This year I’m optimistically hoping for more treats than tricks! Hi friends, I’m a darling Beagle boy named Alvin. I am house-trained, a lover of food, I enjoy walks and wandering the back yard, and I get along with every person or dog I meet. I like my cuddles and enjoy being with people. I have a sweet disposition and, although there are no children in my foster home, I would probably love them, too. I’m about 9-years-old but boy, do I still have some energy! I have had to slow things down a bit because I am going through heartworm treatment, but that is going really well. I know it's hard for an older dog to get adopted, but I promise you I have more years left in me and am quite the spunky guy! Please consider giving me a chance by calling my friends with RescueConnect at 910-302-7290 I’d love to meet and show you why I’ll be your most treasured companion. Could I be your new Boo?

Thank you to Cathy from Wiggle Butts Photography for coming to my foster home to take spooktacular photos of me!

Hi there, I'm Jazmine, a spunky Shepherd mix girl with a heart of gold! At just 1-year of age and 43.8 pounds, I'm bursting with energy and ready for any adventure that comes my way. With my dazzling white fur and boundless enthusiasm, I'm hard to miss and even harder to forget. Whether it's chasing balls at the park or cuddling up for some snuggles, I'm always up for a good time. Unfortunately, I have these worms living in my heart so I will need to take it easy for a while, but I will be good as new after my heartworm treatments! Come on out to the shelter and meet me - I am ready for adoption and eager to make memories that will last a lifetime! Paws Place is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm and there is no appointment necessary. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with any questions.

Looking for a new fur-iend?

Look no further than me, Ryker! I’m a young German Shepherd boy who is friendly, playful and superaffectionate.

I’m a real people-pleaser and will do best in a home where I can get all the love and attention. I enjoy going on walks, playing with toys, and gnawing on bones. Since I’m a youngster, I’ll need basic training and I’ll also need a fenced yard for outside playtime. I am neutered, vaccinated and current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. I’m just an all-around great pup and would be a wonderful addition to your family. If you think you can give me a loving home, come meet me at the New Hanover Humane Society! Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm, and you can also call 910-763-6692 for more info. I’m sure to steal your heart.

I am sponsored by Jackie Houser of Flexner Houser Injury Law because she can’t adopt us all!

ADOPT: All of our cats are anxiously waiting to be adopted! Whether you want a mellow Lap Cat or a bundle of energy, we will help you choose the cat who is right for you!

CRAPPIE

My name is Crappie, just like the fish. I have had a crappy life, though, that is until I was saved from the torn down Atlantic Seafood place. Life was pretty rough but I have come a LONG way! I desperately need love. I am partially blind, but my heart is whole. I am a tiny girl and FURR has already paid for dental surgery for me. I had several teeth pulled and I feel so much better now. I LOVE treats and I do a silent meow when asking for them. I get along great with other cats, but sometimes they pick on me. If you want a kitty to care for who will return your love ten fold, please come and visit me. I'm hopeful someone will want me soon! Also, my smile looks like Grumpy Cat, which makes me even more adorable.

DONATE: Covering medical costs, pet supplies and food are every day expenses for FURR. We accept monetary and non-monetary donations which are tax-deductible to the extent of the law!

CONNOR

I’m an adorable guy who purrs when you just look at me. My name is Connor and I’m a cutie pie Tuxedo boy. Everyone here says that I’m just the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. I’m waiting to be swept off my paws and loved forever. I’m an absolutely PURRFECT kitten who you are guaranteed to fall in love with. Let’s enjoy life together.

VOLUNTEER: There are lots of ways to help our cause, from raising awareness about spaying/neutering, to helping with fundraisers or simply volunteering time to care for the kitties!

OSCAR & EMMY

We are Oscar and Emmy and we’d be honored to award your home with love and joy. We are so amazing, we’re really friendly and we’ve become Official Door Greeters here at FURR. We can provide you with tons of fun every day. We enjoy play time and with lots of room to run all over the house, we will entertain you. We are silly siblings who love life. At 1½-years of age, we will be the best kitties you've ever had for many years to come. We love new challenges, chasing toys, playing with kids and talking all about it. We are fully vetted, microchipped and ready to go. Why don't you come play with us and see what we have to offer. Check out videos of us at www.catfurr.org.

I’m Seahawk, a large neutered male kitty who is mostly white with some brown Tabby markings. I was found wandering around the UNCW campus (hence my name) and was turned in to Animal Services. No owner has come forward to claim me so I am now with Friends of Felines and available for adoption. I have lots of energy and get along well with other cats. I thrive on attention and love being in the company of people. My vibrant personality and affectionate nature make me a wonderful companion for any home. If you’re interested in meeting me, please apply at www.friendsofelines.org/adopt and click on the Adoption Application tab on the lower right corner. For info, you may contact Friends of Felines by emailing friendsofelines@aol.com or calling 910-232-7741.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Jane “Button” Honeycutt Spencer.

Hi there, I'm Charlotte, a beautiful Beagle mix girl! At 33 pounds, I'm the perfect size for snuggling up on your lap or going for leisurely walks around the neighborhood. And I may be 11-years-old, but age is just a number, right? I do have some special needs and a bit of neurological history, but don't let that discourage you. I'm a resilient pup with a lot of love to give. My human friends here at Paws Place can provide you with more information about my needs and how you can support me to live my best life. Despite my challenges, I'm a friendly and affectionate girl who adores attention. I'll wag my tail endlessly when you give me pets and scratches behind the ears. I get along well with both dogs and cats, so if you have other furry friends at home, I'm sure we'll get along just fine. I may be a bit older, but I still have plenty of love and joy to share with the right family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will appreciate your company as much as you appreciate theirs, then look no further! Paws Place is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm and no appointment is necessary. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with any questions.

I am sponsored by Greenwood Pet Camp in memory of Houdini.

THE UNFORGOTTEN SOULS

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT (CARE)

Hello! My name is Star and I am ready to be your BFF! I was hours away from being euthanized at an overcrowded shelter when The Unforgotten Souls rescue pulled me. Since then, I’ve been waiting to find my forever family. I would describe myself as a very good girlie. I’m low-maintenance, I love all the people and kids I’ve met, and I’m a bit of a snuggler (my foster mom says I’m a Grade A++ snuggler). Did you know dog cuddles have been scientifically proven to improve your health? You’ll most likely live to be 100 if you adopt me. For real! I may like to sneak in some occasional smoochies, too. You know, a little smoocharoo never hurt anyone. I’m a good girl though and if you don't enjoy the smoochies, you can tell me and I will listen. Oh, I walk well on a leash too, and I’m house-trained and crate-trained. In regards to my doggie friends, slow intros are a must for me. As long as I meet a nice compatible doggie and we take it slow (pack walkies, etc.), we can totally be friends. Currently I’m besties with one of my foster mom’s dogs and we play all the time. My foster mom can tell you more about it and how to set me up for success. Anyways, I’m looking forward to cuddlin… I mean, meeting you! To add me to your family, visit www.theunforgottensouls.com and click on ‘Adopt’ or you may send an email to theunforgottensouls@gmail.com for more info. To check out videos of me, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/unforgottensoulsrescue. ♥

Introducing the one and only Honey Buns! I am the bestest girlie and yes, I’m named after the sweet and sticky stuff that bees make. Not only do I have an absolutely sweet and delightful personality, I also love to be near my people. I absolutely adore everyone I meet, and especially love children.

I’m a beautiful Shepherd mix pup named Ariel! I came to CARE with an injury which left me with permanent coordination and balance challenges. I may fall down a little more or have a few more challenges getting up, but this does not stop me from playing and running with my puppy friends. While I try hard to be a good girl, my condition can result in an accident here and there but a good routine and lots of yard space could be a big help. I’m in need of a loving home, with a yard and hopefully other dogs or kids to play with! To meet me or learn more, call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. ♥

A SHELTER FRIEND

My friends call me Midnight and I’m a Labradorable mix. Know what my favorite thing is? Giving kisses to my person! Don’t you wish that was you? They say I am super sweet and I may be a little chunky. Whaaat?! But I love walks so I can go on walks with you to keep us both in shape. I am the perfect age at 6-years-old. That is old enough to know right from wrong but young enough to have fun together. In addition to walks, I love to play ball and squeaky toys are my favorite. Of course, I am spayed and vaccinated and on heartworm preventative so I am ready to move in. Like right now, today! Call/text Sean at 910-918-5118 or Silvia at 910-876-0539 with A Shelter Friend to learn more about me and how we can meet up. ♥

I’m currently being fostered with multiple children and I’m very loving and gentle with them. I’m a self-described delightful, potty-trained, leash-trained, crate-trained, chill, loveable, 3-year-old girlie who is 50 pounds of pure joy. I have the cutest ears and the most kissable face. If you’re looking for a perfect, happy, and easy-going girl, visit www.theunforgottensouls.com and click on ‘Adopt’ or email theunforgottensouls@gmail.com for more info. To check out videos of me and our other adoptable pets, please visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/unforgottensoulsrescue. ♥

Hi, I am Ellie, a happy 3-year-old Bulldog mix girl who adores ALL humans! I want nothing more than to please you and will return your attention with hugs and kisses. Besides humans, I love balls, so we will have loads of fun together. I am already vaccinated and spayed so I’m ready to move in. Please hurry and call Silvia at 910-876-0539 or text Sean at 910-918-5118 to learn how we can meet. ♥

If you would like more information or would like to adopt me, please call 910-271-5170 or send an email to hamiltonshealinghearts@gmail.com. ♥

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

Hi out there, my name is Roxanne and I’m one of the five doggies being trained in the Pender Prison through Monty’s Home. We are known as the Tail Waggin’ Tunes group. I’m only 6-months-old and they tell me I’m a Lab mix. When I graduate next month I’ll have all my basic obedience skills and will be ready for a home...maybe yours?

ONSLOW COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES

My name is Athena and I’m a 4-year-old, spayed female who is current on shots. My siblings and I came to CAPS after our family was faced with eviction. I’m a very laid-back and pleasingly plump little girl. I like to be petted, and I love to hang out with my family and siblings. I would do best in a quiet home without dogs and small children. For info, please email capsrescue@yahoo.com, call 910-455-9682, or visit www.capsrescue.com. ♥

My name is Penelope (ID 54121473) and I was adopted as a 2-month-old puppy (see my baby pic). Now it is 1-year and 43 pounds later, and I’ve been returned to the shelter because they don’t have enough time for me. I’m a sweet and playful girl who is well-trained. I will sit when it’s feeding time and not eat until you say ‘release’. I’m also cratetrained, house-trained, spayed and vaccinated. My favorite activities are playing fetch and tug, going for walks and enjoying adventures with you. Please know that I don’t have ill feelings about being at the shelter, but I am starting to get lonely. I have been waiting for over 70 days. Where are you? I have the biggest smile and as you can see, I like to sploot. I also enjoy romping around the yard with my friends and playing in the pool. If you commit to me, I’ll be your faithful friend. You can meet me anytime during shelter hours. No appointment needed! Just come on out Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 5pm or on Saturday from 10am to 3:30pm. You can also call 910-937-1164 or 910-455-0182 for more info. I'll be waiting! ♥

I’m a Survivor! My name is Rizbee and I was found emaciated and deserted on the roadside. Pender County Humane Society took me in, got me to a doctor, and now I’m at a healthy weight and feeling great! At 3-years of age, I’m an affectionate Pit Bull boy who loves to lay in laps and cuddle. I am neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative, and I completed a month-long training program that will help me thrive in my new home. Please come by to get acquainted and find out the skills I have obtained during my training. I’d love to meet you! I’m at Pender County Humane Society. I am sponsored in loving memory of Milo, Rocco and Don Johnson, who are loved and missed every day!!!

◄I love other dogs and people, so it would make me very happy to share my home with a doggie friend and someone like you! At just 2-years-old, I was found as a stray but no one can figure out how a gem like me is all alone in the world. I’m a very happy-go-lucky fellow who just LOVES my belly and chest rubs. My ID number is A491496. Visit and bring your dogs/kids with you! ♥

►If you’re looking for a fun girl to enjoy life with, come check me out! I’m a 2 to 3-year-old Pit Bull who loves belly rubs, big soft beds, tasty treats, all kinds of toys, and I’d be up for adventures as I’m active and playful. I’d like a home without cats, but you can bring any other dogs you have so that they can meet me. My ID number is A491499. Come on over! ♥

◄My name is Carmen (A428338) and I came to the shelter when my owner entered the hospital. Sadly, no one else could take me in, so here I am, ready and waiting for you! At 3-years-old, I’m an American Staffordshire Terrier girl who is happy all the time. I mean, my tail just doesn’t stop wagging! One unique thing about me is I wag my tail up and down, and then around like a helicopter. I absolutely love getting all of the attention and all the belly rubbings. I am just one big, beautiful goof ball and a fabulous find for any family. Come out to meet me and say hello, please! ♥

◄I’ve been at the shelter since May! I’m a fantastic girl who knows how to sit and lay down on command, I take food and treats gently, I play well at doggy daycare, I love belly rubs, I love to play fetch and I’ll give kisses! At just 2-years-old, I’m a sweet, happy-golucky Pit mix who loves being with people. My ID # is A487640 and I am spayed, vaccinated, and ready to go! ♥

◄I’m a friendly Pit mix girl who was found at a truck stop as a stray. No one came looking for me, though, so I’m hoping to soon be adopted into a new family! At 6-years of age, I love to play but I also enjoy relaxing and laying out in the sun. Toys are plentiful here, but I’d rather just hang out with the humans and get attention. My ID number is A490025 and I’d love to meet you, so bring your dogs and kids along when you come! ♥

◄Look at me sitting so nicely for my photo! At 3-years-old, I’m a Pit Bull girl with a very friendly and outgoing personality. I am always in a happy mood, and excited to see anyone who walks past my kennel. I love to play, so an active family would be perfect for me. I can go from having the “zoomies”, to taking a toy and rolling over in the grass, to looking at you and asking for belly rubs. I’m a pure delight! My ID number is A489956 and I’m already spayed and vaccinated. I’m a total sweetheart! ♥

◄Are you a Siamese cat lover? Well, come take a look at me! My name is Sagwa and I’m a 3-year-old girl who is looking for a forever home. I am a very sweet and loving kitty and I’d be happiest sharing a quiet house with someone who has no other pets. I’m good with kids, spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Visit me! ♥

◄I love to be held and loved, but look at me sitting all alone in my photo. I need you to pick me up and give me cuddles! My name is Olivia and I’m a 15 to 16-week-old kitten girl who is as sweet as they come. I play well with toys and other kittens and am up to date on my vaccines. I’ll be spayed before heading home with you, too. Come on over so I can melt your heart with my darling purrs! ♥

◄Get Your Lab Love Right Here! My name is Aster and I'm a 1-yearold Yellow Lab mix girl, as sweet as can be. I’m your typically happy pup, but I’m a survivor, too! Yep, I somehow ingested rat poison before coming to the shelter. Luckily, my new friends got me emergency care and I made a full recovery! Now I am just enjoying life and waiting for my new family to walk through the door. I love to play with other dogs and kids, I enjoy going for walks, and I have a lot of fun with toys. I am also spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Come see what a great girl I am! ♥

►It’s me, Nubby, and I’m ready to steal your heart away! I’m an adorable little boy, just 15 to 16-weeks-old, and I love everything and everybody. I am full of entertainment and will even sit on your shoulder! I love toys, playing with other kittens and cuddling with humans. I’m vaccinated and will be neutered before going home. Let’s meet! ♥

◄My name is Piper and I’m looking for a cat lover who understands that some kitties need a little more time to get comfortable. Are you that patient, kind person I’m looking for? I’ve been at the shelter for over a year and just want to be part of a loving, quiet household. At almost 2-years-old, I’m spayed, up to date on vaccinations and litterbox-trained. Won’t you give me a chance? Let’s meet soon. ♥

◄Hello out there! My name is Jewls and I’m a 5-month-old Pit mix puppy girl! I’m a very happy and sweet pup who loves being given attention. I’m good with kids, I’m good with other dogs and I’m up to date on puppy vaccines. I’ll be spayed prior to my adoption. My friends at the shelter think I’ll be a big girl when fully grown. If interested in me, drop by the shelter or go ahead and fill out an adoption application on the website at www.penderhumane.org. I’ll be so happy to grow up as a member of your household! ♥

WE’RE ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO REBUILD!

All donation checks must be written to Adopt-An-ANGEL or you can donate at www.adoptanangel.net (Put “Clinic” in the memo/comments). Mail checks to Adopt-An-ANGEL, P.O. Box 15095, Wilmington, NC 28408.

You can find me at New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. I am sponsored by Fuzzy Peach (Monkey Junction). ♥ Free pup cups to any pet that visits! ♥ Fuzzy Peach loves pets.

My name is Bumble Bee and FURR rescued me from a bad situation. My big, bright eyes look just like a bee and my colors do, too. I am no bigger than a football and I have quite a silly and sassy personality. After I get to know you, I will follow you around while meowing and sticking my tail straight up in the air. I'm 1 to 2-years-old, I’m spayed and vaccinated, and I love belly rubs. They tell me that I've probably had a litter of kittens in the past. I wonder what happened to them? All I need is a little patience and love to become your little friend. Please come visit me soon. I would probably prefer no dogs (they stink), loud children (they also smell), or other cats (they'll steal your attention) Just call me "Bee" for short. Stop on by our website at www.catfurr.org to see videos of me. For more information or if you would like to adopt me, please text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or send an email to adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

I am sponsored in memory of Fox and the family of feline rescues, well-loved.

◄I’m Blue Eyes, a 5-year-old gorgeous Tabby. Not only am I sweet and loving, but I get along with other cats and would be ok with dogs (with enough time and patience for introductions). I enjoy exploring my foster mom’s catio and laying in the warm sun while I look for birds and squirrels from a safe distance. I like batting around small toys and enjoy a good scratching post. I’m on a special diet to prevent crystals in my urine and I love dry, wet and my special treats! More than anything else, I want a person of my very own! ♥

◄My name is Joellie and I am a petite blind girl with a big personality! But I am very smart and learn my surroundings quickly. You will know when I want attention, which is often, because I will meow at you until I get it! I love being petted and don’t mind being held. Being blind doesn't cause me any issues using the litter box, and I get around the house well. On the rare occasion, I will get overstimulated, so a home with older children or no kids would be best for me. I get along well with other cats with time and proper introductions. I get along with calmer dogs, too. I have been patiently waiting to find a furever home for a long time. I do not attend adoption events, so please let us know if you’d like to meet. ♥

►My name is Darth Mittens and I am a fun-loving 10-year-old boy! Despite my name, I am the most affectionate cat that my foster mom has ever met. I want to be near my human all of the time, so I would need an attentive parent. Personal space does not exist for me. My best day is waking up next to your pillow, eating good food, laying on you all day, and purring into your face. I like to put my paws on your shoulder and stare lovingly into your eyes and slow blink. I like being held, and carried. My favorite toys are the plastic springs and small, soft balls. I would thrive in a busy home with many adults, kids, and other pets to give me attention. I love other cats, especially kittens. I haven’t met dogs, but I think I would get along well with them. I just want everyone to be my friend! Please reach out if you are interested in meeting me! ♥

◄I’m Luna Bell, a gorgeous, sweet, spunky and inquisitive 2-year-old lady. I thoroughly enjoy frolicking around the house with toys and exploring. I adore being petted and held, but I’m still learning how to be a lap cat as I prefer to lay near you on the couch! Struggling to survive, I was found outside in some bushes where I was trying to protect my newborn babies. My babies have all been adopted, but my instincts are still strong and because of this, I’m reactive around other animals. I need to be the only animal in the house. I don’t attend adoption events so if you’re interested in meeting me, please reach out to us. ♥

►My name is Nebraska and I am a stunning Calico beauty Queen. I’m around 13-years-old and I’m a very loving and sassy girl. I found my way into a scary shelter last year and was very lucky to make it out. I am a Lap Cat and a huge cuddle bug, and I love to sleep against my person's side. I love attention, but if you do something I don't like, I will let you know, so small children would not be a good fit. It will take a while to adjust to a new environment, so I am available as a foster-to-adopt, which will give us time to get to know each other. I tolerate other cats if they don't get in my space, but I would be great on my own. I am calm and quiet and would be a great companion for someone. I am current on vaccinations, spayed, and litterbox-trained. ♥

Adoption Fairs

EVERY Saturday from 11am - 3pm

►My name is Milk Dud and I am an energetic boy who’s super fun to play with. I love it when you drag a ball on a string or have a laser to chase. When I’m not playing, I love to cuddle with you or lay wherever you’re working or sitting. I may be a little shy at first, but will blossom into your best pal! I would prefer a home with no other cats. If you’re interested in adopting me, please reach out to set up an appointment as I do not attend adoption events. ♥

My name is Charlie. I am a teeny tiny female kitty who barely weighs 5 pounds soaking wet. I have had a traumatic kitten life and in a tragic turn of events, I saw my brother killed by a coyote. I somehow survived, but I need love and a quiet household so I can build up my confidence. You will not believe how GORGEOUS I am. I look like a little stuffed animal and I love to be held and brushed. I just need someone to dote over me and give me kitty treats. I’ve already been spayed, I’m current on vaccinations, I recently had a full dental, and I’m all set to move in with you. Stop on by our website at www.catfurr.org to see videos of me. To adopt me, text Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab at 864-483-2444 or send an email to adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

I am sponsored by Pawville. Thank you!

Calling All Boxer fans! My name is Piper and I’m a 5-year-old Boxer mix girl. I’m sad to say the reason I am looking for a home is because my beloved owner passed away. You can imagine how confused I am as I have been a treasured family member since I was a little puppy. I am house-trained, vaccinated, on heartworm prevention and I once lived happily with a cat. I’m friendly with children and my shelter friends were told I’m great with other dogs, too. I would be perfect for someone who is looking for a couch companion to snuggle with. Does that describe you? Come on over to Pender County Humane Society so we can meet, cuddle and get to know each other! For visiting hours or any other info, please call 910-259-7022.

I am sponsored by the Furry Friends Re-sale Shop in honor and memory of all the animals who've passed through the doors of Pender County Humane Society.

▲Hi, friends! I’m a pretty red-headed girl name Leia and I hope to soon find a new home and family to settle in with. I'm a friendly Beagle mix, around 5-years-old, and I’m the perfect little size, don’t you think? Currently I’m on heartworm treatment, so I’ll need to continue with that. I enjoy meeting new people, going for walks and getting cuddles. Won’t you please make plans to meet me soon? I’ll be ready and waiting to greet you! ♥

◄If you’ve been looking for a cat who could win the ‘World’s Biggest Snuggle Bug’ competition, I’m your boy! My name is Grayson and I’m a stunningly handsome fellow, just 6-months of age. I have that smokey-blue coat of fur that calls to mind the Russian Blue breed of cat. And my personality is as sweet as they come. Please hurry over to meet and snuggle with me, I’ll be waiting! ♥

◄Hi, everyone! I’m a 1-year-old mixed breed girl named Penny who is new to the shelter. It’s nice here, but I hope my stay is brief! They tell me I could not be any sweeter. I even love to lay my head in your lap! I walk well on a leash and have a friendly disposition. Please, won’t you come to the shelter and take me for a walk? We could be a match! ♥

◄Why am I at a shelter? I’ve always been a well-loved family cat and am sweet, snuggly and purry. I love attention and to be petted. My name is Sebastian and I even lived happily with a little pup! At 3-years-old, I’m simply a darling boy who lost my home through no fault of my own. Yes, I’m positive for FIV, but I can live a long, healthy life with the same good care you’d give any other cat. SOAR would be happy to tell you more - they say I’m the best kitty ever! ♥

SOAR is open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to Noon

Closed on Thursday and Sunday. If you have questions, please call 910-457-6340.

◄Hi there, I’m Belle! I’m a short-haired dilute Calico girl with the most gorgeous gold eyes. I am friendly and curious and I get along well with my feline roommates. At around 5-years-old, I am spayed, up to date on vaccines and litterboxtrained, of course. I'm ready for my dream to come true of a forever home and family! ♥

◄I’m Peanut, a sweet and loveable Boxer mix boy who lost my home when my owners moved away to care for aging parents. Circumstances sadly didn’t allow them to take me along. At 5-years of age, I get along well with other dogs (I lived with one) and I’m house-trained, neutered and up to date on vaccines. The joy I’ll bring to my new home is boundless, so please visit soon! ♥

Walk.

Hi, my name is Lady. I am 3-years-old, 50 pounds, spayed, vaccinated and good with other dogs. I enjoy hanging outside when it's not too hot and taking walks with people. As you can see, when it's time to relax, I love to snuggle. As you can also see, I enjoy playing with stuffed toys. I am housetrained and crate-trained but loud noises and too much ruckus makes me nervous. So, I would do best in a home with no young children. I need someone patient to work with me on leash-training since I love to chase critters on our walks. My perfect family will give me time to get used to my surroundings and will have patience with me as I

Hello there! I’m a gorgeous 10-month-old Lab/Hound mix boy named Arizona (AF3571)! My fur is a vibrant reddish-brown, similar to the red rocks out there in Sedona, Arizona. Perhaps that’s how I got my name! As you can tell by this friendly smile, I’m a happy and loving boy who just wants to be part of a family. I’ll bring lots of affection and fun to your household! I’m located at Brunswick Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services, and adoption hours are 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. My adoption fee includes a physical exam, a heartworm test, a rabies vaccination and my neuter surgery - such a great deal! If you have any questions, call my friends at 910-253-1738.

I am sponsored by Christy Lee. Thank you!

◄I’m Moose, a goofy Hound mix boy and I’m ready for my new life to begin! At 2-years-old and 46 pounds, I’m a petite pup and a perfect fit. Now, you may have noticed that I can see out of only one eye, well, that is true. However, it does not bother me, I am just as playful and loving as the rest of the doggie crew! I love snuggle sessions with humans and hugs are my favorite! Won’t you please come meet me? I’m a happygo-lucky boy looking to fill your home with lots of love! ♥

◄Hi! I’m Aqua, a Shepherd mix puppy girl, just 8-monthsold. My name fits me to a ‘T’ because I love water and I really love playing in the pool! I bet I’d enjoy the ocean, too, once I’m adopted. I have one blue eye and one brown eye and I’m so very beautiful. My sister Darya is here with me and she’s also up for adoption. We are both very curious, playful and sweet pups who are ready to find our forever homes. Please make a plan to meet us! ♥

◄I’m Frisbee, the park-loving Hound with a zest for adventure! At 4-years-old and 38 pounds, I’m a tri-color boy who is the perfect friend for outdoor fun. I live for romps in the grass, chasing butterflies, and, of course, playing with my namesake toy. My playful energy and contagious enthusiasm will turn every stroll in the park into an unforgettable adventure. If you're seeking a furry friend to join you on sunny picnics and leaf-strewn trails, look no further than me - I’m ready to be your loyal sidekick! ♥

◄Hi, I’m an American Bulldog named Daisy! Like the flower, I’m as sweet as can be! At 3-years-old, I’m a young girl who is ready to find a family to spoil with the most slobbery kisses! I know a lot of cool party tricks like sit, shake and down. I still have my tail and boy, do I like to wag it! I’m a master at the ‘Puppy Dog Eyes’ and am the best passenger princess! I’ll be so happy to meet you! ♥

◄Hey there, I'm Bokhee! I may be a 60-pound Pit mix girl, but don't let my size fool you - I'm just a big ol' lovebug at heart. Sure, I'm going through heartworm treatment right now, but that doesn't stop me from wagging my tail and giving sloppy kisses to everyone I meet! At 3-years-old, I know how to sit like a pro, especially when there are treats involved (yum!). Life may throw some curveballs, but I’m wagging my tail through it all, knowing that soon enough, I'll be good as new and ready to spread even more love to my forever family. Please come and meet me today! ♥

◄Hello, my name is Trip! I’m a very sweet Hound boy who has had a rought start in life, as I have had to learn to navigate through the world with only three legs. That’s right, I’m a tri-pawd! I am missing my right front leg, but do not worry because I do not let it slow me down! I may have had a bit of bad luck, but you’ll find I’m ready to start over and show the world just how strong I am! Please come visit me soon. I’d love to show you what a sweetheart I am! ♥

◄▼We are Chloe and Minerva, two young sisters. We each had kittens just a couple of weeks apart and each of us was fostered with our kittens in a separate home. Once our kittens got adopted, we were reunited. It’s our hope that we are never separated ever again. We just turned 2-years-old and are fast friends: we play together and snuggle together and love life together. Our personalities are very similar as we are both goodnatured, laid-back and we love attention. And like all the cats on this page, we are fixed, up to date on vaccines and litterboxtrained. If a bonded pair of kitties is in your future, come meet us! To set up a meet and greet, please call or text our pals from Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755. ♥ Minerva

◄I’m a fluffy boy named Sylvester and if I don’t melt your heart, I don’t know what will!

At 4½-months of age, I’m a black and white medium-haired tuxedo kitten.

I am a sweet, friendly boy who gets along with everybodypeople, cats and dogs. I love to play with other kittens and adult cats as well. The only thing that’s missing in my life is my very own forever home! Please call or text my pals at 910-599-2755 so you can meet me in and fall in love! ♥

◄Hi there, I’m lovely Lydia, the softest 4-month-old silver/ gray sweetheart. I was rescued with my sister Lacy (who is also pictured on this page). I’m laid-back and gentle and love to be held and cradled. After a good nap I’m ready to rumble with my brother Liam, who is also up for adoption. We kittens are happiest in pairs where we learn together, keep each other company and out of trouble. Lacy and I are bonded and would make an excellent pair! To meet us, call 910-599-2755 and let’s arrange a get-together! ♥

◄I’m beautiful Lacy, a medium-haired silver/ gray/blue 4-month-old kitten. Like my sister Lydia (also featured on this page), I’m a gentle and laid-back girl with a spunky personality. My favorite pastime is snuggling up for a nap and my second favorite pastime is chasing my sister up and down the cat tree. I love chasing my fluffy tail, too! I am bonded with my sister Lydia and it’s believed that together we’ll grow up to be the most gorgeous cats. To meet us, please call or text 910-599-2755 and let’s set a day and time to meet! ♥

▲We are Star (a girl) and Ember (a boy) and we are two brown/chocolate Tabbies who are sister and brother. We are lively, playful kittens who love to roughhouse with each other. During quiet times, we’d prefer snuggling next to you and we would love to sleep with you! We are bonded and we would be the happiest pair if adopted together. After all, kittens are much more socially adjusted and tend to stay out of trouble when they have each other. So what do you say? Please call or text 910-599-2755 and let’s arrange a visit. You’ll quickly see how adorable we are! ♥

My name is Peach (AF3992)! At 10-months-old, I’m a Lab/Hound mix girl who’s as sweet as they come. I’d love to be your newest family member and have all kind of adventures! Visit me at Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services, and call 910-253-1738 with any questions.

My name is Nicky (AF1800)!

I’m a 1-year-old Pit/ Husky mix girl who is gorgeous. Just check out my iceblue eyes! My coat is brindle and my personality is friendly and playful. Meet me at Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services, and call 910-253-1738 with any questions.

My name is Mandy I'm 1-year-old, and I’m spayed, dewormed and have been treated for fleas. I am a dainty, orange female which is a RARE FIND! Did you know that most orange cats are boys? I was transferred from Brunswick County Animal Services along with my 3 brothers and they've been adopted. Now, it's my turn to find my loving furever home. I'm definitely what you'd call a "Cat's Cat". I will thrive with a companion cat (male or female). I'm submissive and will not have any behavior issues. My foster home has a submissive adult male and female and I play with both of them. So if you're looking for a companion for your cat - I'm that cat! I'm friendly, loving and affectionate and very playful at times. I might be a little shy and timid at first, but as soon as I trust you, I will make a great addition to just about any home. I have never been around children or dogs, so that's unknown. If you are interested in adopting me, text Melinda with Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-471-6909. For info, updates and upcoming adoption events, please visit us online at www.facebook.com/adoptanangelnc.

I am sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies and daddies who care for homeless animals.

Hi! I’m Smuckers but you can call me Smuck, or Jam, or whatever floats your boat! I am a big, loveable goofball boy, and I just had my last heartworm treatment! Boy, am I ready to run and play like a normal dog again! Do you like to play? I hope so. I also love to snuggle! They say I am 50 pounds of love bug! Right now, I have to take it easy, so walks on the beach or laid-back movie nights can be our jam! Get it? Jam...like Smuckers. Come meet me! Paws Place is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm and no appointment is necessary. Please call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with any questions.

I am sponsored by Cindy Meyers in loving memory of Harley, Murphy and Sophie.

▲►We’re Gunny, Gibbs and Panda and we were abandoned at just 1-week-old. We went without food for almost a whole day and you know us little guys need to eat. We were so young and scared of this really big world but some really nice ladies came and got us. I think they are called rescues and boy did they save us! A homeless doggy mom, who had just finished raising her kids, accepted us as her own and nursed us! We are now 3-months-old, current on age appropriate shots and eating all by ourselves. We’ll be neutered and microchipped. No one really knows what kind of puppies we are but we're super cute! Everyone tells us that so we know it's true. ♥

◄My name is Ink but I like Drako better. I'm only about 1-year-old and already have had some disappointments in life. First, I was picked up as a stray and my people didn't come get me. The shelter made me very nervous and sad, but I got adopted! I was sooooo happy to have my very own family again. But then, I guess I liked to wiggle butt too much and play with their little human, so they brought me back. I was a really good boy, but just a little too much for their little one and kept knocking her over. I didn't mean to - I was just playing. So I was back to not having a family again. No other adopters were interested in me and I ran out of time. Even though I didn't do anything bad, there just wasn't anymore space. Luckily, FBAR sprung me out! They brought me to a cool foster home and I’m just lovin' life. I do like to play hard but I also like to nap hard. Pretty good balance, I think. My doggy doctor said I was good to go. I have no wormy things in my heart, got a little chippy thing, got neutered and got all my shots. So now, I'm just waiting for my forever people. I love to do zoomies so a fence would be super cool. I am still learning my manners but I REALLY want to be a good boy so I will try very hard. I wouldn't mind a furry sister but I'm cool if I'm the only pup in the house. I don't like those meowing things (I think you call them cats), so that wouldn't be a lot of fun for anyone. ♥

►My name's Tinkerbell and I sure do like that name! I was so scared in a loud municipal shelter that I was frozen. I didn't want to move and just wanted to disappear. Some really cool people came and took me into their foster program. With the help of my foster mom and my foster siblings, I'm learning how to be a puppy. Since I had been living out on my own without much luck finding food, I'm kinda thin. Now I get all the food I want and it’s great. I’m not sure what the big deal is but everyone keeps telling me how much they love my eyeliner. I'm about 4-months-old and I’m a Hound mix who is already spayed and microchipped. My doggy doctor said I was all good and that I just need a few more vaccinations to be ready to go! I would love to find my own forever family who will love me for who I am - a sweet, kinda shy gal. It would be cool to have sticks outside my new home; I think it's called a fence, so I can run around. I would be cool with a furry sister or brother, but I would be ok by myself as long as you love me! So, that's me...gotta go now, my foster mom gave me something that squeaks and I'm trying to figure out what it is. Thanks for reading about me. ♥

►Hi, my name is Wallen and I am still waiting for my furever home and I don't know why? Doesn't anyone want to give me a chance? I promise to love you! You see, I came from a not-so-good situation and that makes me sad but I LOVE my foster parents and siblings. I know I am a bully breed but I am no bully! Once I trust you, I will love you forever. And honestly, just a few treats and I'm yours! I am learning manners with a really cool guy named Jeff. He says I am a good boy. My doggie doctor said I am healthy and have no little wormy things in my heart. I'm neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention. Sometimes I get itchy skin, but my foster family gives me some medicine so it gets all better really quick. Well, enough about meWhat ya think? Maybe you want to meet me? I hope so. ♥

◄My name is Tyson because my foster mom says I was a fighter and a champ. You see, I was itchy, had no hair and something called Demadex Mange. After some vet care, medicine, TLC, good food and cool baths, I’m feeling and looking so much better. All of my hair is almost back and I hardly itch at all. I’m only 6-months-old and I love playing with my foster siblings. I love my foster humans and they all tell me I am such a good boy. It's not hard to be good now that I feel great. I love my foster family but it's time that I find my very own family. Could that be you? I love to play so I’d love having a furry sister and fenced yard, so we can run and play. I'm a pretty mellow guy so maybe you'll give me a chance? ♥

◄My name is Gypsy because I was found as a stray along with my pups. I am about 2-years-old and a really good Mama. I cared for my babies in a foster home and went to the doggy doctor where I got a clean bill of health. I finally got them to eat on their own, but then four more orphaned babies came in who needed me, so I helped them, too. Now they are all doing well and my work as a mother is done. It's time for some "me" time and my very own family. I like to hang out with my other dogs but I would be ok by myself, too. I'm not a big gal and wouldn't take up too much space. I am heartworm negative, spayed and vaccinated and ready to be your girl. ♥

►My name is Taz! I'm about 1-year-old and my people told me I am a Shepherd mix. My foster parents say I'm a good boy. I love my furry foster brother and sister and I love getting attention. I sure would like a fenced backyard where I could do my zoomies. I wouldn't mind a furry doggy sister but I would be ok by myself if you like to take me on adventures. I'm learning all kinds of manners and hope you will continue teaching me. It's not my fault that no one trained me but I'm a quick learner and really want to make you happy! Please contact my friends and let them know you want to meet me. I sure want to meet you. I'll have all my doggy shots, and I don't have any wormy things in my heart. ♥

◄My name's Lassy! I'm not a Collie, but I sure am just as beautiful right? I'm about 6-years-old and was a stray at a municipal shelter. I heard them say I have some "medical" problems and that only a rescue could get me. I was sure hoping that a rescue was going to come get me and they did! I have something called mammary tumors but I am going to have surgery to get all of them removed. I'm kinda scared about surgery but my peeps keep telling me not to worry. I also have heartworms but those will be taken care of, too. So that means, I'm going to be just fine. Geesh, kinda a lot of things for a "spring chicken" like me but my foster mom is taking such good care of me. I love people and other furry doggy friends. They say I’m a Beagle mix. I don’t know what that is, but all I know is that I’m beautiful! I will be available for foster-to-adopt following my surgery and results. Please keep your paws crossed that all is well with the tissue reports. ♥

►I am Daisy and I was surrendered to the shelter because I was pregnant. I wasn’t a first time mom but thankfully, this was my last time. I went to a super cool foster family so they could provide maternity care until I was ready to have my babies. And boy, what a good thing because I had them the very next day! I'm a very good Mama even though I'm young (not even 2-years-old). I like my furry foster siblings even though I have my babies. I know no one is going to hurt them. When I am all done with taking care of them, which I really hope is sooner than later, it will be my turn to get all my doggy shots and spayed. Then I’ll be ready for a forever home all my own. I know my babies will get great homes, too! Aren’t they cute? They told me I'm a Chiweenie and it's time for me to enjoy life. If you want to learn more about me, just contact my peeps. Here's my family: Marshmallow, Blondie, and Emmie. I love them so much and hope you will, too. ♥

Hi, I’m Arthur (AF3177), a 1-year-old Pit mix boy with smarts, good looks, and lots of friends here in the doggie dorm at the shelter. They will be happy to tell you all about me if you stop in to meet me and all of my canine buddies. I’m located at Brunswick Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services, and adoption hours are 10am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. Take me in the play yard when you get here so we can spend some quality time together. If you have any questions, please call 910-253-1738. I’ll be looking forward to the day you arrive!

I am sponsored by Adam's Folly Pet Boarding, Bolivia, NC. Thank you!

Meow! My name is Garfield but unlike my large namesake, I am slender and strong. My pretty Orange Tabby coat has cinnamon bun swirls! I am about 8-years-old and love people. I was found living in a parking lot, and was brought to the sanctuary by my rescuer. I sure would love to have my own home where I can have my own people! I am fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, litterbox-trained and negative for FeLV and FIV. Won't you please come meet me and maybe take me home? I’m at The Ruffian Foundation so I hope you’ll call Sharon or Barb at 910-262-8890 or 910-619-7198 so that we can set up a day and time to meet.

I am sponsored by Tony and Peggy Durso. Thank you!

◄Silver Tabby, anyone? My name is Yara and I’m a beautiful girl who is affectionate and friendly and ready to be yours! I love receiving attention from my human friends and I’m good with cats, too. I am spayed, litterbox-trained, up to date on my vaccines and on flea prevention. You’re going to fall in love with me! ♥

◄Hi, I’m Milo, a friendly American Bulldog mix with a big heart and lots of love to give. I’m about 8-years-old and could benefit from a little basic training, but I will make such a great addition to your family! I love to play and I love being with people. I’m also neutered, up to date on vaccines and current on flea and heartowrm prevention. Let’s meet at the shelter soon! ♥

◄Hi there, I’m Momo, a really amazing yet goofy boy here with everyone. I’m not really food motivated but seek attention more than anything. I am a “leaner”, especially when I’m getting my shoulder, back and chest rubs. I’m an all-around happy boy who would just love to be the center of your world. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and current on flea and heartworm prevention. I hope you’ll make a plan to come visit me at the shelter. I’d love to show you why I’ll be the best companion you’ve ever had! ♥

►Hi, I’m Otis, a handsome 8-year-old gentleman. I’m a very loving boy and I just want someone to love and pet me. I have a gentle, laid-back personality and am ready to slide on into your house with ease. All I want in this world is a home of my own. I am neutered, vaccinated, current on flea prevention, litterbox-trained and microchipped. There’s no doubt you’ll adore me! ♥

◄I’m an 11-month-old Black Lab mix pup named Hotch! I’m a happy boy who is playful and engaged with people. I’m eager to please and would probably love a basic training class. It would also be a great bonding experience for me and the family, too! I’m full of playful energy and I need someone who understands me and will give me all the love and exercise I need. I’m fully vetted and ready to be your best friend! ♥

The shelter is currently open Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

If you have questions, please call 910-763-6692.

◄I’m a gorgeous Tortie girl named Charlie and I’m looking for a home to live out my golden years. At 11-years of age, I am very gentle and sweet and just want a lap to lay in. Yes, I’m more of a lap cat so if you or someone you know has an empty lap, come meet me! I’m spayed, vaccinated, litterbox-trained and on flea prevention. See you soon, ok? ♥

Hi! I’m a Boxer mix puppy girl named Starburst! My siblings and I came to the shelter looking for our forever families! Some of them have been adopted, but my sister Skittles and I are still patiently waiting for the right families to come along. I am 21-weeks-old and a bit shy at first, but I promise I’m working on that! The humans say we are growing like weeds and getting cuter by the day. I am looking for a family who likes to snuggle, because snuggling is one of my favorite things. If you like to curl up and cuddle on the couch, I am your girl! Please come meet me soon at Paws Place. No appointment is necessary, and visiting hours are on Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 2pm. You can also call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org for info.

I am sponsored by The Tree House Gang at Saltscapes Landscaping. Thank you!

◄I am a victim! I know, everybody is a victim today, but it’s really true for me. I’m Koda, a long-haired, black and white 4-month-old girl. I am really, really cute and that’s not my fault! But, people see me and they say, “I have to have that kitten!” so they adopt me without thinking. Then it doesn’t work out and I have to come back. I was adopted twice last weekend and now I’m back at my foster home. I hope that I’ll find an adopter who will keep me forever! ♥

▲We aren’t siblings. In fact, we aren’t related at all. We’ve just been together long enough that we’re bonded like brother and sister. Our family came apart because of a divorce. We have been through a lot before we ended up back at Cat Tails, right where we started! We are still together, and we hope it stays that way. I’m Gavin, a 4-year-old gray cat and my sister, Mollie, is an 8-year-old orange and white cat. ♥

►Hello friends! I am Deuce, a 7-month-old, black and white kitten and I need a special home. I have a mild case of Pica, a tendency to consume non-food objects. I need a family who will keep loose fabric, feathers, rubber and small objects away from me so I don’t eat them. I don’t display any of the fearful or aggressive behaviors that some Pica cats do. In fact, I am a very large, sweet, friendly boy. Could you give me a chance? ♥

►Both of the people who took care of me had health problems and, as hard as they tried, and as much as they loved me, I was a mess. My fur was matted, I had sores all over me and I weighed over 20 pounds! So, I came back to Cat Tails. Now, I have been groomed and I feel so much better. I’m eating a healthier diet and losing a little weight, too. I will be a fantastic family pet! I’m a 3-year-old buff-colored, medium-haired boy name Willie and I’m very handsome! ♥

►I was wandering the streets when someone picked me up and brought me to Cat Tails. I’m Sampson, a 3-year-old, seal-point Siamese mix boy. I do have one bad habit –sometimes I run through doors when you open them. It’s probably how I got lost in the first place. And then, nobody wanted to adopt me because I needed dental work, but now that’s all done. All you need to do is adopt me and you will have a wonderful new member of the family! ♥

◄I’m Molly and I need a home. My brother was adopted recently and I’m really lonely. I miss having him to play with but I miss having a family even more. I want someone to scratch under my chin and brush me and bring me some yummy food every day. I want a warm lap to lay on while someone talks to me and windows that I can see out of to watch the leaves and birds moving. I’m a 6-month-old Calico Tabby girl. I’m as sweet and friendly and as pretty as any cat you’ll ever meet. ♥

◄My name is Bang! I am a 2-year-old kitty who was found on the 4th of July weekend (hence my name, Bang). I am a sweet, outgoing guy. I was trapped outside of a spay/neuter clinic. They were looking for another cat who’d gotten out of his carrier at drop off but they got me instead. Since I was such a nice cat, the clinic neutered me and fostered me and has tried to find me a good home. Since I lived on the streets for some time, they do not recommend me in a home with other cats or small kids just yet. I was adopted for a very short time and did not do well with the resident cat. My rescuers believe that I will be a wonderful companion to someone who will be patient with me as I adjust to indoor life. I will BLOSSOM into the great pet I am meant to be. It takes up to 3-months for a newly adopted pet to adjust to a new home. Please be patient with me since I have been tossed around a good bit over the last few weeks and I surely deserve better. ♥

◄Hello, my name is Huck and I’m an orange and white gentleman. At first, I can be kinda shy but once we get to know each other, I am a love bug. I love playing with my toys and exploring. I am current on all of my vaccinations and I’ve already been neutered. I really love playing with my brother, Finn. We can be adopted together or you can adopt just one of us. If you are interested in adopting, please send a text to Tie at 910-632-4386. ♥

►Hi, my name is Finn. I can be a little shy but once you give me some chin scratches, I open right up. I am current on all of my vaccinations and I’ve already been neutered. I love playing and exploring with my brother, Huck. He’s pictured above me. We can be adopted together or you can adopt just one of us. If you are interested in adopting, please send a text to Tie at 910-632-4386. ♥

►My name is Daisy and I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. I am less than a year old. I am a sweet and loving girl who is good with kids and other cats. I have been homeless all summer as I competed with all the cute, tiny kittens. Will you give me a second look? I am only a few months older than a kitten and I have a lot to offer. I am quiet, reserved and less demanding. I welcome a tender touch and will warm up quickly if you just give me a chance. Meet me at PetSense in Leland or call Sherry at 910-523-1254. ♥

►My name is Milo and I am a 6-year-old Shepherd mix who weighs about 50 pounds. I am still a pretty jolly guy and can be playful. I am good with dogs and cats, but need to be with teenage children or older. I need a fenced in yard and would love to find someone who knows my breed. I am house-trained, neutered, vaccinated and really loveable. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783 if you’d like to meet me. ♥

◄My name is Vader. Aren't I just darling? I am a pretty, tortiseshell teenaged kitten at just 4-months of age. It is hard to believe I am getting overlooked and growing up in the cages of a pet store. I am sweet, friendly and do well with cats and dogs - probably kids, too. If you would like to meet me, please come see me at PetSense in Leland (where I’m currently living) or call Sherry at 910-523-1254. ♥

Have you ever seen a curly-haired orange cat? My name is Shirley Temple and I am a sassy and classy girl who is very good about making her opinion known. I am a quite vocal, 2-year-old princess. I always want to be around my people - getting attention and getting cuddles and pets. I like to sleep right night to you, and my purr can be heard from across the house. I’m playful and will be a great constant companion for someone. I’m a diva, but I also do very well with other cats and would make a great companion for another cat. I am FIV positive, but I can live with non FIV cats. I have a normal life expectancy, and I have no special needs or health issues. To meet me in my foster home, please contact All 4 Cats by calling or texting 910-707-4372 or emailing info@all4cats.org.

I am sponsored with fond memories of Calvin - such a fun-loving and loyal cat. Play on, Buddy!

I’m a very pretty Calico girl, just 1-year-old and as sweet as can be. I’m known as Mama Kitty due to my former life as a teenage mom. Thankfully, those days are behind me as I’m now spayed and ready to be the baby of your family! I’m a very friendly girl with a low-key attitude and I love getting attention from humans. I would love a home where I can sit in your lap or by your side and get lots of snuggles. I am also vaccinated and litterbox-trained. The only thing I’m missing from my life is a family. Won’t you come and meet me at Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue (SOAR)? Adoption hours are from 8am to Noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (closed on Thursday and Sunday). If you have any questions, call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

At just 4-months of age, I’m a very sweet puppy girl who lost my first home because my owner didn’t have landlord approval. Here’s hoping things work out well for me in my next home! I am already spayed and vaccinated and my ID number is A491725. Have you been looking for a puppy to love and cuddle and give a great life to? Maybe I’m your match! Come meet me at the New Hanover Sheriff's Office Animal Services Unit in Wilmington. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 11am to 3:30pm and on Saturday from 8am to 11:30am. For more information, call 910-798-7500. If you have another dog or kids at home, please bring them with you so we can have a play date and see how we get along!

I am sponsored by the Hufstedler family in loving memory of their past loved fur babies: Ella, Rex, Misty, Buddy, Dottie and Houston.

Thundering Paws Pet Adoption

►My name is Dove and I’m a beautiful 3-year-old, long-haired, gray Tabby with some beige on my chest. I received complete vet care and a blood analysis and I’m in great health. I am negative for FeLV/FIV, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. I love to be petted on my head and under my chin. My name is Dove because I love to ‘coo’ and talk to you. I was bullied by outdoor cats and prefer a peaceful adult-only home without other felines. Please be patient with me until we know each other. I was declawed and let outdoors where I had many scary experiences. I wish to find a loving home to give and receive lots of love. ♥

◄Look how cute I am hanging out on my cat tree. My name is Gulliver and I’m an affectionate and playful boy who does great with other cats and friendly dogs. I like to cuddle and would be a very good emotional support cat. I’m 10½-months-old, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, negative for FeLV/FIV and on flea prevention. I’m calm, friendly and love to be with you. I hope you will adopt me and give me the forever home I deserve. ♥

►I’m Gardy Gardenia and I’m a fun-loving short-haired kitten. I’m a handsome boy who was born in April 2024. I’m neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, dewormed and on flea protection. I love to play with cat wands and chase stuffed mice all around the house. I’m good with dogs, cats and children of all ages. I enjoy watching tv with people and climbing cat trees. What do you think about living this life together? ♥

►My name is Precious! I’m a 1½-year-old, medium-haired affectionate Calico who loves to make biscuits and make you feel cherished. I like to follow you around and give you head rubs and kisses. I am spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and enjoy being held. Even though I’m tiny at just 6 pounds, I’m a confident kitty who will bring my forever family lots of love. Could I be your faithful companion? ♥

▲Hi, I’m Vinny (pictured on the left) and this is my sister, Sylvia (pictured on floral carpet). We are 5½-month-old Tabby siblings. I’m extremely affectionate and love to be with humans. I’m not shy at all and even the vacuum cleaner doesn’t spook me! Sylvia is also very friendly and playful. She loves a good laser pointer play session. She can be shy at first but warms up with time. She’d love to have a kitty buddy if adopted separately from me. We both get along with kittens and adult cats! We are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, negative for FeLV/FIV and on flea prevention. Please contact Thundering Paws to meet or adopt us. ♥

►Hi, I’m 4-months-old and my name is Oreo! I love to be petted and purr nonstop. I’m also very good with other cats. I went to the vet and tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and was dewormed, neutered and vaccinated. I love to play, I’m very friendly and I’m litterbox-trained! I was rescued from under a shed at Lowe’s and hope to find a loving family soon. ♥

Hi, my name is Anna (Ah-Nuh...like from the movie Frozen). I am a 3-year-old Pit mix girl who LOVES people, ignores cats, and will require a proper introduction to new dogs. I really enjoy running and playing in a fenced yard and would love to be part of an active family. I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to play in your backyard. I can not wait to be in my forever home! Please reach out if you are interested in adopting me by calling CARE at 910-256-2624 or emailing carewilmington@yahoo.com.

I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE).

I’m beautiful Bobsie, a rare orange Tabby girl who has had a rough start in life. I gave birth to a litter of kittens under a trailer and had few food sources until my kittens and I were rescued. I was a devoted mama and now that all my kittens have been adopted, I am ready for my own forever home! I’m a very sweet 3-year-old girl and I love to sit next to you and be petted. And, yes, I was a dignified mama, but I really love to play like a kitten myself! For info, call or text Cat Adoption Team at 910-599-2755, email catilm@earthlink.net or message my friends on Facebook @CatAdoptionTeamNC.

I am sponsored by Danny and Lisa Merritt in memory of all their fur babies waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

◄Hi, it’s me, Luci (AF3932), and I’m a 12-week-old Pit mix girl who will have you saying “I Love Luci” mere moments after we meet. I’m sweet and smart and I can’t wait to have my very own family to love me and teach me how to be a good canine citizen. I’m well on my way to a lovely life...all I need is you! Please visit soon. ♥

◄Hi there, my name is Bella (AF3851)! I’m a baby Great Dane type of girl, only about 5-months-old and still growing! If you love the big dogs and want your very own pony-size pup, stop on by to meet me. My brother Rocky is also pictured on this page and he’s just as sweet and loving as me. Please hurry over and get to know us - we’re simply great! ♥

►Could this photo of me be any more beautiful and dreamy? I hope it gives you a glimpse of how lovely I’ll be in your home! My name is Miso (AF3559) and I’m a 1-yearold tuxedo girl who is already spayed. I’m quite petite at 6 pounds and I have the most friendly disposition. Please make plans to visit me at the shelter - I’ll be your very best friend! ♥

◄Hello there, I’m a darling puppy boy named Rocky (AF3852). You might have already met my sis Bella, pictured above. Like her, I’m a Great Dane mix puppy. I’m going to be big and I’m only a baby now at about 5-months of age, so be sure your house and your life can accommodate my size! I’d love to meet you so hurry on over today! ♥

◄If you’re looking for a friendly Calico girl to adopt, I do believe I’m the one! My name is Molly (AF3580) and I’m searching for a friendly family, too, one that will love me forever and give me lots of kindness and pets. I’m a youngster at 4-years-old and already spayed. Let’s get to know each other soon! ♥

Are you looking for a new best friend? My name is Avee and I am ready to be yours! I'm an approximately 3-year-old, 55 pound German Shepherd mix. I put my heart into everything that I do. I have a lower energy level, and honestly just enjoy spending time with my person. I'm a great companion, if I do say so myself. Whether you want to relax in bed, watch TV, or go on a walk; I am down for whatever, as long as my human is involved! Because I love my people so much, a fence is recommended but not required. I am house-trained and know to go to the back door when I need to potty. I do great in a crate but can be trusted to free-roam in the house as I am not destructive. I do well with other dogs, but need slower and proper introductions, when going into a new home. Patience and decompression is important for me when meeting other dogs. I did well on my cat test at the shelter but I do not currently live with a cat. I am also obedience-trained and very eager to please. I love stuffed animals and welcome all the belly rubs. My foster home is located near Wilmington. If I could be a member of your family, complete an application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org and an adoption coordinator will be assigned to you. Please call Freedom German Shepherd Rescue at 919-670-5905 or email info@freedomgsrescue.org for additional info.

I am sponsored by Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar in Carolina Beach and in loving memory of Bess and beach dogs everywhere.

◄Well, I'm not El Chapo but you can call me El Chaco. I am my brother's keeper (he’s pictured below). When our dad passed away, I knew that it would forever be my job to watch over my brother, Wolfie. Truth is, I get a little nervous when we are separated (let's keep that between us). Anyway, we have been with our foster mom for 2-years now and Wolfie and I just want to have a place of our own. I don’t really care much for other dogs besides my brother, but Wolfie would play with another dog. We are such good boys and we have a lot of love to give. We are vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We love being outside because we have such thick fur and we even like it when it’s cold outside. Wolfie and I would love to be a part of your family. If you’d like to meet us, please email our foster mom at roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

◄BOOP, my name is Hope! I am a sweet, rambunctious girl who loves treats and toys and I love to give hugs. A nice couple found me on the side of the road and helped me get healthy. My foster mom has had me for almost a year. I love her for taking such good care of me, but I'm really looking for someone who can play with me and maybe even take me places. I love to go for rides in the car, as long as it’s not to the vet. I'm

approximately 3-years-old, vaccinated, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I'm a Treeing Walker Hound so I have a big voice and I’m not afraid to use it. Are you looking for a loving friend with energy? I'm your girl! Make sure you have plenty of stuffed toys for me to rip up because that’s my second favorite thing after riding in the car. If you would like to meet me and see if I’d be a good fit for your family, contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

►What's up! My name is Wolfie (because I kinda look like one). My brother, Chaco, and I have been in rescue for almost 2-years. He’s pictured above. I love my foster mama but my brother and I would really like a yard to run around in and a couch to cuddle on. I love being outside and I love my sloth stuffed animal (I take it everywhere with me). We have a lot of fur because we are Husky/Shepherd/Lab mixes. My brother and I have to stay together because we are bonded and both depend on each other. We have never been separated and don't want to start now! We used to live with our dad but he passed away and someone took us to the shelter. We were so scared there. Our foster mom took us home and we are much happier now. We are both 5 to 6-years-old, vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. We are so ready for a family of our own. Do you have enough love for us both? To meet us, contact our foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥

►I'm going to start off saying - my name is Grace and I have a problem. The problem is that I am not allowed to live in a lot of places. Why? Because I am so majestic! Seriously, I am a Malamute/ Husky/Grey Wolf mix. I need a place that I can hang out and not get in trouble for being there. My foster mom and I have a great relationship. I'm a real sweetie and I love kids. I am current on my vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. I've been in rescue going on 3-years! Don’t get me wrong, I love my foster mama so much but I need to have a family of my own. I prefer a home with kids because I love when they lay down with me on the floor and watch TV. I don't care to hang out with other dogs and I certainly don't like cats. But, if you really want me to ‘grace’ you with my presence (see what I did there), we need to make sure I'm allowed in your county and that you are familiar with my breed. So, who's ready for a big girl like me? If you’re interested in meeting me, please contact my foster mom and she will find out if I am allowed to live in your county. Please contact my foster mom by emailing roseysweezers7@aol.com. ♥
