PawPrints Magazine November 2024

Page 1

My name is Fisher and I am honored to be the first pet from Onslow County Animal Services to be featured on the cover of PawPrints Magazine! I’m a cute couch potato who wants nothing more than to roll around and be petted by a human. I can be found in my condo upside down as I roll to show my belly for affection. I’m a beautiful Calico girl who is thought to be about 5-years-old. I came in as a stray and am completely vetted, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas/ticks. Here at the shelter, I faithfully use my litterbox and keep my condo clean, even when I’m batting around catnip toys. I love catnip! I appear to be okay with other cats and don’t seem to mind when they pass close by. If you commit to me, I’ll be your faithful friend.

You can meet me and the other adoptable pets anytime during shelter hours. No appointment needed! Just come out to Onslow County Animal Services (244 Georgetown Road, Jacksonville, NC) on Tuesdays through Fridays from Noon to 5pm or on Saturday from 10am to 3:30pm. You can also call 910-937-1164 or 910-455-0182 or visit us at www.onslowcountync.gov/animalservices for info. If you have the inclination, you can fax me at 910-989-5798. Whatever works for you, baby!

My name is Buddah and I am a handsome 2-year-old boy. I am a pretty Russian Blue with fluffier, plush fur. I am one of the many cats rescued from the flood at Fix a Friend on 9/16/24 that has left them with a destroyed building and a CLOSED spay/neuter clinic that was fighting pet overpopulation. I was in a cardboard carrier on the last boat out with MANY other homeless foster cats that day. I would like to have a little less adventure in my life, a safe home just for me. I have seen too much despair in my short life and deserve a loving forever home that will cherish me for the rest of my life. I also lost my foster home that day and am grateful to the volunteers of Adopt-an-ANGEL who open their homes to homeless animals when we have no where to go. If you would like to donate to Adopt-an-ANGEL to help them rebuild Fix A Friend 6-feet higher or towards the eventual shelter they have never been able to erect, please donate at www.adoptanangel.net. Come meet me at Petco or call Jill with Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-620-3783 with any questions.

I am sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies and daddies who care for homeless animals.

Hi there! My name is Rowlin (A492446) and I was brought to the shelter because my owner was moving and could not take me along. At just 8-months-old, I’m a Pit Bull boy who is already 64 pounds, so

I’ll be a big fellow when fully grown. I’m a total sweetheart who has lived with other dogs and I’m already neutered. I love fluffy blankets and I also love being given lots of sweet attention from humans. Let’s meet at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday - Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more info, call 910-798-7500. Oh, and be sure to bring your kids and any other dogs you may have with you, too!

I am sponsored by Robyn Davis in loving memory of Lou.

THE UNFORGOTTEN SOULS

Are you looking for a perfectly polite snuggle bug to be your bestie for the rest of her days?

My name is Cammie and I’m an absolute doll baby. I am house-trained, great with other dog pals, great with kids, and an absolute snuggle bug. At just 2-years of age, I’m a polite pup who is 45 pounds, fully vetted and spayed. I’m a bundle of joy who thinks belly rubs are a serious business. In addition, I’m a well-mannered girl, always minding my P’s and Q’s (especially if “P” stands for “Pet me, please!”). I am great on car rides, an expert at greeting pals with a wagging tail (especially at my favorite ice cream shop), and my goofy antics are guaranteed to turn any frown upside down. So are you ready for endless cuddles and laugh-out-loud moments with the most polite doggie you've ever met? Your home will never be short on love or belly rub requests. Visit us online at www.theunforgottensouls.com and click on ‘Adopt’ or email theunforgottensouls@gmail.com for more info. To check out hilarious videos of me and to see our other adoptable pets, take a moment to visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/unforgottensoulsrescue. ♥

COASTAL CANINE RESCUE

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT (CARE)

I’m a beautiful Shepherd mix pup named Ariel! I came to CARE with an injury which left me with permanent coordination and balance challenges. I may fall down a little more or have a few more challenges getting up, but this does not stop me from playing and running with my puppy friends. While I try hard to be a good girl, my condition can result in an accident here and there but a good routine and lots of yard space could be a big help. I’m in need of a loving home, with a yard and hopefully other dogs or kids to play with! To meet me or learn more, call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. ♥

HAMILTON’S HEALING HEARTS

My name is Mira and I'm a 4-year-old German Shepherd. I was pulled from a shelter and I'm in a wonderful foster home now. On my freedom ride, the transporter told my foster mom that she thought I had a seizure. We went straight to the vet office and I've been taking Keppra ever since. I've had a few more seizures as we got the dosage and schedule worked out, but I'm doing great now. I am a very calm, sweet girl, but I'm very aloof until I get to know you. I would do best in a calm, quiet home and I get along with all of my foster brothers and sisters. Oh, and in case you wanted to adopt me, my medicine costs $31 a month at Costco. That’s only around $1 a day. I am a little finicky and will only take my meds if it is wrapped in melted cheddar cheese or wrapped in black forest ham lunch meat. I'm much too smart for pill pockets or any other sort of trickery you might try. For more info, call 910-470-5554 or email coastalcaninerescue@ec.rr.com. You may also visit www.facebook.com/CoastalCanineRescue to see pictures of me and other pups looking for homes. ♥

My name is Tuffy and I’m a 12 pound Chihuahua mix. I’m already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I do well with other dogs but I would acclimate best in a home with a single person as I get very attached to my people. I am good with cats as well. For most of my life, I lived in a home with my person. They recently had a stroke and went into rehabilitation. So, here I am adjusting to my new life and quest to find a patient and compassionate person to love. I’m currently in a foster home where I’m thriving. If you would like more information or would like to adopt me, please call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

Are you looking for a companion who’s not too small and not too big? Well, that’s me! My name is Shawna and I’m just right… right for you that is! I came all the way to Southeastern NC from Louisiana (where I had run out of time at a county shelter). I was tested with other dogs and I passed. I adore everyone I meet and I’m heartworm free. I’m visiting the dogtor soon where I will be spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. I have a stunning coat of colors and can’t wait to show you my loving soul. If you would like more information or would like to adopt me, please call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

WAGON TAILS FARM

I’m Liberty, an affectionate ball of energy. I know some basic obedience, I’m great with other dogs and kids but I’m still learning not to jump up on people. I’m really the sweetest girl who would make a great addition to any family looking for a loving, active pup. I should stay well under 50 pounds given my smaller stature. I am spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. You’ll be happy to know, I’m also crate-trained, house-trained, and doing well on leash-training. To adopt, please visit us online at www.wagontailsfarm.org/adopt and start the application process. For more info, please call Wagon Tails Farm Rescue at 910-375-3105. ♥

CAROLINA ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

Hey out there! Do y’all wanna play and have some fun? Well then, I’m your guy! My name is Leroy and I’m just 9-months-old and full of playful energy. I’ve been in training for almost two months now with Monty’s Home’s Pawsitive Partners Prison Program and I am soooo smart! I’ve learned all kinds of manners and tricks. They say I’m a Boxer/Lab mix who loves everybody. I am ready for a home and will graduate on November 5. Yup, that’s election day and you can vote to elect me as your new best friend. CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE

My name is Athena and I’m a 4-year-old, spayed female who is current on shots. My siblings and I came to CAPS after our family was faced with eviction. I’m a very laid-back and pleasingly plump little girl. I like to be petted, and I love to hang out with my family and siblings. I would do best in a quiet home without dogs and small children. For info, please email capsrescue@yahoo.com, call 910-455-9682, or visit www.capsrescue.com. ♥

Are you looking for a pair of All-Stars to join your home team? Look no further than us! I’m Fenway and I’m bonded with Wrigley. We are more Beagle than Basset, but CBHR took us in because we are so darn cute. We might be named after ballparks in two very different cities, but we are a matched set if there ever was one. Where Wrigley goes, I follow and vice versa. We are great snuggle buddies and perfect pups for a family who enjoys lots of activities. We love to play with toys and our favorite game is watching our foster people pick up and put away all our toys (so we can pull them back out again). We are house-trained and like to ride in the car. We get along great with everyone we’ve met so far. Our fosters haven’t observed us around kiddos, but they feel we would do well with them. Our foster parents take us and our canine foster brothers to doggie daycare, and we love it! We come home exhausted after romping and playing with the many friends we’ve made there. If you are looking for a fine pair of Hounds, you will have won the World Series with us! We are the sweetest! To adopt us or another Basset, please call Carolina Basset Hound Rescue at 888-909-2387 or visit us online at www.cbhr.com. ♥

Cats ~ Dogs

Hi, my name is Penelope Garcia and I’m a cute little girl with wiry fur, which gives me a distinctive appearance! At just 7-months-old, I was recently returned to the shelter due to my owner’s health. They say I’m a Lab mix and I currently weigh about 30 pounds. Like all youngsters, it would be great for me to have some obedience classes that both myself and my new family can learn from and bond over. I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, current on heartworm and flea prevention and microchipped. If you would love to make me your new companion, come meet me at the New Hanover Humane Society! Adoption hours are Monday - Friday from 10am to 2pm, and you can also call 910-763-6692 with any questions.

I am sponsored by Jackie Houser of Flexner Houser Injury Law because she can’t adopt us all!

◄My name is Joellie and I am a petite blind girl with a big personality! But I am very smart and learn my surroundings quickly. You will know when I want attention, which is often, because I will meow at you until I get it! I love being petted and don’t mind being held. Being blind doesn't cause me any issues using the litter box, and I get around the house well. On the rare occasion, I will get overstimulated, so a home with older children or no kids would be best for me. I get along well with other cats with time and proper introductions. I get along with calmer dogs, too. I have been patiently waiting to find a furever home for a long time. I do not attend adoption events, so please let us know if you’d like to meet. ♥

◄I’m Blue Eyes, a 5-year-old gorgeous Tabby. Not only am I sweet and loving, but I get along with other cats and would be ok with dogs (with enough time and patience for introductions). I enjoy exploring my foster mom’s catio and laying in the warm sun while I look for birds and squirrels from a safe distance. I like batting around small toys and enjoy a good scratching post. I’m on a special diet to prevent crystals in my urine and I love dry, wet and my special treats! More than anything else, I want a person of my very own! ♥

►My name is Nebraska and I am a stunning Calico beauty Queen. I’m around 13-years-old and I’m a very loving and sassy girl. I found my way into a scary shelter last year and was very lucky to make it out. I am a Lap Cat and a huge cuddle bug, and I love to sleep against my person's side. I love attention, but if you do something I don't like, I will let you know, so small children would not be a good fit. It will take a while to adjust to a new environment, so I am available as a foster-to-adopt, which will give us time to get to know each other. I tolerate other cats if they don't get in my space, but I would be great on my own. I am calm and quiet and would be a great companion for someone. I am current on vaccinations, spayed, and litterbox-trained. ♥

Adoption Fairs EVERY

Saturday from 11am - 3pm at Pet Supplies Plus in Porters Neck (134 Hays Lane)

►My name is Milk Dud and I am an energetic boy who’s super fun to play with. I love it when you drag a ball on a string or have a laser to chase. When I’m not playing, I love to cuddle with you or lay wherever you’re working or sitting. I may be a little shy at first, but will blossom into your best pal! I would prefer a home with no other cats. If you’re interested in adopting me, please reach out to set up an appointment as I do not attend adoption events. ♥

►My name is Darth Mittens and I am a fun-loving 10-year-old boy! Despite my name, I am the most affectionate cat that my foster mom has ever met. I want to be near my human all of the time, so I would need an attentive parent. Personal space does not exist for me. My best day is waking up next to your pillow, eating good food, laying on you all day, and purring into your face. I like to put my paws on your shoulder and stare lovingly into your eyes and slow blink. I like being held, and carried. My favorite toys are the plastic springs and small, soft balls. I would thrive in a busy home with many adults, kids, and other pets to give me attention. I love other cats, especially kittens. I haven’t met dogs, but I think I would get along well with them. I just want everyone to be my friend! Please reach out if you are interested in meeting me! ♥

◄I’m Luna Bell, a gorgeous, sweet, spunky and inquisitive 2-year-old lady. I thoroughly enjoy frolicking around the house with toys and exploring. I adore being petted and held, but I’m still learning how to be a lap cat as I prefer to lay near you on the couch! Struggling to survive, I was found outside in some bushes where I was trying to protect my newborn babies. My babies have all been adopted, but my instincts are still strong and because of this, I’m reactive around other animals. I need to be the only animal in the house. I don’t attend adoption events so if you’re interested in meeting me, please reach out to us. ♥

WE’RE ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO REBUILD!

Have you heard of Humpty Dumpty? That's me! I was broken beyond belief until Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab (FURR) saved me! I was a lonely broken feral cat with no hope of survival. They say I was probably hit by a car because I had a broken jaw (in 3 places), a torn off ear, a broken hip and I was a mess. I couldn't eat very well or clean myself with half of

my jaw hanging off. FURR and The Sound Cat Veterinary Hospital saved me. Now, I'm all better and beautiful! I am about 5-years-old and looking forward to my next rescue chapter. My body may have been broken into many pieces, but I'm good now and my heart is wide open for love! My name is Gordon and my eyes are CRYSTAL BLUE! Stop on by our website at www.catfurr.org to see videos of me. For more information or if you would like to adopt me, text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 email adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Ethan “EzE” Neal.

I’m a playful, fun and silly boy who loves toys and loves to be with people! What a surprise that a gem like me was found as a stray, but I’m sure my new person or family will adopt me soon! (That’s you, hint hint.)

At just 2-years-old, I’m a youngster who could benefit from basic training, but I’m very food motivated so I’m sure I’ll get an A+ in class! It would be a great bonding experience for you and me, too. I’m already neutered and my ID number is A492519. Come spend some time with me at New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit and bring any other dogs or kids you may have. Adoption hours are Monday - Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For info, call 910-798-7500.

I am sponsored by Fuzzy Peach (Monkey Junction). ♥ Free pup cups to any pet that visits! ♥ Fuzzy Peach loves pets.

Hi, my name is Storm. I’m a friendly and funny kitty, just 6-months-old. On 9/16/24, I was rescued from “Potential Tropical Storm 8”, which flooded the Fix-A-Friend clinic with 3 feet of water while I and 100 other cats and dogs were there getting fixed. The clinic was fostering me for Adopt-An-ANGEL and I was one of the last ones to leave on the boat. In the photo above, you can see me in one of the many cardboard carriers that transported us all to safety. You see, Adopt-an-ANGEL has no shelter and it never has! It opened a spay/neuter clinic instead of an animal shelter in order to stop pet overpopulation at its roots. On that day, the staff first rescued all of the publicly owned animals and animals from other rescues. Here we are leaving last, and someone snapped this picture of the heroic efforts that saved us all. I lost my foster home, but the staff and rescuers saved our lives. If you’d like to meet me, I am staying in the cages at PetSense in Shallotte or you can call Jill at 910-620-3783. They say I am a really snuggly kitty. Fix A Friend, the largest spay/neuter clinic in Southeastern North Carolina, was destroyed 4-feet and below throughout the entire 2600 square foot building. It performed 100 spay/neuters a day, which means that every week it remains closed, 400 animals can reproduce and set back the fight to stop pet overpopulation. Forty rescues who relied on its services are unable to fix their adoptable animals fast enough. To say that Fix A Friend is an important asset to our community is an understatement. If you’d like to donate and help rebuild the clinic, visit www.adoptanangel.net. I wonder how I got the name Storm?

◄Hi, I am Smartie! I came to Paws Place with my siblings and we were called the ‘Candy Pups’! Hence the name, Smartie. My sister Skittles and I are the only ones left. You can see her photo on page 44. We are a bit shy but, boy, do we love to snuggle once we are comfortable! I am very smart and as sweet as can be. I am a young Boxer mix girl at just 5-months of age and growing like a weed. I can’t wait to find my forever home! ♥

►Hi, I’m Lucy, the most loveable pup you’ll ever meet! I am goofy and active, a good 56ish pounds, and a whole 3-years-old. I’m in the middle of what the humans call the ‘healing process’ thanks to some of my hair deciding to come out. But boy, is it growing back fast, so don’t worry about that. I’m a cuddly Pit Bull mix girl and I just can’t wait to meet you! I love everyone! ♥

▲It’s me, Bowie! I am energetic, affectionate, goofy and the best girl ever! I am also 31 pounds of love and 1-yearold. As you can see, I have an eye that does not look like the other. Do not worry, I’m not in pain and it does not stop me from playing with my friends. I do have to see a special eye doctor but I can still go home to my new family! My human pals will better explain that when you visit. Now let’s get back to the good things about me! I love playing with other dogs, I love belly rubs, and I am very cute! I am so ready to go on all of the coolest adventures with you! ♥

◄Hi, I’m a little Chihuahua girl named Stella! I am new here at Paws Place and so far I have made so many new friends! A little bit about me, I am 4-years-old and about 15 pounds. I am just a little thing! I love to cuddle, receive belly rubs and take naps on fluffy beds! I am still learning the ropes around here, but I sure do love my human friends! I can’t wait to meet you - maybe we’ll be best friends forever? ♥

◄At just 10 pounds each and 4-years-old, we are a bonded pair of girls named Wren and Kitty! We two beauties are sure to melt your heart. That’s me, Kitty, sitting behind Wren. I find comfort

and confidence in being with her due to my poor vision. We are pretty shy but our pals at the shelter say that once we find a kind, patient, loving family in a much calmer environment, we will come out of our shells and share our love with our humans. Come meet us! ♥

◄Hi there, I’m Ferris, a 25-pound, 3-year-old boy! Some call me short-stack, low-rider, or the teeny-weeny Hound dog, but let me tell you, I have a full-sized personality! I’m active and fun and would love a home with a fencedin yard. I’m also a chill dude who likes sitting at a window and watching the birds. Sometimes I’ll even sing with them! And I’m definitely a big belly rub lover! If you want a pal who is affectionate, active, and has the voice of an angel, I am your guy! Please visit! ♥

◄I’m a handsome, mediumhaired chocolate Tabby kitten named Boone and I’m the best! I’m sitting up tall to show everyone what a big boy I’m going to be. I have such a big personality too, says my foster mom, and I prove her point every day. I love to run, play with my siblings, explore my surroundings, and then I’ll take a break for some petting. And yes, I even tolerate being groomed by the dog in my foster family. Please call or text CAT at 910-599-2755 so that you can meet me in person. I’m such a wonderful boy! ♥

◄I’m Birdie, your new bestie! I’m a 2-year-old white cat with gray patches, including one on my nose! My foster mom calls me her ‘Velcro cat’ because I want to be right beside my person and I love to be petted. I’m also very happy to be held. I get along with other cats and I don’t mind the large dogs who live in my foster home. I’m a super-sweet girl and so deserving of my own bestie.

If you’d like to meet me, text or call 910-599-2755. ♥

►I’m adorable 5-month-old Liam, the only boy and the only black/white kitten of my litter, and I’m ready to find my forever family! I’m a happy little fellow who was rescued from a crawl space with my mom and sisters. I have the sweetest personality with a splash of rambunctiousness to balance out my little motor that never stops purring. And did I mention my tiny pink nose with matching toes? I’m the cutest! Call or text 910-599-2755 and let’s arrange a visit. ♥

◄I’m Sharon, a beautiful mediumhaired black and gray tabby kitten, just 5-months-old. I was rescued from the side of the road by a Good Samaritan. I’m a lucky girl and I return the love I receive with loud purrs. Although litte, I’m bold, fearless and a very social girl who loves to play with other kittens. If nobody is around to play with me, I’m just fine on my own and will entertain myself with toys. I’m just the perfect kitten! If you’d like to meet me, please call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755. ♥

◄I’m beautiful Bobsie, a rare orange Tabby girl who has had a rough start in life. I gave birth to a litter of kittens under a trailer and had few food sources until my kittens and I were rescued. I was a devoted mama and now that all my kittens have been adopted, I am ready for my very own forever home! I’m a very sweet 3-year-old girl and I love to sit next to you and be petted. And, yes, I was a dignified mama, but I really love to play like a kitten myself! To meet me, call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755. ♥

►My name is Tyler and I’m the cutest medium-haired tuxedo kitten. At only 12-weeks-old, I am already so very sweet and affectionate and I love to cuddle with my humans. I also love to play with my toys and with my siblings. I am doing great in a foster home with lots of other cats and dogs and I’m happy to run around in the middle of all the action. Like everyone on this page, I am already fixed, up to date on vaccines and litterbox-trained. I hope you’ll call or text 910-599-2755 so we can meet sometime soon. You’re sure to fall in love with me! ♥

Get Your Lab Love Right Here! My name is Aster and I'm a 1-year-old Yellow Lab mix girl, as sweet as can be. I’m your typically happy pup, but I’m a survivor, too! Yep, I somehow ingested rat poison before coming to the shelter. Thankfully, my new friends got me emergency care and I made a full recovery! Now I am just enjoying life and waiting for my new family to walk through the door. I love to play with other dogs and kids, I enjoy going for walks, and I have a lot of fun with toys. I am also spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Come to Pender County Humane Society and see for yourself what a great girl I am! For visiting hours or any other info, please call 910-259-7022.

CRAPPIE

My name is Crappie, just like the fish. I have had a crappy life, though, that is until I was saved from the torn down Atlantic Seafood place. Life was pretty rough but I have come a LONG way! I desperately need love. I am partially blind, but my heart is whole. I am a tiny girl and FURR has already paid for dental surgery for me. I had several teeth pulled and I feel so much better now. I LOVE treats and I do a silent meow when asking for them. I get along great with other cats, but sometimes they pick on me. If you want a kitty to care for who will return your love ten fold, please come and visit me. I'm hopeful someone will want me soon! Also, my smile looks like Grumpy Cat, which makes me even more adorable.

DONATE: Covering medical costs, pet supplies and food are every day expenses for FURR. We accept monetary and non-monetary donations which are tax-deductible to the extent of the law!

CONNOR

I’m an adorable guy who purrs when you just look at me. My name is Connor and I’m a cutie pie Tuxedo boy. Everyone here says that I’m just the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. I’m waiting to be swept off my paws and loved forever. I’m an absolutely PURRFECT kitten who you are guaranteed to fall in love with. Let’s enjoy life together.

VOLUNTEER: There are lots of ways to help our cause, from raising awareness about spaying/neutering, to helping with fundraisers or simply volunteering time to care for the kitties!

OSCAR & EMMY

We are Oscar and Emmy and we’d be honored to award your home with love and joy. We are so amazing, we’re really friendly and we’ve become Official Door Greeters here at FURR We can provide you with tons of fun every day. We enjoy play time and with lots of room to run all over the house, we will entertain you. We are silly siblings who love life. At 1½-years of age, we will be the best kitties you've ever had for many years to come. We love new challenges, chasing toys, playing with kids and talking all about it. We are fully vetted, microchipped and ready to go. Why don't you come play with us and see what we have to offer. Check out videos of us at www.catfurr.org.

Hi, Everyone! My name is Gracie but my foster mom calls me Gracie Lou Who or Lil' Mama. I'm a 48 pound, 5-year-old German Shepherd mix looking for my forever home. I am housetrained and crate-trained and love to snuggle. At bed time, I sleep on the bed with my foster mom and would love a forever home where I could continue to do so. I love to be petted and will lay on top of you and put my face in yours when you stop. Because my favorite place to be is with my people, I do not require a fenced in yard. While I love to play with my fur foster brother, I prefer to be the only female dog in the house. I ignore female dogs in social settings but would prefer that they not try to interact with me. I have not met any cats so I do not know how I feel about them. I like children but think I would do best in a home with older ones because I might knock littles over. I am very food and treat motivated and will be best friends with anyone who feeds me. All of my foster mom's friends say that I'm just so sweet that they don't understand why I haven't been adopted yet. If you’re interested in being my lifelong cuddle buddy, complete an application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org and an adoption coordinator will be assigned to you. I am being fostered near Fayetteville. Please call Freedom German Shepherd Rescue at 919-670-5905 or send an email to info@freedomgsrescue.org for additional info.

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

We aren’t siblings. In fact, we aren’t related at all but we’ve just been together long enough that we’re bonded like brother and sister. Our family came apart because of a divorce. We have been through a lot before we ended up back at Cat Tails, right where we started! We are still together, and we hope it stays that way. I’m Gavin, a 4-year-old gray cat and my sister, Mollie, is an 8-year-old orange and white cat. We are both spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations. To adopt, us please call Cat Tails at 910-253-1375 or email cattails@atmc.net!

We are sponsored in loving memory of Jane “Button” Honeycutt Spencer.

◄My name is Fallon. I am a beautiful girl with a lovely mix of sweetness and loving personality. My fur has some gorgeous fall colors. I love attention and laying on my foster’s lap. I had 7 kittens at a very young age and I was caring for them under a porch at the beach. I took excellent care of them but now they are big and it's my time to have a loving home with the attention I desire. I'm happy I was rescued from a life outside and it's getting chilly at the beach. I love being inside and cozy, especially with winter coming. Please let me be your best friend! ♥

◄I’m Seahawk, a large neutered male kitty who is mostly white with some brown Tabby markings. I was found wandering around the UNCW campus (hence my name) and was turned in to Animal Services. No owner has come forward to claim me so I am now with Friends of Felines and available for adoption. I have lots of energy and get along well with other cats. I thrive on attention and love being in the company of people.

My vibrant personality and affectionate nature make me a wonderful companion for any home. ♥

►My name is Jax and I’m a cute white mittened, super chill boy who just loves to hang out in the sun in a hammock or by your side. I’m funny and love to lay on my back and roll around. I have a laid back personality, I’m very quiet and I love sniffing new things. I also love treats, springy toys and catching flies! My sister, Cleo, is a beautifully striped, sweet little girl who wants all the pets. She is very loveable, agile and outgoing. She likes to sit on your lap if you’re working or she just wants to hang out with you where ever you are. She loves treats, has the cutest meow and loves her mouse toys and chasing flies. We are a super loving and cuddly brother and sister bonded pair. I mean, just look at us cuddled up together! Our aproximate date of birth is October 10, 2022, so we are just over 2-years-old. We are the sweetest, happiest and most loveable cats. There’s not a mean bone in our bodies. We love to play, chill in the sun, cuddle with you all the time - especially at night in bed. We are very outgoing, curious and not timid or skittish at all. No bad habits, we just want love, affection and food. We are great with people, dogs and other cats. We are really hoping to be adopted together since we are bonded and have never been separated from each other. ♥

▲I’m Polly Paws, an elegant older adult cat with a stunning, thick coat of fur that showcases my timeless beauty. Despite my slightly timid nature, I have a heart full of love and a strong desire for attention. It may take a little time for me to warm up, but once I do, I’m a devoted and affectionate companion. I enjoy the gentle company of those who understand my shy demeanor and who can provide me with the comfort and reassurance I need. If you're looking for a loving, loyal friend who will appreciate your kindness and patience, I’ll be the perfect addition to your home. I came to Friends of Felines with infected paws, hence the name Polly Paws. I also had a lot of bad teeth but I’ve had a full dental with several teeth being pulled. At 6 to 7-years of age, I’m in good health. Since I had a rough life of living outside trying to survive, I would be content in a quiet home with a lap to crawl up on. ♥

Meow! My name is Garfield but unlike my large namesake, I am slender and strong. My pretty Orange Tabby coat has cinnamon bun swirls! I am about 8-years-old and love people. I was found living in a parking lot, and was brought to the sanctuary by my rescuer. I sure would love to have my own home where I can have my own people! I am fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, litterbox-trained and negative for FeLV and FIV. Won't you please come meet me and maybe take me home? I’m at The Ruffian Foundation so I hope you’ll call Sharon or Barb at 910-262-8890 or 910-619-7198 so that we can set up a time to meet.

I am sponsored by Tony and Peggy Durso. Thank you!

Hello out there! My name is Jewls and I’m a 6-month-old Pit mix puppy girl! I’m a very happy and sweet pup who loves being given attention. I’m good with kids, I’m good with other dogs and I’m up to date on puppy vaccines. I’ll be spayed prior to my adoption. My friends at the shelter think I’ll be a big girl when fully grown. If interested in me, drop by Pender County Humane Society or go ahead and fill out an adoption application on the website at www.penderhumane.org. For visiting hours or any other info, please call 910-259-7022. I’ll be so happy to grow up as a member of your household!

I am sponsored by the Furry Friends Re-sale Shop in honor and memory of all the animals who've passed through the doors of Pender County Humane Society.

◄My name's Lassy! I'm 6-years-old and was a stray at a municipal shelter. I heard them say I have some "medical" problems and that only a rescue could get me. I was sure hoping that a rescue was going to come get me and they did! I have something called mammary tumors but I am going to have surgery to get all of them removed. I'm kinda scared about surgery but my peeps keep telling me not to worry. I also have heartworms but those will be taken care of, too. So that means, I'm going to be just fine. Geesh, kinda a lot of things for a "spring chicken" like me but my foster mom is taking such good care of me. I love people and furry doggy friends. They say I’m a Beagle mix. I don’t know what that is, but all I know is that I’m beautiful! I’m available for foster-to-adopt following my surgery and results. Please keep your paws crossed that all is well with the tissue reports. ♥

◄My name is Gypsy because I was found as a stray along with my pups. I am about 2-years-old and a really good Mama. I cared for my babies in a foster home and went to the doggy doctor where I got a clean bill of health. I finally got them to eat on their own, but then four more orphaned babies came in who needed me, so I helped them, too. Now they are all doing well and my work as a mother is done. It's time for some "me" time and my very own family. I like to hang out with other dogs but I would be ok by myself, too. I'm not a big gal and wouldn't take up too much space. I am heartworm negative, spayed and vaccinated and ready to be your girl. ♥

►Hi, my name is Wallen and I am still waiting for my furever home and I don't know why? Doesn't anyone want to give me a chance? I promise to love you! You see, I came from a not-so-good situation and that makes me sad but I LOVE my foster parents and siblings. I know I am a bully breed but I am no bully! Once I trust you, I will love you forever. And honestly, just a few treats and I'm yours! I am learning manners with a really cool guy named Jeff. He says I am a good boy. My doggie doctor said I am healthy and have no little wormy things in my heart. I'm neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention. Sometimes I get itchy skin, but my foster family gives me some medicine so it gets all better really quick. Well, enough about me - What ya think? Maybe you want to meet me? I hope so. ♥

►I’m Nacho and I’m a handsome guy who is around 3-years of age. Even though I’m considered a bully breed mix, I am no bully. In fact, I love hugs and always try to be the bestest boy! My goals are getting someone to throw the ball for me, locating yummy treats for my belly, and finding a loving forever family. I’m in a foster home right now and have three furry friends, which is a lot of fun. I’m a pretty chill guy, already house-trained and leash-trained. I am also vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. My people told me I have heartworms, but my treatments are covered. I am super sweet and I am going to make someone really happy. I’d be good with or without a fur sibling (but no puppies or small dogs), and my paws are crossed with hopes that you want to meet me. ♥

◄My name is Ink but I like Drako better. I'm only about 1-year-old and already have had some disappointments in life. First, I was picked up as a stray and my people didn't come get me. The shelter made me very nervous and sad, but I got adopted! I was sooooo happy to have my very own family again. But then, I guess I liked to wiggle butt too much and play with their little human, so they brought me back. I was a really good boy, but just a little too much for their little one and kept knocking her over. I didn't mean to - I was just playing. So I was back to not having a family again. No other adopters were interested in me and I ran out of time. Even though I didn't do anything bad, there just wasn't anymore space. Luckily, FBAR sprung me out! They brought me to a cool foster home and I’m just lovin' life. I do like to play hard but I also like to nap hard. Pretty good balance, I think. My doggy doctor said I was good to go. I have no wormy things in my heart, got a microchip, got neutered and got all my shots. So now, I'm just waiting for my forever people. I love to do zoomies so a fence would be super cool. I am learning manners and I really want to be a good boy so I will try very hard. I wouldn't mind a furry sister but I'm cool if I'm the only pup in the house. I don't like those meowing things (I think you call them cats), so that wouldn't be a lot of fun for anyone. ♥

Hi, I am Pickles, the Hound dog who sings the blues! I am still learning the ropes around here and how to be a dog, if ya know what I mean. The humans say I have worms living in my heart but that’s no surprise since I was found roaming the streets. They tell me I will be healthy soon, though! I am a young boy at just 4-years-old and I would say I am the perfect size pup, just shy of 40 pounds! Anywho, I gotta go back to singing now, the humans say I sound like a goose, so I think that means they love it! Please come meet me at Paws Place. No appointment is necessary, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. You can also call 910-845-7297 or send an email to info@pawsplace.org with any questions.

I am sponsored by Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar in Carolina Beach and in loving memory of Bess and beach dogs everywhere.

◄I had a wonderful family, and they really wanted to keep me but the youngest child developed an allergy to cats. So, I came back to Cat Tails with high hopes of finding another home! I’m 4-years-old and I have many years of love still to give. I’m a big boy who is a Maine Coon mix with brown Tabby and white coloring. When you come to meet me, ask for Freddy. ♥

▲I’m KitKat (pictured on the left) and this is my brother, Kringle (pictured on the right). We are 4-month-old orange Tabbies. We had other siblings who have been adopted, but they left the best for last! We were raised in a foster home, so we know how to behave and our foster mother said we are wonderful kittens. We think we, either one of us or both, would fit perfectly in your family. ♥

►I am a cute little black and white, tuxedo girl who was found near the Myrtle Beach Airport so naturally, my name is Myrtle. I’m loads of fun, very playful, friendly, pretty neat for my age, and very anxious to be adopted. Maybe you could help me with that part? I am already spayed and I’m current on age appropriate vaccinations. Don’t you know life is better with a feline by your side? ♥

►I’m David and I don’t have a good story to tell you. Everyone I meet asks me how I ended up at Cat Tails and I have to say I don’t know. I’m a brown Tabby and I’m 6-months of age. I’m sweet and I’m quiet and pretty calm for a kitten. I like it here and I’ve made lots of friends, but I don’t want to stay forever. I really want to be adopted! Could you help me out with that? I’m already neutered and I’m current on age appropriate vaccinations. ♥

▲We are brothers who were found in Wilmington. If we do say so ourselves, we are the sweetest kittens ever. We love to snuggle with each other or curl up in someone’s lap for a cozy warm cat nap. After that, we’re ready for some fun. We run and play and throw our toys everywhere! Our names are Milo, the gray Tabby on the left, and Max, the orange Tabby on the right, and we are 3-months-old. We think you should come and meet us. ♥

◄A girl found me all by myself. She picked me up and brought me to Cat Tails when I was very little. At first, I was Mason, just another gray Tabby. Now, I’m about 6-months-old and everyone says I’m a very handsome young man. I have beautiful swirls all over my sides and a cute white spot on my nose! I’m somewhat shy but I will grow out of that when I have a home and loving family. ♥

►My name is Mandy. I'm 1-year-old, and I’m spayed, dewormed and have been treated for fleas. I am a dainty, orange female which is a RARE FIND! Did you know that most orange cats are boys? I'm definitely what you'd call a "Cat's Cat". I will thrive with a companion cat (male or female). I'm submissive and will not have any behavior issues. My foster home has a submissive adult male and female and I play with both of them. So if you're looking for a companion for your cat - I'm that cat! I'm friendly, loving and affectionate and very playful at times. I might be a little shy and timid at first, but as soon as I trust you, I will make a great addition to just about any home. I have never been around children or dogs, so that's unknown. If you are interested in adopting me, text Melinda with Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-471-6909. ♥

◄Hi! My name is Vader Aren't I just darling? I am a pretty, tortoiseshell teenaged kitten at just 5-months of age. It is hard to believe I am getting overlooked and growing up in the cages of a pet store. I am sweet, friendly and do well with cats and dogsprobably kids, too. If you would like to meet me, please come see me at PetSense in Leland (where I’m currently living) or call Sherry at 910-523-1254. ♥

►Hi, my name is Dori. I am an adorable Lab and Pit mix who is about 6-months-old and weighs about 30 pounds. I was adopted as a puppy but recently returned. Did you know that is fairly common? About 15% to 20% of young puppies get returned by 6-months of age. Now, I am a lanky teenager who may not be as cute and little as the puppies I am now competing with for a home. I am playful, sweet and eager to please. I seem to do well with other animals and older kids. Please come see me at Petco on Saturdays from 11am to 3:30pm or call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783 for more information. ♥

►My name is Daisy and I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. I am less than a year old. I am a sweet and loving girl who is good with kids and other cats. I have been homeless all summer as I competed with all the cute, tiny kittens. Will you give me a second look? I am only a few months older than a kitten and I have a lot to offer. I am quiet, reserved and less demanding. I welcome a tender touch and will warm up quickly if you just give me a chance. Meet me at PetSense in Leland or call Sherry at 910-523-1254. ♥

►My name is Milo and I am a 6-year-old Shepherd mix who weighs about 50 pounds. I am still a pretty jolly guy and can be playful. I am good with dogs and cats, but need to be with teenage children or older. I need a fenced in yard and would love to find someone who knows my breed. I am house-trained, neutered, vaccinated and really loveable. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783 if you’d like to meet me. ♥

◄LAB ALERT! My name is Chilli and I’m a great dog! I’m a Labrador Retriever mix who weighs about 70 pounds. I would do best in a home with a fenced yard because I am strong and can pull some when walking on a leash. I am ok with other dogs, but I’m a little dominant so it’s probably not ideal for me to live with another one. I am too interested in cats so a cat-free home would be best. I am food motivated, smart, and eager to please. I am a young, 2-year-old typical Lab. Please come meet me at Petco on Saturdays from 11am to 3:30pm or call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783. ♥

I am SUCH a sweet boy! How on earth am I homeless? I was found as a stray but I’m such a people-friendly fellow that I must have been someone’s beloved companion. Still, no one has come looking for me so I could be all yours! At 2-years-old, I’m a Lab mix boy who will roll over for as many belly rubs as you’ll give me. I like playing with toys and carrying them around in my mouth, and when I’m through playing I just want to cuddle up by your side. My ID number is A491420 and I hope you’ll soon come meet me at New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday - Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more info, call 910-798-7500. One more thing, if you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them with you so I can meet them, too!

I am sponsored by the Hufstedler family in loving memory of their past loved fur babies: Ella, Rex, Misty, Buddy, Dottie and Houston.

Hiya! My name is Mr. Wilson and I’m a very affectionate 4-year-old boy who loves going for car rides and meeting new people. I also happen to be deaf. I will rely on you to communicate with me via body language, hand signals, and even facial expressions. Because of this, our bond will

special and unique! I am great with other dogs but not cats as I find them fun to chase. I have completed a 6-week obedience course where I learned all kinds of things. I have a willingness to please and to adapt to my deafness and I’m learning new training skills. Having the handicap of being deaf does not stop me at all. I’m looking for a family who will continue my training so I can work on learning more hand signals. I’m an all-around amazing guy and would do well with an adventuresome family. I’m also neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Adopt me and let’s create unforgettable memories together! Contact Hamilton’s Healing Hearts by email at hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com or give them a call at 910-271-5170 for more info on me.

I am sponsored by Christy Lee. Thank you!

►My name is Precious! I’m a 1½-year-old, medium-haired affectionate Calico who loves to make biscuits and make you feel cherished. I like to follow you around and give you head rubs and kisses. I am spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and enjoy being held. Even though I’m tiny at just 6 pounds, I’m a confident kitty who will bring my forever family lots of love. Could I be your faithful companion? ♥

▲Hi, I’m Vinny (pictured on the left) and this is my sister, Sylvia (pictured on floral carpet). We are 6½-month-old Tabby siblings. I’m extremely affectionate and love to be with humans. I’m not shy at all and even the vacuum cleaner doesn’t spook me! Sylvia is also very friendly and playful. She loves a good laser pointer play session. She can be shy at first but warms up with time. She’d love to have a kitty buddy if adopted separately from me. We both get along with kittens and adult cats! We are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, negative for FeLV/FIV and on flea prevention. Please contact Thundering Paws to meet or adopt us. ♥

►Hi, I’m 5-months-old and my name is Oreo! I love to be petted and purr nonstop. I’m also very good with other cats. I went to the vet and tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and was dewormed, neutered and vaccinated. I love to play, I’m very friendly and I’m litterbox-trained! I was rescued from under a shed at Lowe’s and hope to find a loving family soon. ♥

Thundering Paws Pet Adoption

◄Hi, I’m a beautiful 3-year-old, long-haired, gray Tabby with some beige on my chest. I received complete vet care and a blood analysis and I’m in great health. I have tested negative for FeLV/FIV and I have been dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. I love to be petted on my head and under my chin. My name is Dove because I love to ‘coo’ and talk to you. I was bullied by outdoor cats and prefer a peaceful adult-only home without other felines. Please be patient with me until we know each other. I was declawed and let outdoors where I had many scary experiences. I wish to find a loving home to give and receive lots of love. ♥

◄Look how cute I am hanging out on my cat tree. My name is Gulliver and I’m an affectionate and playful boy who does great with other cats and friendly dogs. I like to cuddle and would be a very good emotional support cat. I’m just shy of my 1st Birthday, and I’m already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and on flea prevention. I’m calm, friendly and love to be with you. I hope you will adopt me and give me the forever home I deserve. ♥

►I’m so tired of being overlooked so I’m wearing this Zorro mustache and Indiana Jones hat to try and get your attention. Did it work? I sure hope so. While I’m no daredevil archaeologist, I would really dig being your new best friend. My name is Clyde and I am 2-years-old. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life: cardboard boxes, long conversations, cuddles, belly rubs and being petted. I can make biscuits anywhere! I purr super loud when you pet or hold me. I get along very well with cats of all ages and love to hang out with cat buddies. I have already been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. I’m ready to bring lots of fun and joy to my forever home! ♥

We are the duo you never knew you needed! Once you meet us, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without us. I’m Happy, a Labrador Retriever, and this is my best friend, Jake. He’s a Cattle Dog mix. We two boys are very friendly, laid-back and affectionate pups! We’re a bonded pair and brothers for life! Jake is 13-years-old and weighs about 33 pounds. I’m a young buck at 7-years-old and 73 pounds. My name - Happy - truly fits me! I love, love, love my toys! We two are ready for a fresh start in life and a home full of love. Could that be yours? Come meet us at Paws Place! No appointment is necessary and the shelter is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with questions.

Walk.

Hi, my name is Lady. I am 3-years-old, 50 pounds, spayed, vaccinated and good with other dogs. I enjoy hanging outside when it's not too hot and taking walks with people. As you can see, when it's time to relax, I love to snuggle. As you can also see, I enjoy playing with stuffed toys. I am housetrained and crate-trained but loud noises and too much ruckus makes me nervous. So, I would do best in a home with no young children under 13. I need someone patient to work with me on leash-training since I love to chase critters on our walks. My perfect family will give me time to get used to my surroundings and will have patience with me

◄Rocky (A058228) is my name and I am going to be a great family companion! I behaved so nicely inside with my new human friends at the shelter and sat so sweetly for my photo. Still, I’m so confused about being here and just want to be part of a family again! I’m a 10-month-old red and white Lab mix boy who is negative for heartworms, yay! Come meet me! ♥

◄If it hurts your heart to see a little kitten like me all alone in the world, I hope you’ll come meet me at the

shelter. There are lots of wonderful cats and kittens here, just like me. I’m a 10 to 12-week-old girl who is perfectly sweet and my ID number is A057880. See you soon! ♥

►Hi, friends! My name is Cookie (A058082) and I’m an 8-month-old German Shepherd who loves to greet visitors and play in the fenced yard here at the shelter. I’m a very sweet girl, already spayed, and it looks like I’ll be a small German Shepherd, as I’m not that big. If you’d like to meet me, come on over and take me into the play area. You’ll just love me! ♥

◄Hello there! My name is Blessing (A058233) and I’m a 2-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix boy with a sweet personality and a kissable face! You would be blessed to have me in your home, no doubt! Know what’s even more of a blessing? I am heartworm negative and on prevention and I’m also neutered. Can we please go home today? ♥

◄Looking for a friendly, social and handsome feline? Well, how about me, I check all those boxes! My ID number is A057015 and I’m a 2-year-old boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, up to date on flea prevention and litterbox-trained. And guess what, my adoption fee has been paid so there is NO COST to adopt me! It’s the best deal ever, so hurry on over! ♥

OVERCROWDED AND NEAR

◄Did you ever think you’d see such a pretty Calico girl sitting all by herself in a cage at a shelter? I should be laying in your lap or watching the world go by from a cat bed placed conveniently by the window. That would be a great life! If you’d like to give it to me, please hurry over! I’m a 5-month-old darling, already spayed and ready to go. My ID number is A058294. ♥

FURR STILL NEEDS HELPERS: It’s Playtime at FURR’s Kitty Happy Hour

Hello, my name is Pearl and I am a Pomeranian and American Eskimo mix. I am 10-years young and I would enjoy a family all to myself or one with another quiet dog companion. I have limited hearing and mobility but love walks in the yard to potty. Due to my age, I cannot be spayed so I should not be around unaltered males, but I love dogs, cats and kids! I recently had a dental so I need to eat canned foods. If you are interested in hearing more, please fill out an adoption application at www.rescueconnectnc.com or call RescueConnect at 910-302-7290.

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

◄Hi! I’m a puppy girl, grey in color and sweet in nature! I’m also smart and gentle, too. I’m called Rizzo (AF4027) and it’s thought I’ll be a petite dog as my momma was not very big. The staff is teaching me commands and words and I’m learning them so well! You’ll be delighted by me and my cuteness, so hurry on over today! ♥

►Hi, friends. My name is Sydney (A4442) and I’m hoping there are some Jack Russell Terrier fans reading this. That’s my breed and I have a longish wiry coat that only adds to my beauty! At 6-years-old, I’m a total cutie-pie who would love the chance to make your house a home. Won’t you come by the shelter and meet me soon? ♥

◄Hugo (AF3924) is my name but I think it should be Handsome Hugo as I am quite a dapper boy in my perfectly-fitted tuxedo. I take it with me wherever I go! Hello there!

I am Skittles, a Boxer mix puppy girl whose personality is just as sweet as my name! I came to Paws Place with my sisters and one brother; however, my sister Smartie and I are the last two still waiting to find our perfect match. You can see my sister’s photo on page 19. I am very shy at first, but once I get comfortable you will find me curled up in your lap! I am looking forward to finding my forever home, one that is patient, loving and ready to help me become the brave pup I know I am deep down. I still have a lot to learn at just 5-months-old, and I am growing like a weed every day, but I am ready to settle down and find my perfect family! Please come get to know me at Paws Place. No appointment is necessary, and visiting hours are on Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. You can also call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with any questions.

I am sponsored by The Tree House Gang at Saltscapes Landscaping. Thank you!

I’ve always been a well-loved family cat and am sweet, snuggly and purry. I love attention and love to be petted. My name is Sebastian and I even lived happily with a little pup! At 3-years-old, I’m simply a darling boy who lost my home through no fault of my own. So why is a perfect family companion like me all alone? No one can understand it. I’m already neutered, vaccinated, litterbox-trained and yes, I’m positive for FIV, but I’ll live a long, healthy life with the same good care you’d give any other cat. SOAR would be happy to tell you morethey say I’m the best kitty ever! Won’t you come and meet me? Adoption hours are from 8am to Noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (closed on Thursday and Sunday). If you have any questions, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

►I'm going to start off saying - my name is Grace and I have a problem. The problem is that I am not allowed to live in a lot of places. Why? Because I am so majestic! Seriously, I am a Malamute/ Husky/Grey Wolf mix. I need a place that I can hang out and not get in trouble for being there. My foster mom and I have a great relationship. I'm a real sweetie and I love kids. I am current on my vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I've been in rescue going on 3-years! Don’t get me wrong, I love my foster mama so much but I need to have a family of my own. I prefer a home with kids because I love when they lay down with me on the floor and watch TV. I don't care to hang out with other dogs and I certainly don't like cats. But, if you really want me to ‘grace’ you with my presence (see what I did there), we need to make sure I'm allowed in your county and that you are familiar with my breed. So, who's ready for a big girl like me? If you’re interested in meeting me, please contact my foster mom and she will find out if I am allowed to live in your county. Please contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄BOOP, my name is Hope! I am a sweet, rambunctious girl who loves treats and toys and I love to give hugs. A nice couple found me on the side of the road and helped me get healthy. My foster mom has had me for almost a year. I love her for taking such good care of me, but I'm really looking for someone who can play with me and maybe even take me places. I love to go for rides in the car, as long as it’s not to the vet. I'm approximately 3-years-old, vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm a Treeing Walker Hound so I have a big voice and I’m not afraid to use it. Are you looking for a loving friend with energy? I'm your girl! Make sure you have plenty of stuffed toys for me to rip up because that’s my second favorite thing after riding in the car. If you would like to meet me and see if I’d be a good fit for your family, contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄Well, I'm not El Chapo but you can call me El Chaco. I am my brother's keeper (he’s pictured below). When our dad passed away, I knew that it would forever be my job to watch over my brother, Wolfie. Truth is, I get a little nervous when we are separated (let's keep that between us). Anyway, we have been with our foster mom for 2-years now and Wolfie and I just want to have a place of our own. I don’t really care much for other dogs besides my brother, but Wolfie would play with another dog. We are such good boys and we have a lot of love to give. We are vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We love being outside because we have such thick fur and we even like it when it’s cold outside. Wolfie and I would love to be a part of your family. If you’d like to meet us, please email our foster mom at roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

►What's up! My name is Wolfie (because I kinda look like one). My brother, Chaco, and I have been in rescue for almost 2-years. He’s pictured above. I love my foster mama but my brother and I would really like a yard to run around in and a couch to cuddle on. I love being outside and I love my sloth stuffed animal (I take it everywhere with me). We have a lot of fur because we are Husky/Shepherd/Lab mixes. My brother and I have to stay together because we are bonded and both depend on each other. We have never been separated and don't want to start now! We used to live with our dad but he passed away and someone took us to the shelter. We were so scared there. Our foster mom took us home and we are much happier now. We are both 5 to 6-years-old, vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We are so ready for a family of our own. Do you have enough love for us both? To meet us, contact our foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥
