-years-old, neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. I once lived the good life... travel, adventure and a loving home with my human parents. But things changed, they split up and now I find myself at a rescue. I am a little bewildered, sometimes grumpy. I'm learning to trust again and I am ok with other cats, but I need an experienced and patient new human to love me. Will you give me a chance and mend my broken heart? Call Sharon or Barb from The Ruffian Foundation at 910-262-8890 or 910-619-7198 and let’s arrange a get-together. Who knows, we may be a perfect match!

Enjoy Driving? Transport a Furry Friend!

RescueConnect is looking for transporters! Animals in their care need rides for a variety of reasons: to pick an animal up from a shelter where they have been pulled, to take them from foster homes to vet appointments, and to take them to partner groups for adoption. All you need is a secure vehicle and a desire to help! Drivers are needed that can help with both local transport and longer trips. If you would like to volunteer, visit www.rescueconnectnc.com, put your cursor over ‘Volunteer’ and then click on ‘Transport’. You can also call 910-302-7290 for more information.

I am sponsored by Tony and Peggy Durso. Thank you!

I’m an awesomely cute Pit Bull mix girl named Missy (AF5316). I have beautiful blonde brindle markings and, although fully grown at 2-years of age, I’m not very big so I’ll fit right in just about anywhere. I hope you’ll come to the shelter and get to know me! The volunteers can tell you what they’ve learned about me as we took walks and had playtime together. My adoption fee includes spay surgery, a physical examination, heartworm test and rabies vaccination. You’ll find me at Brunswick Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services. Adoption hours are 10am to 5pm Monday - Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. If you have any questions, please call 910-253-1738.

I am sponsored by Adam's Folly Pet Boarding, Bolivia, NC. Thank you!

◄Hi! I’m Pippa (AF4705), a Treeing Walker Coonhound girl, just 1-year-old. I’m a wonderful size and I have a delightful personality. I walk well on a leash and I like other dogs. I love to wag my tail and go for walks. In fact, I will meet you at the door with a smile and a tail wag! Don’t miss your opportunity to share life with someone like me! ♥

►Now who wouldn’t love the chance to live with a handsome mini-panther like me? My name is Gabe (AF5863) and I’m a young boy, just 2-years-old and neutered. It’s been a cold winter so far, and I’d love to help keep you warm. What do you say? Is a loveable, friendly and darling boy like me destined to be your new love? ♥

◄Imagine this sweet face being the first thing you see each morning! My name is Sauce (AF4971) and I’m a 2-year-old Coonhound boy with a gentle personality and a loving heart. I’ve been waiting for a family to pick me since December 12, 2024. Will you turn my luck around so that we can enjoy Valentine’s Day at home together? I’m all ready to go and my bags are packed. Come on over, ok? ♥

◄Baby Cat (AF5766) is my name, but sadly I’m no one’s baby right now, I’m all alone at the shelter! I am most definitely made to be someone’s baby, though, and at 5-years of age, I’ll settle right in at home without any of that kitten craziness. We can get right to cuddling.

I’m a girl, already spayed. Please take me home! ♥

►Hi there, readers! I’m a 4-year-old Coonhound boy who is a joy to walk, super-calm, friendly to other dogs, affectionate, playful...the list just goes on and on! My name is Dilbert (AF3918) and I’m quite the favorite around here. Everyone is quite surprised that I haven’t been plucked up like the gem that I am! Someone’s going to hit the jackpot with mecould it be you? ♥

Please visit our Facebook page to see other animals up for adoption.

◄Do you think I could be a Russian Blue kitty? Well, it’s anyone’s guess, but I do have that lovely bluish-grey fur that they are famous for! My name is Leah (AF5812) and I’m a 2-year-old girl, spayed and ready for the ride home with you. I know we just met, so please come on over and let’s get to know each other. ♥

My name is Mira and I'm a 4-year-old German Shepherd. I was pulled from a shelter and I'm in a wonderful foster home now. On my freedom ride, the transporter told my foster mom that she thought I had a seizure. We went straight to the vet office and I've been taking Keppra ever since. I've had a few more seizures as we got the dosage and schedule worked out, but I'm doing great now. I am a very calm, sweet girl, but I'm very aloof until I get to know you. I would do best in a calm, quiet home and I get along with all of my foster brothers and sisters. Oh, and in case you wanted to adopt me, my medicine costs $31 a month at Costco. That’s only around $1 a day. I am a little finicky and will only take my meds if it is wrapped in melted cheddar cheese or wrapped in black forest ham lunch meat. I'm much too smart for pill pockets or any other sort of trickery you might try. For more information, please call Coastal Canine Rescue at 910-470-5554 or send an email to coastalcaninerescue@ec.rr.com. You may also visit www.facebook.com/CoastalCanineRescue to see pictures of me and other pups looking for homes.

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

My name is Mr. Wilson and I’m a very affectionate 4-year-old boy who loves going for car rides and meeting new people. I also happen to be deaf. I will rely on you to communicate with me via body language, hand signals, and even facial expressions. Because of this, our bond will be special and unique! I am great with other dogs but not cats as I find them fun to chase. I have completed a 6-week obedience course where I learned all kinds of things. I have a willingness to please and to adapt to my deafness and I’m learning new training skills. Having the handicap of being deaf does not stop me at all. I’m looking for a family who will continue my training so I can work on learning more hand signals. I’m an all-around amazing guy and would do well with an adventuresome family. I’m also neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Please contact Hamilton’s Healing Hearts by email at hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com or give them a call at 910-271-5170 for more info on me.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Joey Mitchell.

Hi, my name is Cinnamon and I’m a 47-pound, 4-year-old girl with a heart as sweet as my name! Despite facing neglect and mistreatment in the past, I have a spirit that remains unbroken, and my resilience shines through like a beacon of hope.

I am searching for a sanctuary filled with love, patience, and understanding – a place where I can heal and rediscover the joy in life. With each gentle touch and reassuring word, you'll witness my trust slowly blossom, as I learn to wag my tail once more and embrace the warmth of human companionship. Because of my past, I do have a few requirements, such as a fenced-in yard, no young children and I would like to be the only pup in the home. Together, we can rewrite my story and show everyone that I am deserving of all the love and care in the world. If you're ready to be the hero in my tale of redemption, come meet me today and let's start a new chapter filled with endless love and second chances. Paws Place is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 2pm and there is no appointment necessary. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with questions.

►I'm going to start off saying - my name is Grace and I have a problem. The problem is that I am not allowed to live in a lot of places. Why? Because I am so majestic! Seriously, I am a Malamute/ Husky/Grey Wolf mix. I need a place that I can hang out and not get in trouble for being there. My foster mom and I have a great relationship. I'm a real sweetie and I love kids. I am current on my vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I've been in rescue going on 3-years! Don’t get me wrong, I love my foster mama so much but I need to have a family of my own. I prefer a home with kids because I love when they lay down with me on the floor and watch TV. I don't care to hang out with other dogs and I certainly don't like cats. But, if you really want me to ‘grace’ you with my presence (see what I did there), we need to make sure I'm allowed in your county and that you are familiar with my breed. So, who's ready for a big girl like me? If you’re interested in meeting me, please contact my foster mom and she will find out if I am allowed to live in your county. Please contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄BOOP, my name is Hope! I am a sweet, rambunctious girl who loves treats and toys and I love to give hugs. A nice couple found me on the side of the road and helped me get healthy. My foster mom has had me for almost a year. I love her for taking such good care of me, but I'm really looking for someone who can play with me and maybe even take me places. I love to go for rides in the car, as long as it’s not to the vet. I'm approximately 3-years-old, vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm a Treeing Walker Hound so I have a big voice and I’m not afraid to use it. Are you looking for a loving friend with energy? I'm your girl! Make sure you have plenty of stuffed toys for me to rip up because that’s my second favorite thing after riding in the car. If you would like to meet me and see if I’d be a good fit for your family, contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄Well, I'm not El Chapo but you can call me El Chaco. I am my brother's keeper (he’s pictured below). When our dad passed away, I knew that it would forever be my job to watch over my brother, Wolfie. Truth is, I get a little nervous when we are separated (let's keep that between us). Anyway, we have been with our foster mom for 2-years now and Wolfie and I just want to have a place of our own. I don’t really care much for other dogs besides my brother, but Wolfie would play with another dog. We are such good boys and we have a lot of love to give. We are vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We love being outside because we have such thick fur and we even like it when it’s cold outside. Wolfie and I would love to be a part of your family. If you’d like to meet us, please email our foster mom at roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

►What's up! My name is Wolfie (because I kinda look like one). My brother, Chaco, and I have been in rescue for almost 2-years. He’s pictured above. I love my foster mama but my brother and I would really like a yard to run around in and a couch to cuddle on. I love being outside and I love my sloth stuffed animal (I take it everywhere with me). We have a lot of fur because we are Husky/Shepherd/Lab mixes. My brother and I have to stay together because we are bonded and both depend on each other. We have never been separated and don't want to start now! We used to live with our dad but he passed away and someone took us to the shelter. We were so scared there. Our foster mom took us home and we are much happier now. We are both 5 to 6-years-old, vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We are so ready for a family of our own. Do you have enough love for us both? To meet us, contact our foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥
